Resolved Question: Obama & La Raza yet another new lawsuit to file seperation of familes young wife and a 2-year-old son?

With a wink and a smile, 24-year-old drug dealer Uriel Palacios bid farewell to his family after being told he would spend the rest of his life behind bars for killing a newlywed Irving couple. Palacios was convicted of the murders of German and Erika Clouet on Wednesday, and the same jury sentenced him to 99 years in prison Friday afternoon after hearing two days of testimony about his many brushes with the law. He was already serving a 30-year federal sentence for dealing drugs. The sentences will be served consecutively. He'll finish out his term in a federal lockup for his involvement with the Mexican Gulf cartel before heading to a Texas prison for the murders. "He had 14 opportunities for second chances," Andres Clouet, German Clouet's father, said, referring to the number of crimes with which Palacios has been charged since 2003. "No one is responsible for those 99 years, not me, not the jury, no one but him." After Judge John Creuzot read the jury's decision, the bailiff escorted Palacios to a side exit. It was then that he turned to his right to see his tearful family and gave them a wink and consoling smile. His wife and mother declined to comment, but both said in testimony Thursday that Palacios had become a changed man since being imprisoned on the drug charges. He has a young wife and a 2-year-old son. Palacios never took the stand in his own defense. On Labor Day 2008, a sheriff's deputy pulled Palacios over for driving recklessly on North Central Expressway. Deputy Scott Selby approached the Chevy Tahoe and demanded that Palacios get out of the vehicle. After Selby stepped back, Palacios sped away and turned his lights off. Palacios ran a red light and crashed into the Clouets' Toyota Scion at the intersection of North Central and Mockingbird Lane. His Tahoe was sent airborne and fell on the hood of an SMU student's SUV. All five freshmen in the vehicle were injured, as were Palacios and his passenger. He tested positive for marijuana after the crash and his blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit. At the time of the wreck, Palacios was wanted on four outstanding warrants for drug offenses and driving while intoxicated. Those charges are pending, prosecutors said in their closing arguments Friday. Mirta Clouet said the end to her son German's life could have been avoided if laws were harsher on drunken driving. "If they don't fix the justice system these things will keep happening," the mother said in Spanish. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/071610dnmetpalacios.146f625cb.html  more

Resolved Question: Why do rappers reference the Glock pistol many times, but not others?

There are plenty of references to Glock-brand firearms in rap songs. Glock, as we all know, is a company based in Austria that manufactures firearms and knives. There are also occasional references to Colt firearms, or the Military Armament Corporation, which manufactures the beloved MAC-10 pistol. But what about other firearms manufacturers like Steyr, Benelli, Ceska Zbrojovka, FN Herstal, Kahr, Walther, Norinco, KBP, Ruger, SIG, Star Bonifacio, Tanfoglio, Taurus, Denel, Zastava, or others? Man, there's a whole WORLD of gunmakers out there! And many of them make awesome and powerful firearms. Why don't rappers refer to the full spectrum of manufacturers in their songs? Why limit themselves to Glock and MAC? A sheriff deputy once informed me that the reason why rappers always rap about glocks is because the term "glock" is very easy to rhyme with. He also stated that many real gangbangers do not even carry glocks, but .22's. Is this true? I was bored, this was just like a fun type of question to ask.  more

Resolved Question: Do people in Arizona and those who support their new immigration bill know the author's background?

How many people that support this bill from other states and how many people from Arizona actually know the author's background (Russel Pearce)? If you knew about his background, why do you think it's a good bill coming from somebody with such a disturbing and racist past? If you didn't know, do you still think it's a good idea? --------------------------------- http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2009/spring/hate-in-the-mainstream Arizona Reelects Hard-Core Nativist Politician Hate in the Mainstream Forced out as an Arizona state representative after eight years because of term limits, immigrant-bashing legislator Russell Pearce was elected to the state Senate in November. A Republican from Mesa, Pearce defeated his Democratic opponent by getting 56% of the vote. Several months before the election, Pearce wrote a letter to Glenn Spencer's anti-immigrant hate website, americanpatrol.com, seeking $5 contributions. His campaign also received money from Rusty Childress, a Phoenix car dealer and president of United for a Sovereign America, a hard-line nativist extremist group; Chris Simcox, president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps; and Al Rodriguez, a retired Army colonel who heads You Don't Speak For Me!, a group bankrolled by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Simcox and Rodriguez also served on Pearce's campaign committee. Pearce is the former deputy sheriff who E-mailed an anti-Semitic article from the neo-Nazi National Alliance website to supporters in October 2005. Resolved Question: Is there a limit a bank has to file a sheriff's deed after they purchase a property from a sheriff's sale?

I've had a signed contract on a foreclosed property in KS for 90 days now. We have agreed to terms on repairs ($11K plus) and closing costs and were all set to close at the end of December, when we were notified the bank never filed the sheriff's deed. Communication has broken down and their lawyers can't agree on where the deed should "originate" from, so therefore have done nothing. My Realtor suspects they are dragging us along hoping we'll walk away so they can re-list the property. Is the law totally on their side on this thing or is there any to get this deal done?  more

Resolved Question: Do you agree with new recommendations that all police across America cannot ask about immigrations this means?

Do you agree with new recommendations that all police across America cannot ask about immigrations this means the police could not arrest anyone suspected of being illegal or could not even issue a ticket to a suspected illegal for no drivers licenses or insurance and the police would be powerless to even arrest any suspected illegal until a fatal crime happens until then illegals are off limits to all law enforcement ,why are illegals now not even held to the same laws as us, they are accountable when it is a serious crime until then the police would subject to being fired for U.S. government task force recommended Wednesday that the federal Department of Homeland Security scale back an initiative that allows local authorities to enforce the country’s immigration law. The so-called 287(g) program — named after the section of law that created it — should be limited to identifying illegal immigrants in state prisons and county jails and exclude any efforts to track them down outside of criminal investigations, the Southwest Border Task Force said. The proposal came as part of the group’s first report to the Homeland Security Advisory Council, which sought input in June from several border politicians, law enforcement officials, academics and business leaders. The task force presented 18 other proposals Wednesday on issues ranging from streamlining the border crossing process to ongoing cooperation with Mexican law enforcement. “Our goal is to get all of the Southwest border on the same playing field and draw out the realities on the border versus the rhetoric,” said Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño, the task force’s vice chairman. Civil rights and Hispanic groups have urged President Barack Obama’s administration in recent months to end the 287(g) program amid mounting evidence that some participating police departments have used the newly granted authority to justify racial profiling. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, whose jurisdiction includes unincorporated areas outside Phoenix, has been accused of targeting individuals for immigration review based solely on their appearance and is currently facing a U.S. Justice Department investigation into alleged civil rights violations stemming from his participation in the program. Treviño, a staunch critic of 287(g) in its current form, said Wednesday that assuming a role in enforcing federal immigration law distracts local authorities from their primary duties and can cause problems with illegal immigrants in their communities. “We do not want a repeat of what has happened in Maricopa County,” he said. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced during the summer that her department would review 287(g)’s scope. Since then, the number of participating law enforcement agencies has swelled to nearly 70. In addition to changing the 287(g) program, the Southwest Border Task Force also urged Wednesday that Homeland Security place more emphasis on recruiting customs agents for the nation’s land ports of entry. Although Congress has appropriated money to expand the ranks of the U.S. Border Patrol by 8,200 since 2006, hiring for customs agents has not kept pace. Homeland Security budgets for fiscal year 2009 included funds for 2,200 new Border Patrol agents but only 22 additional customs agents. Other task force recommendations include: >> Creating a White House office to coordinate approving applications for new border ports of entry such as the soon-to-open Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission. Currently, local entities must complete 13 steps before winning approval and deal with four government agencies outside of Congress and the White House. >> Adopting clear definitions for terms such as “spillover violence,” which the task force suggested should be narrowly defined as violence originating within a Mexican criminal organization that plays out north of the border. >> Setting up a federal government grant program that would routinely provide money to border-area law enforcement. Homeland Security is not bound to implement any of the recommended policy changes, but Treviño, the vice chair, said he is hopeful they will receive fair consideration. “If DHS — or any other federal law enforcement agency — is going to meet their mission, they are going to have to have the 100 percent cooperation of local law enforcement,” he said. “I think this is a good first step.” http://www.themonitor.com/articles/federal-31189-force-task.html  more

Resolved Question: when, and how, should i enlist in the USMC?

ok, so here's my situation. ill be graduating high school next year and their are two thing that i want to do before i die. one of those things is to be a US Marine, and the other is to work in law enforcment. (wheather it be S.W.A.T., DEA, detective, CSI, sheriff, customs, or just to work a regular patrol shift. i dont' care which of those jobs i get, as long as it's in law enforcment, ill jump at the chance to work on that job) so how should i go about enlisting? should i just do a 4 yr term right out of high school, or join the Marine reserves then go to school for criminal justice while in the reserves, or should i go to school first, become a cop (or whatever im blessed to have in the criminal justice field) and then enlist in the USMC after i have a stable job and house? the ways about doing this are endless, and it's a stressful choice to make. also, will being in the USMC help me land a better job in law enforcment? thanks! p.s. the one job i don't want is to be an MP so will that limit my ways of making this decision?  more
