Open Question: New Sound Card Distortion problem?

I recently Purchased the ASUS Xonar DX PCI-E Express 7.1 Audio Card from Newegg.com, for my Desktop. My Desktop is custom built. So far the card has worked fine, except with volume changes. If, for example, i turn the little speaker at the bottom right corner of my screen all the way to 100, the sound becomes really really distorted and really scratchy. But if i leave it at like 50, and turn up my surround sound receiver its fine. Also, the audio program i have for the card has like a volume knob on it aswell. If i turn that past 50, it gets distorted and scratchy also. However, in order for me to hear the song in normal volume, i have to have my receiver at like -20. (+16 is loudest and -80 is mute) With the small volume icon at 50. I have used Memstest, and nothing showed up. Also, WMP11 works fine. Resolved Question: Wireless Internet keeps disconnecting?

I have a Belkin high performance wireless N USB network adapter. When im surfing the net and streaming video it seems to work great. However when I am playing games, such as Heroes of Newerth, it will randomly disconnect me. Its not just once or twice its more like 15-20 times. I have to alt+tab out of the game and reconnect every single time and it is almost impossible to play like that. I have a Belkin Wireless N router too so I do not know why in the world it does this. The only thing I can think of is that its plugged into USB 1.1 and not 2.0.  more

Resolved Question: My internet connnection keeps going on and off every hour or so using a Realtek wireless adapter?

I connect to the internet wirelessly using my Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54mbps usb 2.0 network adapter and it seems to somehow just disconnect for no reason. The only temporary solution ive found is to re-install the driver in device manager, it fixes the connection but then goes off again later. It seems to happpen when im doing things that require lots of bandwidth like downloading music, videos etc. Is there a solution??  more

Voting Question: I cant connect to internet with old dell desktop?

its a 2002 model and runs windows XP home, and we bought a usb 2.0 card so the computer now has usb 2.0 and we also bought a wireless network adapter usb device so that it can receive wireless signals, but whenever we try to use it, it never connects to the internet? the weird thing is that its able to detect other networks around it but we cant get on the internet with it and it always asks for a wep key when logging on to our network but we never use a wep key but instead a wpa? it also has sevice pack 1a installed, so maybe it needs to be updated to the latest SP? or is there a way i can change the settings on the computer so that it takes wpa keys instead?
