Hi guys, I wear anything from a bigger medium/large shirt, and 16/18 pants. I am looking for a very classy dress that's from about the 1920's-1960's. Voting Question: What's with hip hop styles today?

I hate the fact that many people have enjoyed going through high school with awesome hip hop music, but lately it sucks for me since I'm from a younger generation of untalented loads off rappers who think skinny jeans are amazing, vans look cool, glasses, petite t-shirts are cool, and skateboards are cool and it gives them swag?? I hate how these rappers are giving hip hop such a stupid name nowadays, I loved the Hip hop that I would listen to to hear about stories of the life and struggles of people in the hood, and the stories of success coming out of the hood, drugs, violence and drinking. I mean I loved how it was inspirational at times because it helped me get up and stop feeling bad for my life, when theres people living out there in worse conditions than me. I miss Method Man, Nas, 2Pac, Slick Rick, Eminem, what happened to those guys and their music about struggles and life stories? Even clothing changed in hip hop, before it was baggy Phat Farm,Rocawear, or just any brand of baggy jeans, with a plain baggy white t-shirt and a fitted cap or a baseball cap, nowadays its supid rainbow skinny jeans, vans that look like golf shoes, and tight little v-neck t-shirts that look like they were bought at an infant clothing store. WTF is up with kids of today that like this stuff and think its cool? I miss the retro NBA jerseys that rappers would rock back in the day, the backwards caps, bandanas, sick chains and jewelery, the timbs and boots, nowadays rappers like New Boyz think that turquoise and purple skinny jeans look cool, with a size small v-neck shirt and a scarf and tight fitted cap that shows the shape of your head. I seriusly hate todays music and wish I could have been in high school when the Carter 2 by Lil Wayne was out or the Carter which were two of Lil Wayne is best solo albums out to this day, or when T.I was still a thug and not a pop sellout like today with whatever you like, or when Snoop Dogg still kept it gangsta with the Blue Carpet Treatment releasing singles like Boss' Life ft Nate Dogg and That's that shit with R.Kelly. I miss the hip hop from the 90's to about 2006's 2007ish. You just don't hear rap like that anymore nowadays. Now its all about jerkin and vans! Please tell me what to do I can't cope with seeing idiot kids in my school dress like stupid jerkers, I want baggy jeans and baggy tees to go back into style! more

I'm a straight 18 year old male heading to college this fall. I've never really payed much attention to my clothing style, but since growing up and becoming more mature, I've been trying to figure out what my style would fall under. I'm a big fan of the country, not much of a city person. Only reason I say that is because it seems as though your surroundings usually reflect your style. I don't wear many dress shirts, but I have a good amount for the occasional formal event, along with a suit. Details: I've completely grown out of the Hollister phase, however I still like most of Abercrombie's stuff & American Eagle's. I've recently started shopping at Gap, Urban Outfitters, and (Express for the dressier things.) I'm much more into the "plain/retro" look now. I'm not a big fan of logos across my chest anymore. Plain meaning "off" colors. Nothing super bright, but nothing that dark also. For example, I have a lot of navy blue shirts, grey, some black, white, and green as well. I like to wear plaid button shirts, V-necks (but not deep V-necks) and I love hoodies, zip & pull overs. I wear a baseball cap on occasion, & I have my sports wear such as basketball shorts, under armor, nike, puma etc. Sneakers- usually white. Brown & black dress shoes. I also like to wear brown work boots come closer to fall/winter. I'm not much of a polo guy, I usually just wear t-shirts, and long sleeve knits & such. Love Jeans, low rise boot leg. Like, oh look at my cute little floral ditsy dress that i might pair with my cute shopper, and i might rough it up with a pair of cool biker boots and a cropped denim jacket. i'm so stylish and young and cool. And, oh hey guys i'm thinking of wearing my cool high waisted skirt with a vest tucked in and a shirt (unbuttoned obvs LOL!) over it! and maybe with this lil retro necklace thing :) then the next day i might wear this new little lace top with my high waisted hot pants and a fake pearl necklace. so cute! And okk day after that i'll wear my lil bralet with my other high waisted skirt. Then when we go to that gig (we do things like that cos were cool LOL! :)) ill wear my bodycon skirt and my bomber jacket. And oh i'm always shopping at vintage shops cos im unique and different and stylish like that :) and i wear my grandmas satchel and her shirt cos it makes me kooky and a its a right kick in the face of conformity. im so different i dance to my own tune but i love topshop and urban outfitters theyre so stylish ♥♥♥♥ They get on my nerves so much. Resolved Question: What are the classic films (80's?)?

On retro t-shirts you generally see the same artists/films such as Blondie, Grease, The Goonies, Edward Scissor Hands etc. but what are all the classic 80's (or other) films that you HAVE to have seen? I want to kind of catch up with stuff as i like this style or film. Any recommendations? I love The Breakfast Club, Ferris Buellers day off etc.. i don't know if this question makes any sense to be honest. But like what kind of STYLE film are they? Resolved Question: How to personalize my uniform/show off my style?

Hey, thanks for reading my question!! : ) Okay, so my uniform is really plain, unfortunately. We have regular (over-sized) polo shirts that come in black, red, and blue. We also have khaki shorts (navy blue, beige, and black) that barely reach above the knees. We are allowed to wear knee-high socks, but I think we're not allowed to wear leggings. We can wear whatever shoes we want, and MAYBE suspenders. But no hats. : / So this is my dilemma: I want to express myself, but I have no idea how haha. I bought a pair of knee-high socks, but I have to wear these huge running shoes because of my bad knees (they're blue, and the socks are pink & orange with that diamond & line pattern.) I describe my style as Random Retro with a little bit of Japanese influence (okay, a LOT of Japanese influence haha). So any ideas on how I can pull this off?? Resolved Question: Im starting a web project, and need help with Copy right laws. Can someone help?

I am starting a small web page on facebook and/or myspace, as just a modeling/advice/news/chat type thing for trendy and chiQ fashions (also known as Retro/Scene/Emo/Punk Etc.) Im new to all of this, and I have a few question regarding how to go about this. Do I have to Buy My Company Name, even if its just on facebook or myspace? If I plan on selling T-shirt and Plush toys with my companies name on them, must I buy a copyright, or license it? And lastly (for now) how do I trademark, or copyright all images used on my site? 1) There were no TV talent shows. 2) Television supported new music. Not only were there no talent shows on telly in the 1990s, there were a number outlets for new music which don't exist anymore. 3) Big album releases were an event. On 21 August 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now. It was rubbish but that's not the point. The point is that people queued outside record shops (remember them?) all night to buy it and it shifted nearly half a million copies on its first day of release. Perhaps it's just us but we can't help finding it sad that only new mobile phones generate the same level of excitement these days. 4) We had proper rock stars. At the start of the 1990s, Guns 'N' Roses were the biggest rock band in the world. They took drugs, shagged groupies, caused riots and raised hell in a manner befitting their position. Then it was Nirvana, whose frontman didn't just whinge about being depressed, he actually did something about it. Then came Oasis who sung "you might as well do the white line" and prompted questions in parliament about their behaviour. Now we've got Coldplay. 5) There were music movements. The 1990s kicked off with the Stone Roses playing a massive outdoor gig at Spike Island in Widnes for 27,000 young people dressed in flares, tie-dye t-shirts and 'Reni hats'. We want them to be obscenely wealthy outlaws, living in ludicrous mansions, travelling the world in private jets, answerable to nobody and sticking it to the man. Well, too bad, those days are over. Established superstars can still rake in millions with mega-tours but the unstoppable decline in record sales of the last 10 years means that any new artist hoping to make serious cash has to whore themselves out with commercial endorsements, product placements and 'alternative revenue streams'. Resolved Question: Women and girls, thoughts on metrosexual guys?

I'm just curious what women think of a guy that's kind of metrosexual. Not high maintenance or girly but likes to look good and stand out. I used to dress pretty basic for a guy: polo style t-shirt, baseball cap, jeans and shirt not tucked in. But sometimes I like to go for a cool retro look - tucked in button up long sleeve shirt, metal studded leather belt, jeans - nothing to fancy but like to stand out. I like 80's fashion even though I'm 21 so I kind of incorporate that look. I was just at the mall today and noticed guys are so casual now and nobody has any uniqueness. A lot of very attractive women walking around with your typical buzz cut, khaki shorts, trendy t-shirt, never tucked in shirt. So do you prefer that typical guy look: t-shirt not tucked in, buzz cut, khakis...? personally if I saw a girl with a retro 80's look and not the typical straight hair trendy hollister look, I'd love it! Resolved Question: Outfits for my band, please help?

I'm forming a 50s themed band. We play glam rock, hair metal and rock & roll (think Guns N Roses meets Mud). We want something different to the jeans and T-shirts all the other bands wear at the moment. Here are the proposed costumes. Which one is best? And can you suggest anything else? 1. Rockers/Greasers (leather jackets, tight blue jeans, winklepickers) 2. Teddy Boys (drape jackets, bolo ties, creepers) 3. Jocks (baseball jackets, converse) 4. Singing cowboys (bright colored Western shirts with flowers, lots of rhinestones) 5. Southern farm boys (checked shirts, jeans, denim jackets, wifebeaters, overalls etc) 6. Retro 60s clothing (matching houndstooth jackets, tight black jeans, thin ties) 7. A combination of the above e.g. one cowboy, one jock, one greaser etc No emo stuff. im starting to wear things like jeans (duh) white button down shirts with a vest over and a tie. also i wear a bunch of sunglasses that are aviators, wayfarers, ray bans, and carreras. also im wearing a lot of retro styles from the 80s and i bought a paisley tie and a plaid tie too. and then of course polos too and t-shirts with a design on it or the brand (hollister abercombie). and those baseball shirts too. any opinions? more

Resolved Question: Are shirts that show your stomach appropriate for summer?

I don't mean like a half-shirt. It's a really loose kinda of retro-looking tshirt that kinda falls off one shoulder. It's longer in the back but is cropped in the front and it probably shows about 2 inches of the botttom of my stomach. (no belly button) I've always thought most girls in like belly shirts looked really inappropriate and acted show-offy, but it's a bit different. Do you think it would it look appropriate? 2 separate compliments, please. Nothing x-rated. Recall in the 1995 movie, An American President, the preteen daughter of the widowed president advises him to compliment his date's shoes, which he does later that evening. Was that good advice? One guy complimented my bronze, gold, & silver braided T-strap flats at a banquet. Sweet. I try to wear flats to save my feet from tortuous high heels & search a lot to find attractive flats that are still bearable or hopefully, comfy. I might compliment a guy for his intense eyes or for being a good listener if we were on a date & were talking. Even not on a date, I have complimented guys for wearing cool retro hats with brims that were their trademark looks or for a sharp suit & tie or for his sports jacket or shirt & one guy for a white winter scarf, sort of a rayon blend, worn around his neck with a black winter jacket, which looked good & was still masculine.
