moreResolved Question: My wireless USB network adapter was disabled. Why?
Hello. Basically, I'm on my PC tonight and all of a sudden i lose the connection. This happens every so often and I usually Right click and then chose repair and it connects me again right away. That happened to day, and it did not work. The USB adapter stopped flashing and I was not able to connect. I restarted and usually I get connected right away, however that did not happen. I thought the USB adapter just went dead, but I have had it for about a year which is well below average. So i went to "Add Hardware" in control panel, and found out that it had been disabled. It said "This device is disabled. (Code 22)" I clicked to enable it and it worked and I got connected again. Now, my question is, why did this happen? I did not disable it. Can Windows XP do that? My computer has been running fine with no signs of a virus and I have Virus protection and Firewall, but could this be done by a virus? It just seemed weird. Thanks in advance
The adapter was a Netgear WG111 and I have Windows XP

moreVoting Question: I need help with NETGEAR WG111 wireless?
We have a Windows 7 computer and we had it installed, and it worked fine for a while. Then, all of a sudden, it just stopped working. It wouldn't let us connect to the internet, so I uninstalled it, and that gave me problems. When it finally uninstalled, and I tried to reinstall it, it gets to the point where you insert the USB Wireless connector, then when you click next, the installation stops and doesn't install the driver for the connector. Anyone have any ideas?
The computer I am downloading the software on has no internet without this, I should have said this before.

moreResolved Question: Why does my router kick me off the internet after about 10-15 mins?
I have a 54 MBPS wireless USB Stick NETGEAR WG111 2.0
Recently I had a virus on my computer. My anti-virus program deleted the virus successfully. Nevertheless, I think the virus may have damaged my wireless connections somehow. After the virus was deleted I had to restart my computer and when I logged back into my windows account my internet turned off the first minute that I went to google.com. I think my router may have somehow blocked me because it knows there is something on my computer that may be harmful to the users that also use the network. My router is not a NEATGEAR router. It is a 2WIRE 2701 HG-B router. Now every time I restart my computer I can only use the internet for about 2 minutes until the router kicks me off and then I don’t have internet anymore. I also cannot use a cable because I don’t have one and my router is far from my computer. I have also tried to look for a new driver for my USB stick as the NETGEAR support told me but there wasn’t one.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED PLEASE!!!

moreVoting Question: NetGear WG111 v2 Problems.?
Been having problems with this NetGear WG111 v2 since i've got it. Had it working nice and good after switching the channel to 4 even though the router is broadcasting on channel 6. Since last night whenever i start to transfer anything (downloading, uploading, surfing the net, playing games) for any period of time over about 1-2 minutes the signal starts to lose strength, progressivly goes down from 54mbps to 48 to 36 to 24 to 18 to 11 to 5.5 to 1, untill i either stop or whatever i'm doing just freezes from lack of connectivity. I've tried upgrading the driver to the most recent but then it wont even connect no matter what channel i use so i've been continuing to use the drivers that came with it. My only other idea to this problem is maybe someone else is tapping into the connection since this router does not have security enabled (WEP), since this is my roommates internet connection/router i really don't want to ask them to go into setting that up. But if there any other ideas of what i can do, besides getting a differnt adapter, would be much apreciated. thank you.
