Open Question: I need advice for a Hock Injury?
Ok I am going to call the vet AGAIN tomorrow!! My 3 year old gelding has a swollen Hock. Its on the outside and about the size of a small orange. He got tangled in the fence and got some scrapes. The vet came out the day after that happened And told me to wrap the one on his lower front right leg and lower right back leg because they where the biggest and nastiest ones. He had a cut about the size of the bottom of a soda can on his back left hock. This is the now swollen hock. A ll the cuts are healed but this one is only scabbed over. He isn't lame and isn't favoring it any. It's not warm and it's firm. He doesn't flinch when you touch it. So I really don't know what's wrong with it! There is another horse in the paddock with him but they don't kick or fight with each other. So I don't know what to expect. I have some vet wrap, Should I wrap it for now? I do know how to wrap hocks. I have done it before but that was from an injury not swelling. Would cold hosing help any? My sister took him out for a light ride(25min.) and he was fine. So what do you think is wrong? Should I wrap it? Would cold hosing help any? Oh and it's been like this for about 3 days. moreOpen Question: Different symbols-geography?

It's a 1994 Honda Accord. Auto. Fuel Injected It's doesn't start when it's cold, I mean when it hasn't been driven for over at least 4, not necessarily when the temp outside is cold, although it may be also, just got the problem recently and it's not the cold season around here yet. Well, we try to start the car, sometimes it starts up and flutters right away, but then is fine after it warms up, and sometimes it even starts up and clunks and then dies, sometimes it doesn't start at all. It appears to be some kind of gas issue, but I don't know if any air has anything to do with it. Also at the same time the check engine light comes on and on the dashboard cluster the "D4" (a drive gear) flashes on and off (blinks). I have no idea why the drive gear flashes. After the car warms up the car goes back to normal. Sometimes the check engine light comes on and stays on the whole time even after it is warmed up. I check the oil level and it is fine. There is plenty of gas in the tank, and the battery is good. That's all it does. So I don't know what exactly is causing the problem. I don't know if it is just a gas problem or if it may be some sort of air problem. Maybe should I clean the air filter or I also heard from someone to check if it is the O2 (oxygen) sensor. Any ideas? oil was changed with a new filter less than 500 miles ago. adn as for going to an auto parts store for the code reader, this car has an older different code system, no plug in, you need to read some blinking light code on the brain under the passenger front side kick panel. but I may try to figure that out, the one who tried to do the code didn't know how to read this one it's not the battery, because it can start up in the same amount of time it takes a good working car to start up. and I am pretty sure there is no choke because this is a fuel injected engine, no carb moreOpen Question: Is this short prologue any good?
Prologue The cell door slammed shut and I was left alone to contemplate my thoughts. The bed was up against the back wall, it was like lying on a rock. The cold metal toilet sat there stinking the whole room out, it was making me gag. The light flickered constantly like it couldn’t decide if i deserved it’s services or not. The window had no glass so the draft was surrounding me and my thoughts like a cocoon. I was cold with fright and warm with embarrassment they dragged me away in front of him how could they do that? I’d promised him no more and I had kept my promise but how was i going to prove myself to him? What was I going to do? My life is ruined if I let them get away with this. I can’t let them lock me up for something I haven’t done. I know I’ve done things bad in the past and I regret them now more than ever but, this I didn’t do. In all of my life so far I have never felt so betrayed and hurt. I’m sixteen, I’m alone, I’m scared. also if you can think of any ideas e.g titles, twists that would be great thanks alot moreOpen Question: 1988 honda civic clunky noise after start up.?
This only happens wen the car is completely cold and has been sitting overnight. I let it warm up with no problem but when i start driving and go to shift between 1st and 2nd gear I hear this clunky gurgly noise from the front end of the car. It only does it once when I go to drive away and then after that I dont hear it till the next morning when I'm driving to work again. What could this be? I just had an oil change. It also seems to respond to how long i leave my foot on the clutch when shifting between 1st and 2nd. moreVoting Question: need spray paint help!?

It's a story about a girl who gets pregnant by her ex who she trys to make things work out with him. in the end she couldnt but a guy comes along and trys to take care of her. heres the first couple pages of the first chapter what do you think? “Please you cant do this” she cried out to him. Her hands began to shake as she fell to her knees, while tears flooded her cheeks. Her body started to shake but not from the cold it was a warm night this was a shake that was caused through anger and sadness. “You promised! You swore! You said you would always be here for me!” she cried in a blubbering mess. “Alice please calm down” he said trying not to look at her face, he couldn’t bare to see the pain he was causing her, he rested a hand on her shoulder. “No!” she cried out as she pushed his hand away. “You swore you loved me! You wanted me to be your wife!” she cried out throwing cheap blows at him. “Alice, Alice look at me” he said sitting beside her in the cool grass. She looked at him wanting to protest “shh” he said before she could speak. “Alice I do love you. I never lied about that. I just need time.” he said trying to calm her down. She stared at him believing him for a second. For just a second her tears stopped as if she was taking in what was being said. She stared at him her expression changed for a second to being calm. Then it was gone. She pushed him away from her as she crumbled to the rest of the ground. He couldn’t stand to watch her like this. She was always so strong, the one that held together no matter what happened. She’s been mad before and she has yelled at him but she has never cried like this, she has never shown her hurt like this before. “You said you loved me, and we’d be together no matter what” she cried, her words coming out in hiccup-y sobs. He pulled her toward him and held her. “Alice, I’ll be her for you no matter what I just need time please don’t cry” he pleaded. Tears flooded her cheeks, she hated showing this much pain, but she just couldn’t see how he could this to her especially now. He knew that there was a huge possibility that she was pregnant right now. She fought against him not wanting to be touched by him. “Just cause your scared doesn’t mean you can run away! I’m scared too but I can’t run!” she cried at him, her hands started to hurt from trying to push him off. “Is this what you think its about?” he asked shocked. Of course he was scared how could they raise a kid. She nodded, reminding him of a kid. “Of course I’m scared but that’s not why. I just need 2 weeks. 3 tops, to think things out” he said, knowing no matter what he said it wouldn’t help. He released her and she fell away from her sobbing. “I hate you!” she cried over and over. He rested his hand on her face so she’d have to look at him. He brushed the tears away pushed her hair behind her ear “I love you Alice, can’t you please just give me this time? I wont leave you and I wont abandon you. I will be here for you and the baby” She looked at him defeat filling her eyes as her shoulders slumped. “Fine” she said. He studied her face the look of sadness shadowed her face. Just then his phone beeped. He looked at his phone and quickly put it away. “Who was that?” she asked. “No one” he said as she got up. “Let me see your phone then” she said her eyes suddenly shifting to distrust. “Alice it was no one” she watched him. “Liar” she said her hand reaching into his pocket before he could stop her. She flipped to his texts and read the most recent one it said. Erik, R U coming over? My parents want to meet you since Ur my first serious BF. Alice’s looked up at him, her face showing a mixture of pain and anger. “Alice I can explain” he said. She walked over to him her body language showing she was calm but her eyes we’re filled with anger. She stood in front of him silent. Without warning she threw the phone on the ground making it shatter into pieces. Without a breath to spare she slapped him, she slapped him with such force he staggered back words. She walked into her house without a word to him. He watched her leave unsure of what to do. He steadied himself from the sudden blow and walked to his car. He didn’t know she had that kind of strength in her. She walked into her room and gathered everything he ever bought her and gave her and walked back out. He was leaning against the car when she came out. He wasn’t sure what was going on. “How could you do that!?” she screamed at him throwing a shoe at him. “You said I could trust you” she yelled throwing the other shoe. “You said you we’re different” She threw a photo frame at him. He stared at the picture as it shattered on the ground beside him, it was of the two of them 9 months together. “I believed everything you said” she screamed as stuff animals hit him. She collapsed to the ground, squeezing the first present she ever received from him. I dreamed I was wandering through the darkened hallways of a palace. It was similar to the night the lights had gone out at my dad's 60th birthday at some hotel, but every room was empty and there were no candles to give off a warm glow. The stone floor was cold beneath my bare feet. I was somehow at the door leading into the large banquet hall, pushing them open without feeling my muscles strain, and looking inside. I was staring at the floor, trying to place its color in the darkness…red. It was red. Covered in blood. Revulsion pooled in my throat but somehow I was stepping into the room, my bare feet surrounded by warm blood. I was looking up, then, as something dark and flickering lunged past mw, deeper into the room. There was a figure on a platform in the center of the hall, illuminated by some pale, ghostly light that didn't have an origin. It was a woman, a tall, willowy woman with striking features and nondescript coloring. Her dark eyes followed me as I came closer and closer to the platform. I was staring at the woman, seeing death in her eyes, and barely noticed what I was now standing in front of. It was a throne, made of wood and gold. No one sat in it, but against one of the arms rested a golden scepter, tarnished and battered. The woman slowly raised a hand and touched the back of the chair. I was trying desperately to run as blood poured from the throne. It pooled around my ankles but I couldn't seem to move my feet. In sheer panic, I looked from the blood up at the woman. I was going cold, and I could smell death in the room. Then the woman opened her mouth, opened it larger than any human being should be able to, and let loose a hellish, shrieking noise. I woke up with a strangled yell, tangled in my sheets, sweating. Could it have something to do with the fact that I lost my virginity to my boyfriend--a man my family dislikes--during my dad's 60th birthday while there was a blackout? Or the fact that the night I dreamed about that I had just come from his apartment to make love to him (I promised him I'd dream of him just before I went back home)? Or could have something to do with meeting my twin brother in the kitchen (when I got home) and having an argument with him about David (my bf) before I went to bed? Or could it be because I was tired (it was 2:30 when I got home) and I'm more prone to nightmares when I'm tired and restless (as I've observed since childhood). AND PLEASE--this is SERIOUS, PEOPLE! I woke on the crisp, winter morning. My eyes drifted around the grey, stone cave?
I stood with a yawn and stretched. “Nadie?” I turned to the opening of the cave and saw a black coat coated with snow, and green eyes under the lichen that closed the cave off. “Koko, what is it?” “We need to hunt; the pups are beginning to starve.” I sighed. “That isn’t all. It is always difficult to get food in winter. Very well, I’m coming.” I followed her out into the freshly fallen snow which I was buried mid leg. “Where is Kiyiya?” I asked as I searched for his black coat. “He is in the nursery with Maka; Kamali says her pups are due any day now.” “Let’s hope they will survive.” The snow began to fall again. I looked up at the sky. “Looks like we’ll have to hunt soon, before the snow gets any thicker.” The snow was already beginning to cover my grey fur. “Nadie.” I turned and saw the outline of Istas. I could barely see her white coat in the snow. “What is it?” “I would like to go hunting.” “I was about to send some out.” I looked around and spotted two grey and white shapes curled up under a tree. “Kiche, Kohana.” The young wolves looked up. I walked over to them. “Would you go on a hunting patrol?” “Of course!” Kiche looked excited. “Let’s have some fun.” Kohana saw his expression. “Istas is going with you. Bring back as much prey as you can.” They all nodded before running into the forest. I looked at Koko. “Where is Kamali?” “She was in the nursery checking on the pups.” I nodded and headed for the cave in which the mothers slept and cared for their young. I walked in; sliding in the small dip that was the opening of the cave, and saw Maka sleeping; her brown fur thin. Kiyiya was curled around her trying to keep her warm. “How is she?” “Cold and hungry; but aren’t we all?” “Yes winter is difficult, but without it we wouldn’t know how good spring feels.” “That is true.” I looked away and saw Kai, her light brown fur wrapped around her three pups. “I only wish my pups didn’t have to suffer. Koda”, she pointed her nose at the light brown bundle. , “is not getting much larger.” “She is much smaller than her brothers, isn’t she?” “Yes but she is strong.” “She with grow into a fine wolf.” I looked at the other two Hachi’s grey coat and Doba’s black one standing out from their mother and sister’s light brown. I remembered why I came in here. “Have you seen Kamali?” “She just left.” “Do you know where she went?” “She said she needed more herbs. Maka has been coughing.” “I hope it’s not Snowcough.” Snowcough was a deadly sickness many got during the winter. “Me too, it would be horrible to lose a new mother, to lose another wolf.” I knew Kai spoke from the heart. She lost her mate first, then all of her first litter, of four, to Snowcough. “Yes it would.” I turned and walked back out into the snow, which had stopped falling. I listened and heard Istas, Kiche, and Kohana. I turned to greet them. Istas was in the lead with a plump rabbit in her jaws. Following behind her, Kiche and Kohana were each carrying rabbits as well. I walked toward them. “No elk?” Istas dropped her rabbit. “This was all we could find.” “Very well, take yours to the nursery. Kai said Maka has been coughing, so don’t get too close. We can’t let sickness spread now.” She nodded and trotted to the cave. “Nadie.” I turned back to Kache. “We scented the mountain pack nearby while we were hunting.” “Hmm I thought they said they had plenty of prey on the mountain. Ok. Share one rabbit, and take the other to Shadi.” Shadi was the only elder left of the forest pack. I trotted over to the cave where all of the hunters stayed. I poked my head in and looked for the reddish coat of Tokala. She was curled up with her sister, Tusa, who had a lighter coat, in the front. “Tokala.” I whispered. When she didn’t respond I poked her with my paw. “Tokala.” This time she looked up, sleep still in her eyes. “Hmm?” “Will you guard the entrance?” “Why?” “Kiche said they scented the mountain pack.” “What are they doing so close to the forest?” “I don’t know but I don’t want to take any risks.” She nodded and carefully stood without bothering her sister. We walked out and she headed for the entrance. I turned to go to Kamali’s den to see if she was there. I walked around the hunter’s cave and trotted into the cave beside it. There was a small entrance and I had to walk with my head down. Then it opened up to a large opening. I looked and saw the underground river to one side and on the other I saw where Kamali kept the herbs. I noticed there were very few. I sighed. “Hello Kamali.” I am 13 so constuctive critisism please, and this is a rough draft so im sure there are plenty of mistakes. moreResolved Question: Do bird bunkers actually warm up your bird? Here's the back cover description: When ten unlikely girls become friends, it’s only the being of their adventure. A tragic, forgotten secret unifies them as they embark on the scariest journey of life: finding themselves. In an unfamiliar world with a sadistic queen bent on revenge, the girls must battle betrayal, love, passion, and loss to get back to where they belong. Join Piper, Larkin, Faine, Demetra, Cressida, Allegra, Gemma, Artemis, Odette, and Calista as they find each other and find themselves. I realize ten main characters are a lot. But trust me, I do something with all of them. Here's the first chapter: PIPER It was a blustery afternoon with leaves being blown about on the vast expanse of lawn that belonged to Calton, Finishing School for Girls. Our faded blue and white motorboat was docked at the small boathouse, slowly swaying back and forth in the navy, foam covered water. This simple, cold day was how it all began. *** I stared out into the ocean in front of me, and, too tired to focus on one thing, I let my mind wander. I don’t really know how long I stood there, I just remember being… fine. I wasn’t exactly content, because that’s usually when you’re happy, and I wasn’t disappointed at anything. It was just that fine line between something good and something bad. I had things I had to worry about, and things that made me mad. There were also things like happiness and joy that lurked in the shadows of the gloom I had. “Piper,” Larkin calls gently. When she tapped me on the shoulder, I immediately snapped out of my daze and brought myself back to London, in the newly christened year of 2010. Larkin had come to bring me back to the house, but I couldn’t help wanting to stay out in the cold, just thinking. I knew I could probably get pneumonia if I was out in the cold with wet hair, but that really didn’t matter to me. I liked the cold, and I liked my time to think. The other reason for me not wanting to go inside was what I was going to. My father had never really been much of one after my mother died in childbirth. After my mother, Emily, died, Father consoled himself with drugs and alcohol. He didn’t see that he had anything else to turn to. One of his servants, Jemima, cared for Larkin and I until we were old enough to care for ourselves. Fortunately, my family comes from money, and we always had the finest. It was hard growing up with no mother and hardly a father, but after 17 years, my sister Larkin and I succeeded. We had come home to receive our Christmas presents, and for a change of scenery. Our school, Calton—an all-girl finishing school, had become dreadfully dull, and the gray walls that kept us seemed more like a prison and less like a home every day. Taking one last look at the sun setting over the ocean before I closed the door, I sighed. Oh, how I wished I could escape this place. *** Back at Calton, Larkin and I awaited in the huge parlor to greet our friend Faine as she came in. “Pip!” Faine squealed when she entered, using the nickname I detested. “Larkin!” We smiled and hugged her tightly. Her reddish-orange hair was a little frizzy from the wind, and her innocent, clear, aquamarine eyes watered from the quick change in temperature. After her stuff was brought in and put away, we retired to the Great Hall for a biscotti and some warm tea. We talked about our breaks, the presents we received, and the gossip we heard. In a matter of hours, I was slipping back into the old routine. At Calton, my friends and I are the bitches you love to hate. With our money and power, we do whatever we want, whenever we want, and no one dares to say otherwise. Though all of us are incredibly mean to anyone else, we love each other like sisters. Faine is the only one that is untouched by our horrid habits. The afternoon creeps by incredibly slow, and none of our other friends come home. Faine, tired from her trip, goes to bed early. Larkin and I sit in the den, sometimes thinking, sometimes talking. “What are you thinking about?” I ask. “Father. I worry about him, all alone in that big house.” “The servants make sure he has food. He’s fine.” I dismiss her worrying callously. “I guess…” she gives in. Larkin is such a hard person to figure out. While she’s incredibly mischievous, bitchy, and loud, she has such a good heart when it comes to family. When we’re home, she tries to coax Father out of his office or talk to him through the closed door. Unlike me, she wants her father to love her. I’ve never seen her as vulnerable as she is at home, when he’s there. “Let’s head up.” I say after the clock struck one. “I’m getting tired.” “You go ahead. I’m going to stay down here a bit longer.” Shrugging, I pad lightly to the staircase, only to look back and see a tear glisten on Larkin’s cheek. moreResolved Question: Is cold or warm air low or high pressure?
low pressure weather systems have lots of rainfall because the air is rising. high pressure systems have dry weather cos the air is falling. warm air rises cos it's less dense so is warm air low pressure and cold air high pressure. In my geog book it describes the different conditions during a depression (cyclone): ahead of the warm front, as it passes, it overhead, as the cold front passes and it overhead. IS IT WHEN BOTH MEET, BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE AND DENSITY THAT RAIN HAPPENS? I'm about to start searching for a new winter blanket for Zip (although it's still over 100* here, most days, which makes it really hard to think about buying winter blankets!). His blanket from last year is full of rips and holes and some of the straps have come off--and that was just after one winter. We had a really cold winter last winter, so part of the time he borrowed a heavier/thicker blanket from my barn owner. It's typically around the 30's most of the time (*F) with temps in the 20s at night sometimes. Every now and then the wind chill will make it colder than that. If we have another winter like the last one, that will happen frequently, but hopefully it won't! Zip has the ability to shred, tear up, ruin, break, and otherwise destroy anything within ten feet of him, including his own body, so durability is important. Price is a factor but not a huge one--I'm willing to spend a little more on a better one, but I don't want to fork over a ton of money unnecessarily. I'd prefer one that opens/closes in the front, because he tends to panic with closed front blankets and it makes it more difficult, especially if it's a really heavy blanket. Waterproof is a plus but not a requirement, since he generally won't be turned out if it's raining (unless he's already out and it starts raining, but he would come in shortly after if that's the case). He'll be stalled most of the time, but he would wear it while turned out. I have a good sheet that I can use for when it's not all that cold and he doesn't need a heavy blanket, so I just need something for the more severe cold. I want one that's going to do the job, not just to keep him warm but also to keep him from growing hair. Any recommendations as I start looking? Tough-1 is actually the brand he had last year, and it was basically destroyed. Granted, he's tough on blankets (and everything else), so it may not have been entirely the blanket's fault, but I was hoping to find something a little sturdier! The type of material that it's made of rips really easily, and once he got started, it just kept falling apart. It was also a little too lightweight, but that's easily fixed (and that was partly because we had a MUCH colder winter than expected). But it did come in hot pink, which was a plus :). I'll look into the Big D blankets. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Why are warm and cold fronts usually weakest in the summer in the US?

Rain poured down as lightning struck overhead. I could feel the vibrations of thunder under my feet. I curled my bare toes in the wet ground feeling the soil stick to my soles. Thunder clapped as the rain poured harder. I opened my eyes watching the lightning shoot down in dizzying colors. It was so beautiful and terrifying that it made my heart swell. I could watch forever. My lips curled into a smile as I closed my eyes feeling the cold rain wash over me. I sighed and shivered. A rustling sound caught my attention. My eyes flew open. Someone was watching me. I looked around my eyes darting back and forth. I looked behind me, to the side, in front, then behind me again. Nothing. A twig snapped. I jumped. “H-hello?” I called out warily. No answer. “Is anyone there?” I asked taking a step closer. A low growl echoed through the silence, I froze. An animal? Where? Instead of running away like a sane person would do I walked toward the growling. The creature growled louder, a warning. I ignored it and stepped closer. I was suddenly encircled by tall thick trees. The scent of musk and damp earth filled my nose. I inhaled deeply feeling relaxed immediately by the comforting presence of nature. It felt like home. My feeling of peace was quickly replaced by fear as a large black shape stepped out of the shadows of the trees. Its eyes flashed hungrily as it parted it lips showing a row of sharp white teeth. I stood frozen too scared to run, caught in the eyes of the wolf. It howled piercing the silent night. Thunder picked up in the distance a faint flash of lightning lighting up the scene before me. There was more than one. The leader sprang teeth just inches from my face. I screamed and fell backwards the wolf landing on top of me. It claws raked my skin as it teeth sunk into my flesh. I screamed my voice lost in the roar of the storm. My heart pounded as I tried to fight the wolf off but it was too big. The others attacked locking their teeth onto me. They were going to tear me apart. A large shape sprang knocking the wolf off me. The others left me to help their leader. I crawled away into a corner curling into a ball shakily. I squeezed my eyes shut trying to block out the sounds of the growling and whimpers. I wasn’t surprised to feel hot tears running down my cheeks. My body hurt all over I could feel the blood still leaking slowly out of my body. My heart thudded against my chest, fear still gripped me chasing away all thoughts of calm. Suddenly it was quiet. No rain, no thunder, no wolves, just…silence. Cautiously I peeked one eye open and then another. Warm sunshine spilled down bathing everything in a golden light. I was in a meadow. Colorful flowers dotted the tall soft grass a small creak bubbled nearby a few lingering trees swaying in the soft wind. I realized I didn’t feel any pain. I looked down and gasped in shock. My body was healed. No blood, no scratches, no bite marks, just smooth ivory skin. My jeans and tank top were replaced by a light cotton ivory dress flowing down in ruffles. My feet were still bare but something was added to my ankle, a thin chain of small yellow flowers. I blinked confused. Was I in heaven? A chuckle interrupted my thoughts. I looked up startled to find a boy sitting a few inches from me wearing a white button down shirt and ivory dress pants. His dark blonde hair tousled in the wind a few strands fell into his amber eyes. He was sitting criss crossed his hand resting in his lap. He was smiling, a warm sweet smile. He was beautiful a soft glow seemed to surround him lighting up his pale skin. He laughed at my surprised expression. I liked it-his laugh. “Who are you?” I asked. I couldn’t help but smile. Happiness seemed to radiate off him. His eyes shone as he held up one finger to his lips. “Shhh…” then he was gone. I shot up in bed gasping for breath. I felt like thick cotton was stuck down my throat. My body was heavy as led making my muscles scream in pain whenever I moved. Loud roaring filled my ears making it impossible to hear. I groaned before falling back against the pillows. Again. I dreamt of him again. Every night he’s been popping in my dreams. Just when the dream gets to its worse he saves me and we’re in a comfortable place. It’s always different. Different place, different situation, different clothes, same boy, same wolves. Just when he’s about to say his name I wake up. But I don’t mind. It makes me feel not so lonely. Maybe even happy. Sighing at the sudden feeling of loneliness I got out of bed to make breakfast. I have lived by myself since I was 12. I woke up one day to find both my parents gone. No note, no letter, nothing. They just got up and left. All their things were gone save for the piano and a few pictures. I don’t know why they left. In the age of Obama and purely progressive liberal democrats, this is now SOP, don't you think? The old parable of The Ant and the Grasshopper has been updated for the Age of Obama: The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving. CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green…" ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house, where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper's sake. President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Ant Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper. The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which as you recall just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug-related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the formerly prosperous and peaceful neighborhood. The entire nation collapses, bringing the rest of the free world with it. I am trying to write a book about this girl Maggie, who is 'scared' of humans. Humans kill people like her; violet eyed.. She is not exactly 'scared' but... more like...well, let's just say she can defend herself quite easily. Here it is, please critique! I awoke to thin translucent lines of gold flashes between the thick branches of the Willow tree I was currently residing in. My surroundings are a small stream slowly moving down the mountain—which I need to cross to get to home—and trees of many as blossoming Cherry trees and Pine trees. Snap! My fascination got startled by a creaking noise. I looked around and saw a girl, she had her red hair in braids and her pale orange eyes seemed to be scanning the forest. "Where is that girl?" She thought cruelly, "when I get her I am going to—"the image was too violent to see but it when it was over it involved me on the ground bleeding and she was over me with her leg stamped on my chest and her sword being pulled out of me. I saw myself crying my last tears and then my eyes rolling over. I shuddered at the thought, I am not going to let her kill me nor am I going to kill her. I slowly went closer to the ground, I pulled out my long arch and then a sturdy bow and then I slid the bow into the arch. I will aim it to a place where I won’t kill her but just hurt her, I aimed for her arm and then released. She clutched her arm and fell limply to the floor; she started to scream but then stopped herself midway as she looked around. Serena. I remember her from my childhood, she was a bully. And now I am being pursued and whoever catches me gets a reward. Serena seemed to try and get the arrow out of her arm, as I slowly got off the Willow and I grabbed my drawstring waterproof backpack—filled with my water bottle, a dagger, my journal, a few letters, my compass and map— my coat, my arch, and my arrows. I sprinted into a long run up the mountain; at this pace I will arrive home in less than twenty-four hours. As the trees seemed to disappear, the bitter wind smacked my face and layers of snow seemed to be piling up by the second. I squint my eyes as they roam the terrain, “Aha!” I gasped as I went toward the hidden tunnel. This hidden tunnel has been guiding people like me for two decades. I entered cautiously, as the ice that—could easily kill me because of its razor sharp tip—hung loosely and swung violently because of the bitter cold wind of the mountain. I exhaled sharply as I entered the mouth of the tunnel; it was warm compared to frostbitten cold outside, it was dark as night except for the small light that—looked like a star—was directly in front of me; the other side of the tunnel. Well that was it! Please comment! (And no she is not a vampire, werewolf, faerie, witch, etc.) I'm making my own species....well she is still human in a way but it's like a disease that she has. Anyway Comment! Review! Tell me what you think! Please. His hands tremble as they clamp the metal restraint around my left hand. The lock engages the sound echoing through the concrete room. “Come on, Walter. Please put your feet in the water bucket…” he grumbles tugging on my ankle. His hand is warm against my cold skin. “I don’t want to,” I whisper, refusing to look into his eyes. I clench my jaw. My teeth hurt from being clamped together so tight. “Walter… please… just put your feet into the tub.” He glances up at me with his, face glistening with a thin sheen of sweat, drilling me with his green eyes. I swallow hard. Was there any reason I fought for my life anymore? Was there any hope left? Was there any point? Any explanation? Any reason? My lip quivers from behind my front teeth as I stare into his gaze. “Okay.” The water is cold and the chill runs up my spine and begins to numb my toes as it swishes around my ankles. I shiver. “That’s a good boy, Walter,” he says. “Now just hold still and it will be over in a pinch.” A nod my head, eyes shut, tears rolling down my face. He pulls the lever down swiftly. And it’s over in a flash, leaving my scream behind to echo through the concrete chamber. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Here it is! Clothes are for shelter in the colder months, and for keeping us from exposing our personal bits, right? There are (obviously) serious consequences for being naked in public. I know about the whole "no shirt, no shoes" thing and all. But, what if someone, in warmer weather, (so they wouldn't need the clothes for shelter, necessarily) covered up their nipples, crack, and whatever front equipment they have with, I don't know, electrical tape or something and went places? No clothes whatsoever. Nothing offensive would be exposed at all, and they wouldn't be referencing or drawing any attention to their outfit verbally (i.e. "So what do you think of my outfit?") Could they get in trouble? If so, why? I NEVER said I or anyone I knew was doing this. moreResolved Question: How and Why did my fish die!?
So, I basically had him for a year and I know fish are supposed to live longer than that. I just came into my room and I was looking for him in the tank. I thought he was sitting there but only to find him lying on his side, upside down in the corner!! My fish is a guppy. He was in perfect health. He and his brothers once shared a filtered tank with my 2 koi fish. The koi fish ate all except for him. He didn't run away whenever I was near the tank. He just rose to the top because he thought I was gonna feed him. I had to go on vacation so I let my friend fish sit him. I captured him and put him in a bowl because she had no fish tank. She told me that my fish would hit the walls and did not eat his food. I'm thinking is he stressed because he's not surrounded by the koi fish!? So I got him back and put him in a new triangular shaped tank. On the first day, he was put in front of a mirror because of the the outlet and now i moved the tank to a different spot. It had no filter. and I cleaned his tank twice because some fungus thing was growing around the un eaten food. I noticed strange behavior too. 1. He just sat there on the rocks. 2. A few weeks later, he began swimming around. He had no ick or anything and I don't think he had fin rot, because he was moving his fins in weird ways. 3. He was vigorously swimming in one spot and now whenever I moved near the tank, he would swim away. Now he was scared of me! 4. On the last fews days before his death bed, he kept swimming towards the top of the tank. There was air bubbles coming from the top. I didn't see him eat, maybe once or twice and I assumed he ate when I wasn't looking. He was a bright orange color but his color was fading and he was growing pale. I'm not a pro fish owner. I didn't know the temps. When he lived with the koi, he lived in cold water which grew warm because it was heated from the sun. It's a little warm and cold in his tank. What happened!? Please help! R.I.P Jared. One of my favorite fish :( moreResolved Question: Right now, is USA more rightwing than Europe and Canada?
In my opinion, what is Liberal for America is not even Center for Europe. Here's my theory. If politics were the weather outside, and Leftwing = Cold wintry, Rightwing = Hot Muggy humid summery And socialism = snow, Communism = when you need to plug your car in the garage or it won't start Fascism is equatorial monsoons, centre-right is the heat and humidity we typically get in summer in America East Coast Right now on this scale in political terms, we are doing about 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit, dry and crisp Under Bush we were about 89 degrees with humid afternoon thunderstorms.... Obama coming into office was a cold front that put the humidity in check and cooled things down.... In my opinion, it is a moist 49 degrees in Canada politically speaking and in the past was cool enough for snow and frost, but US is 6 degrees WARMER STILL! France would be about the freezing rain mark North Korea would be drifting snow Is this about right? My political forecast in weather terms? too cold to drive a car = communism snow = socialism cool crisp = Liberal for America muggy hot = Conservative equatorial monsoons = fascist And therefore politically speaking, it's like America's comfort zone is living in the Southeast where cold = Liberal = 50-degree weather. Is this about right? and if it's cool dry that means it's cold for where you are....for an East coast US climate. cool and wet is more common in winter when it's warm for a place that's usually very cold, producing foggy conditions moreResolved Question: Is this paragraph more effective in first or third person?
OK so it's a big paragraph! Just read a little :) third person: She knew there was something odd about that day. The air tasted sweeter, the snow shone brighter – something! Even now, she can still remember every detail. It began like any other. The morning was as dark and as cold as city snow could make it, and she wished for someone to chase away her loneliness. She began her morning the way she always did, wandering from room to room, drawing back the heavy embroidered curtains that separated her night from day. A long warm shower and ten minutes in front of the mirror ensured she looked respectable enough to venture outside; her curly auburn hair tied loosely in a bunch on her head. She settled into the big musty armchair facing the window that once belonged to her father, with her cat Boo, and spent the hour it took for the sun to rise thinking about nothing in particular. When the sun filled the entire sky, she bid her only companion farewell, grabbed her coat, and headed out the door. Despite the relentless chill of the wind, the day was surprisingly beautiful – the sun casting a glow over the snow, making the buildings look as if they had been dipped in liquid gold, something she had never noticed before. She hurried down the slush-covered sidewalk, eager to reach the warmth of the corner-store. Once inside, she bought more than what she needed so that she wouldn’t have to make this journey again for a while, then stepped back out onto the frozen path, attempting to put her change into my purse whilst arranging her many bags. Clink! A coin fell from her frozen fingers, hitting the pavement and rolling several metres before coming to rest in a pile of melted snow. Sighing with frustration, she looked to the sidewalk, lowering her bundle of shopping so that she could put away the rest of her change then retrieve the escaped coin, but when she looked up again, a man held it in his outstretched palm. She looked at him for a moment, at his deep hazel eyes, his shock of dark hair, and choked out something she hoped had sounded like a thank you, her heart skipping beats. He once again offered his hand to her and introduced himself. His voice was like rich chocolate; his handshake melted her frozen fingers. It was at that moment she knew she would never be lonely again. first person: I knew there was something odd about that day. The air tasted sweeter, the snow shone brighter – something! one of my favorite quotes of all time from Mark Twain "god created man in his own image, Ever since man has been busy returning the favor" a study in 2009 showed that 60% of christians chose that religion because of its basicness, that you read 1 book, pray to 1 god, dont have to go to church if u dont want to, and ask for forgiveness for anything at anytime and be forgiven. so what does that say? that christianity is for the simple minded that cant comprehend what religion truly is or what god(s) truly are. another study that took place from 2006 and just finally ended this march showed that 74% of christians havent even read the entire bible or know all the books in it(such as the book of judges which is a direct copy of the stories of hercules and perseus and many greek mythology aspects but with a different name) so they worship something they know nothing about. let alone the book of Jobe, which is God WORKING with Satan to torture innocent men untill they question the existance of god for a bet that god felt like having, making boils appear all over and slaughtering the mans family in front of him with there blood bathing him in warm but cold comfort that god was in no way going to help. so....what is this god that so many of you want me to convert and pray to? and what can u prove to me outside of the bible that you dont even read and im sure i know more about than you. im open to honest answers, becaue you cant prove the bible with the bible. give me something, anything. btw, ive read the case for christ plenty, its a great book and strobel is an amazing author, also raised by a catholic mother and christian father, i know the bible very VERY well, every damn sentence in it. and job is complete torture for a bet against god by satan, and ya hes rewarded in the end by what? going through losing his entire family and everything he knew in life, and in complete despair? yeah, read the book of judges and look at the man called Simon, its literally a replica of hercules. so read the bible urself and then tell me im wrong with what im saying you ignorant fool. Job* not Jobe, my fault at the spelling, i wanted to make it easier to sound out for those that dont know about it. so its not the book of job-hunting or something to them. i believe in the greek gods, im no atheist by any means, im just pointing out the facts about the studies that have been done and from personal experience as well. moreResolved Question: I have this pain on my left quad near my knee for over a week. Should I have doctor check it out?
The pain is located on my lower left quad in the front just above my knee. It feels like sore muscle but I'm afraid that it is torn. I've felt this way for a week. I've been playing basketball everyday for a month. I've also been doing the air alert program with squats and deadlifts for leg power on alternate days during the week except Sat and Sun. When I warm up and play the pain goes away for the day. But the next morning the pain comes up. Its been over a week and I'm worried the pain won't go away and I'm causing further damage. I've taken a day off on occasion but I don't want to be inactive since I want blood to be circulating in that area. I've also been alternating hot and cold in the shower. Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: what should i name my story?
its for creative writing at school. i have written the story, i just dont know what to name it! I looked out the window and tightened my grip on the door handle in anticipation. White surrounded the car as we finally stopped. The icy flakes crunched under my feet as I stepped out and breathed in the crisp, cool air. I couldn’t contain my excitement and bolted off into the slippery, alabaster terrain. After a short, but clumsy, hike, I stood at the top of the hill with my dad and my brother and viewed the landscape. Sun shone off the glimmering snow, which stretched for miles. The mountains were dotted with rough rocks. Shadowy clusters of pine trees hid pristine snow from my view. As I focused my attention back to what was happening in front of us, I saw my brother take off down the track, weaving through the crowds of people on a toboggan. He came to an abrupt stop and toppled off into an icy pillow. Next to me, my dad laughed and walked towards the crumpled heap of waterproof clothes. After helping my brother up, whos face had turned bright red in the snow, it was my turn. We walked back up the hill and I perched myself on the toboggan. Sitting here, I suddenly realised how easy it would be to slide off the red plastic sled. My dad picked up the yellow string I would use to steer myself with in his big and callussed hands. I grasped it tightly and pushed myself forward. I was off! I careered around people and snowmen, formed by blocks of ice that lay in the snow- this snow was too hard to build with. It was perfect to slide on, though. I was going so fast, wind screamed in my ears and pushed my hair back so that it flew behind me. My hands froze, and I lost my grip on the string. A sloppy snowball sailed past my face and smacked into someone behind me. Laughter erupted from the culprit, and I would have laughed at the sight as well except I was in so much suspense. I began to tip to the left, I could hear the plastic grinding on the ice. I quickly swerved right to avoid conflict, but ended up in more trouble. Smack! The tree had popped out of nowhere! I was propelled forward into a slushy puddle, where I sat while trying to get my bearings. Spiky pine needles tickled my neck and I stood up. All I could see were masses of people with wet bottoms and sleeves, my dad and brother were nowhere to be found. Tears welled in my eyes. I was cold, lonely and confused. Suddenly, hands grabbed me from behind and I heard my brothers laugh. I turned around to see him grinning before a ball of ice smashed into my face. I threw a snowball back at him before running off to hide. We eventually retired to a bench and watched skiers ride along the achromatic surface. You could easily tell who had experience and who didn’t. Some slid along with such ease it looked as though it came as naturally as walking, while others stumbled and sent piles of snow flying everytime they fell. I wished that I could go skiing with them, but I would have to leave that for another time. We all took turns on the toboggan once again. I got used to it and decided it was not an enemy. We played for hours, until the sun began to sink behind the hills. Once again I sat in the back seat of the car, but this time, instead of looking wide-eyed out the window, I was fighting to keep my eyes open. I unzipped my marshmallow jacket and lay it on top of myself to keep me warm. I curled up and stared at the droplets of water fly across the car window until I drifted off to sleep. thats it, thank you! moreResolved Question: Is using powdered laundry detergent that bad?

please be honest and give advice :) My feet pounded against the hard concrete. The raindrops began to grow stronger and I had to squint to see where I was running. Panting, I wiped sweat off of my forehead and continued to run. The Sun had suddenly disappeared behind a big, dark cloud. Please let me live, I thought to myself. I wished Crane or Riley were here right now. Crane would have told me to run ahead while he stayed to fight off the enemy. Riley would have stayed by my side and made sure I was safe. I started to cry, remembering I would never see them again. “Gotcha!” All my hopes of escaping had come to an end. I hadn’t realized I was at a dead end when they threw me in the back of their van. Cold and scared, I huddled into a corner to keep warm. Two men climbed in the back with me to make sure I didn’t escape. One of the men took out a bottle labeled “sleep powder”. I didn’t have the strength to fight back as they sprinkled it over me. The last thing I remember was the faint noise of someone calling my name. 6 MONTHS EARLIER: “Don’t you just adore the summer, Casey darling?” my mother asked me. “Why, of course Mother. What is there not to love?” I replied. “Mildred! I’d liked an iced coffee and a Pillsbury cinnamon bun,” my mother ordered one of our many servants. As Mildred walked off, I thought about how easy I had it. While everyone else was working on their summer reading, here I was, getting a nice tan. I was the only one in my grade that had a seven story mansion, with an elevator. Everybody else used coupons, whatever those are. They shop at thrift stores and outlets while I only buy from top designers. My life was paradise. Little did I know, in a few short months I would be facing death. My step-dad is probably the richest man here in Brookeville. He owns almost everything. On the other hand, my real dad barely managed to pay the bills. I hate spending time with him. He can’t hold down a simple job and his wife (my step-mom) isn’t any better. “Casey, your father will be here soon to pick you up.” I shrugged, “Mother, why do I even bother to communicate with him and take part in his lower-class life?” “Because he’s your father and I don’t want you to ever say that again. Now, go to your room and have Amanda help you pack,” she said in a stern voice. I hopped onto our elevator and told Jason to press floor 5. As I stepped onto my floor, I wondered which room had the dress I bought this morning. Oh, well. It’s only money, as my mother would say. I walked into closet #2 and Amanda packed my things. I made sure she hired a pet groomer because my poor dog, Princess, was getting filthy. As I ordered a latte to my room, a servant told me my father was here. I went back outside to my mother and air kissed her goodbye. “Behave and don’t forget to call me later!” she said, as I walked to the front porch. I saw my dad waiting outside of his car. When he saw me, he smiled from ear to ear. “Casey! Hi, honey!” he said, giving me a hug. “Hello, father.” I said, getting into the passenger seat. “Uh, I see you cut your hair.” he said, trying to make conversation. I nodded. The rest of the car ride went on like this. Him trying to make conversation and I, giving him one-word answers. “Sweetie, I know I may not be able to give you a mansion or a huge allowance every week. But, I love you and I’m sorry that I’m not as close to you.” I felt bad for him. He really did care about me. I looked at him and said, “Dad, I don’t hate you or anything. I’m just not used to your lifestyle and I think it’d be nice if you could hold down a job for longer than a day.” “Casey, I can. The job I have is the reason your mother and I divorced. I think you’re old enough to know what my real career is,” he said, pulling up into his driveway. He opened the glove compartment and took out a note. He asked me to read it aloud. After reading it, I realized how much danger he put himself into when he went to work. And more importantly, I realized how much danger I was in. “Dad…” I started. Unable to finish the sentence, I looked at the note again. (THERE WOULD BE A NOTE HERE BUT THE FORMAT DOESNT ALLOW IT. it would say that her dad works for this guy that wants to take over the world) “Explain!” I told him. “Well, James was a friend of mine in high school. He was a top student and always wondered why everyone else couldn’t be as perfect. He wanted to create a world where there are no mistakes and everything is wonderful. He became a scientist and started testing his world of perfection on humans. He gave them supernatural powers and wants to do the same for the rest of the world. I agree and think his plan is a great idea! My wife, Malory, is working for him along with other people across the country.” “So basically, you’re working for Hitler and enjoy it?” I asked. “No, Casey. Lima travel. is the capital of peru and its largest city. Founded in 1535 by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, the modern city is a curious mix of the modern mega city with some 'islands of modernity', large but orderly slum areas and colonial architecture in the city center. Lima was the seat of the Spanish rule during 300 years, and as such it has wonderful churches, cloisters and monasteries that are worth a visit. Lima travel Lima travel: is also the best place to try the wonderful Peruvian cuisine, which has a huge variety of ingredients from coast, mountain and Amazon regions. Fish and seafood restaurants are therefore worth the time, and not expensive. Lima travel Lima travel: is built upon a valley surrounded by an extremely arid desert. This is long, so please just bear with me. I really need some advice. Let me start out by saying, that a month ago, we had five, healthy, happy cats. I live with my mom in a small neighborhood, free of crime, and not a lot of traffic. A few months ago, new neighbors moved in across the street. I don't want to sound rude, but they were very trashy. They have garbage piling up outside their backdoor, they don't mow their grass, there's probably four adults and four children living there. They're loud and drive crappy cars. This doesn't bother me, and I don't mean to judge, but I'm pretty upset here. Anyways, my boyfriend and I went to the beach for five days and came back on July 15th. The day after we got back, we found Chester, our five year old yellow tabby, no health problems and perfectly healthy, just dead beside our front porch beside a bush. He had a slit to his mouth and cheek, with a little blood from that. He was bloated, being in the sun for a few hours before we found him. He had no other markings. We assumed he had gotten hit in the road, suffered internal bleeding, and dragged himself into the yard, and died. We found no blood in the street, nor in the place he died or around it. I suspected the neighbors then, but tried to be logical and put two and two together. We burried him under a maple tree in our yard, said our goodbyes, and began the long journey of accepting the death of a beloved pet. About two in a half weeks later, just today, around 1 pm, my boyfriend arrived at my house. He told me Snowie was dead, at the end of our driveway. I went outside, and sure enough, she was. She was on the very edge of the road, soaking wet, and freezing cold. It was about 90 outside today, and while it rained early this morning (around 5), it is now very sunny, warm, and very hot. She was found in the sun, but yet she was soaking wet. No blood, no markings on her at all, just soaking wet and cold, despite being in direct sunlight. Our neighbors, whom we suspect, have two pools in their backyard. She had not been run over, she had not been hit. My mom and boyfriend are on their way to Wythville, Va right now. There is a lab there that does autopsy's for animals. We want to get to the bottom of this. I'm hoping the deaths are natural causes, of course. I want that piece of mind. We got pictures of her, the place she was found, pictures of the pool in the backyard (in case they take it down) and pictures of their cars in the driveway, showing that they were there at the time. Just in case, as evidence if we need it. My question is, what happens now? Is this just us being paranoid, or do I have a real reason to suspect these people we don't know? I have three cats remaining, plus two dogs that have a big fenced in yard outside, but they go in and out as they please. Until we find out what's going on, we're keeping the animals inside. What should I do? Should I worry? Should I get more evidence? How? What steps do I need to take that, if she was drowned, to convict them? Any advice or words to help would be greatly appriciated... thank you so much. moreResolved Question: How long does it take a warm front to travel from west to east across a state 508 miles wide?

First of all, sorry for my bad english, and a pretty long story. But I really need help please. There is a guy in my office who i have a huge crush on. He is my leader in the office. I have been liking him for 8 months now, and its getting harder. He is sometimes hot and sometimes cold towards me. When he is hot, we will talk and chat everyday. He like to tease, bully and act cute to me, either in office or in chat room. He even create a lot of nicknames for me, that he can call me depends on his mood. Every time we saw or passed by each other, he will smile and tease me. We always argue over a silly things. He is a caring person and always help me secretly, but he never directly show or tell me. I always knew it from my colleagues. But when he is cold, he is really cold. He will ignore me to the extent that when he want ask question to me, he will use our colleagues to ask on his behalf. He won't look at me and won't talk to me at all except for work related. We didn't chat either. He completely ignore me. Since I know him, he has been warm, cold, and hot. Its hurt me every time he acting cold. And I'm in the process of forgetting him. I try stop looking at him, but its almost impossible since he sit across me and whenever I turn, I will see him. To avoid this I put my LCD in his direction to block me from seeing him whenever I turn around. In meeting, I will try not to look at him at all, and whenever he walk in front of me, I will force myself not to look at him. To stop talking to him also is impossible since I need talk to him when its come to work, and what I do now is minimize the talking. But it's hard also cause he will out of nowhere tease me. I have also block him from my MSN friends list when I'm at home, and unblock him when I'm at office. Even after doing all of this, I still can't help myself from thinking and missing him. I've just got my '06 Sportster 883 XL with 7k miles on the clock. Bike runs great but has a ticking noise comming out from an engine (probably the front cylinder but it's hard to determine). The noise is constant, easy to recognize but not too loud. It is there all the time from the moment engine starts no matter if bike is cold or warm. Is this a normal engine behavior? PS I've noticed (when its cold) bike can't start without a choke even the weather is sunny and very hot. moreResolved Question: how to do a rolling burnout? cbr?
i just cant nail this. i have an old cbr600f geared right down for a stunt/trick bike. am i right in thinking that to burnout whilst moving i need to: have cold tyres warm brakes shift my weight onto the front begin this stunt from slowing down and being moving rather than starting from a standstill build the revs and drop the clutch whilst holding the front brake (not all the way) i try but the front seems to go well out of alignment with the rear or the rear just wont spin do i have all the basics right and just need practice or am i missing something? answers from those of you who have done it please i do not have a steering damper (should be here in 3 weeks from the states) and for you others this is done with a full kangaroo race suit with exterior motocross protection, £1000 1kg bmw carbon fiber helmet in my underground car park with an ambulance on standby and a homeless guy on reserve if i need a donor. my wife is a doctor also thanks everyone moreResolved Question: Can you interpret this dream?
Okay well the dream starts off that I get kicked out of this strangers house; and Im naked. I cover myself as much as possible with my hands and go to the skatepark because thats where I last saw my friends in the dream. There is this guy there with a group of friends( strangers to me) and he pats the place in front of him and says that he'll keep me covered until his friends can find me some clothes. My recent ex boyfriend is there, watching, but is just standing there like he doesnt even see me or is in a trance. My ex boyfriend is very important to me, it was the best relaitonship I had ever been in and Ive been having trouble with trying to get over him. The guy that says he would help keep me covered is a guy named Tyler that Ive talked to maybe once or twice on facebook, he goes to my school. So I sit down between this guys legs and he brings his legs up to sheild my sides, and wraps his arms around my shoulder as to sheild my front.( but not in a sexual way, almost like he was being hospitable, or tyring to protect me from something) My ex is behind and across from us and I feel him looking at us but whenever I try to turn and look at him Im blocked because Tylers hair is blowing in the way from the breeze. Then all of a sudden it starts storming and his friends leave saying they'll be back tomorrow to give me the clothes. Im cold and shivvering, the guy tyler thats holding me is warm and dry though its wet outside. My ex is still sitting as if in his trance, ( soaked to the bone) every once in a while looking over to glance at me and smile, though every now and then hed have tears running down his cheeks; crying. Tyler gets up and leaves, and my ex screams and yells for me to be careful before collapsing....and thats when the dream ends. Its very bizzare and I was wondering if somone could translate this dream for me? Or interpret what it might mean? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Are you an ant or a grasshopper?
OLD VERSION The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold. MORAL OF THE OLD STORY: Be responsible for yourself! MODERN VERSION The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving. CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, MSNBC and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green...' ACORN stage a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, “We shall overcome.” Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper's sake, calling the Ant a racist red devil. President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight. Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government GreenCzar and given to the grasshopper. The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood. The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it. MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010. moreResolved Question: Suggestions on this Epilogue?
It's my rough draft, the first thing I wrote. I need help with it please! :) The sun was blinding when I finally stepped out of the tan brick building. It felt good on my too pale skin. It took a while for my eyes to get used to the sudden light, but eventually they did, letting me look around the world I once belonged to months ago, and now joined again. I still couldn’t believe it was only months since Katrina’s death was reported. Three, agonizingly long months. It was weird to know that three months ago, I was a drug addict, got drunk multiple times, and cut myself till I passed out. Still, it felt good, knowing I was finally better. It was like I was a caterpillar, escaping my prison to become a butterfly. But I don’t think butterflies grow depressed. Maybe the ones that fly into the bug zapping lights are suicidal, or maybe they really are just attracted to the light. And at the moment, Patrick was my light. I could see him from the top step, waiting at the end of the sidewalk, by the grey curb. He smiled brilliantly at me, making me smile back at him. It was just too impossible not to. He was infectious, like the cold, but much, much better. The walk to him didn’t take long. But it did feel weird. For the first time in months, I was free. There was no nurses watching me. No doctors shoving pills down my throat, no nurses forcing me to eat. There were no beds to strap me in, no bars to block me from the outside world. I was free. And Patrick stood there, not three feet away from me now, proving to me just how free I was. He opened his mouth, about to say some greeting, but I already had my arms thrown around his neck, hugging me to him tightly. He was startled at first, but slowly wrapped his arms around me, his embrace warming me from the inside out. I could feel the dark tendrils that had had control over my heart melt, fading into nothingness. He pushed me away gently, smiling down at me still. “Miss me?” He asked teasingly. I hadn’t seen him in a week. The stupid doctors wanted to keep me from outside people for the last week, to see if it really was just Patrick being a good influence on me, or if I was really better. “Oh! It’s only you!” I retorted sarcastically. “I’m sorry, I thought you were Zac Efron from back there.” He rolled his eyes, tapping my nose with his finger. “That’s it, Natty. You are now banned from my glorious hugs.” As if to prove his point, he squirmed out of my arms. I glared at him, putting my hands on my hips. “Not fair, Patrick! You know I was just kidding!” “Were you, now? What a sick, horrible joke. I wonder what kind of sick person would joke about something like that.” He retorted playfully. “So now you don’t want my hugs?” I started to pout, looking at the ground, heaving a loud sigh. “Fine, Crow, you win.” When I looked up, he had a lopsided grin plastered on his tan face, arms open wide to me. I just shook my head, sighing loudly again. “No, no. You don’t want to hug me… I won’t be a bother any longer.” He rolled his eyes, putting his still raised hands on my shoulders. “Would you just shut up for one moment? I have something important to tell you!” He didn’t sound angry, but excited. “Really now? And what would that be?” I asked smiling, poking him in the shoulder. He smiled at me. “This.” Before I could tell what was happening, his lips were on mine. It was a short kiss, but my first. When he straightened up, I was standing there, frozen with surprise. The fountain on my right broke me out of my shock, catching my eye. It took me a while, but then I finally found what had made me look. I could see Katrina in the fountain, her white dress stuck to her body, soaked in the fountain’s water. She smiled at me before a jet of water splashed in front of her figure. When the water subsided, she was gone. I just hoped she was in her final resting place. “So….” I mumbled awkwardly. “So….” He replied. “Natalie? Would you like to… like go do something tomorrow night? I hear they’ve got a good movie in the theaters…” He muttered, sounding shy. I smiled again, grabbing his hand. “I would love to.” We started to talk about the movie he was talking about while we walked away from the mental hospital I had called my home for three and a half months. It was once my prison, now the final resting place of the depressed Natalie Rayne Crow. Suddenly, sixteen years wasn’t enough for me anymore. As long as Patrick was at my side, I could get through life. No matter what it threw at me. Ya... I'm sorta skipping around my book at the moment when certain scenes get too tough. Basically, I'm writing rough drafts, then I'm gonna polish them and stuff :P moreMore Cold Fronts And Warm Fronts Results
