I found 2 old magazine the other day, one is called "Sport Illustrated - '95 - The Year in Pictures, and it has Michael Jordan on the cover, visible through out-of-focus people playing basketball. It is a pretty cool magazine, every page is a full page of pictures describing major points in sports in 1995. Cal Ripkin's 2131st consecutive game... Mike Tyson's return to boxing after 3 years in jail.. stuff like that, with real cool pictures. The other magazine that I found is called "The 1984 Kemper Open". I think it is some sort guide or catalog about a golf tournament in Bethesda MD. Both magazine have cool old ads in them, and I read that sometimes the ads can be worth more... There's this girl, we've been firends since we were like 10. Well now were both 14. Were both single. Her little brothers and my little brother hang out all the time and start stuff between us. There are no mounted weapons, no fancy laser targeting devices, no special 007 missles behind the headlights, no tear gas that gets released from the license plate; it's just a God damn truck. Not even that! It's a GOLF CART! There has to be a way I can purchase this. I am a customer! I will pay with CASH! Full ammount! Ok so there's this guy i kinda have a thing for. Hes very flirty and funny. He can be kind of a flirt with everyone, but its usually just people he knows so everyone knows he just acts like that sometimes. I work with him and sometimes i feel like he gives me special attention but then i second guess myself because the guys at my work feed off each other and all mess with me but i just get a different vibe from him sometimes. Anyway a few weeks ago he had a party and i ended up spending the night, i don't drink and he drank a little but wasn't really drunk that i could tell, but i ended up spending the night there and we slept next to each other and he cuddle up with me the whole night and it was nice ha. so like a week after that my friend talked me into asking him to the movies with her and her boyfriend and some other friends because him and i had been talking a lot. we didn't end up going to the movies because the theater lost power but he told one of his friends about that i invited him and his friend talked to my friend and she told his friend that i liked him. and then she talked to the guy i liked because they were working together one night and he was texting me and i guess he told her that he was interested in me but wanted to wait until we got to college to do anything ( he is a year older then me and is going to be a sophomore and im a in coming freshmen at the same school). I mentioned to him i was interested in learning to golf and so now he is excited about taking me golfing with some friends from work. Also lately ive noticed when he and the guys from work talk about girls he always makes it clear to me that he hasn't been with anyone in a while and when the guys talked about cute girls that come in the store he always tells them he would rather be with me than them. or that he has me so he doesn't need them. he can be very jokey so i just assume he is messing around but i cant help but feel there might be some truth to it? i don't know i guess my real question is when a guy says he is "interested" in a girl what does that really mean? im sure its different for every guy but im just curious! My whole life I've always liked more than just one guy at a time. This is because I never actually act on my crushes, except for a lot of befriending, talking, texting, and flirting. I mean, I've never had a boyfriend and I've never had my first kiss. I'm going to be a sophomore in high school in the fall. So, now I have a super hard decision to make. I'm so attracted to him, and he is really fun to talk to and text because he's always laughing. I've known him since the beginning of 8th grade and have always had an interest in him. but mine sucks all the time..even my friends know this. they make comments to me about it too but it doesn't help knowing that every one else agrees my dads a dick. what really makes me mad is the favorite game my dad plays. i have four siblings and they all get treated better than i do but my brother especially. when i turned twelve i got a bb gun, for my brothers birthday he got a $900 dirt bike. i don't own anything even close to being that expensive. i did have a job but i quit because after three months of working my parents got most of the money i made. we have a golf cart that im not aloud to use(my siblings are), and it broke. my dad made me give him $500 to fix it. if i left a bag of chips open or milk sitting out he would cuss and swear until i gave him twenty bucks for grocery's. he also would randomly make me give him money because i eat too much(im not fat btw). i started hoarding my money after i quit my job because my parents took the rest of the money in my savings account. for christmas i got an ipod touch and some t shirts. my brother got a laptop. that was fine with me cause it was only about a $300 laptop. but about two weeks later my brother wanted an ipod cause he liked mine allot. so my dad bought him one, no special occasion. i got my first phone for my 8th grade graduation. i had to pay for it so it was a pretty crappy phone but i was happy cause i could now go out with friends. my brother is starting 7th grade next year so my dad bought him a really nice newer phone. this was the same age my sister got her phone too. they don't pay for them though. you might think im just giving you all the negative crap but trust me, i have no special privileges over my siblings. they even get seniority over me when it comes to first in line to eat. there's millions of stories like these i could tell you but there's just not enough time to type them all out, besides im not even supposed to be using this computer anyway. ive thought about running away in the past but i always told myself that it would do me more harm than my parents. now that im older, i have a plan,i know my way around, im big enough to where no one would bother messing with me, and im fast enough to evade nosy cops, i think i can handle a few days without mommy and daddy. this is what happened that has pushed me over the edge. wednesday: after i finish working(working is literately manual labor for me, i was digging trenches and laying railroad ties and bricks and a bunch of other very physical things) from eight in the morning noon, my dad left to go price some gravel. he said i can leave and stay out till ten. so i went in took a shower and my friend picked me up. something i forgot to mention is im 17 and my birthday is in march. im not getting my license till im 18 because my parents were unhappy with my B- average in school.anyway my friend picked me up and we met up with some girls at his house. after hanging out for a while we decide to take a trip to the mall. the mall is about thirty minutes away from where we live. as soon as we get there my dad calls me and tells me to be home in ten minutes. i couldn't do that and i tried explaining that to him. there was no emergency, he just wanted me to go with to look at a lawnmower at my uncles. even though we had just got there i had to ask my friend to drive me all the way back home, ruining his and the girls day. i get home in under thirty minutes and i try to defend myself but i get grounded anyways. he does this after yelling at my friends including the girls for whatever they did wrong. i liked one of the girls but shes not talking to me anymore. my dad has been trying to make me do work without pay as punishment but punishment for what? i refuse cause i cant let him believe that whenever he wants me to do work for free he can just ground me. he has taken everything away from me, even the things i pay for like my phone and xbox and tv. im not aloud to leave my room from the time he leaves for work (12 pm) till my mom gets home(7pm). there isn't a date where im ungrounded either. as i type this my sisters are spitting on each other and saying the F word allot cause one is using the others paint (they are 15yr and 12yr) this is also a good time to add that im the most respectful to my parents and i never swear in front of them. my sisters however curse my mom to hell every night and she does nothing about it....my dad has been threatening me with the "ill pack your bags myself!!"Speech. yea well im gunna take him up on his offer. lets see how he does with my lazy ass siblings for a week or two. another reason why i haven't done this before is cause i want to have a life in the future. i actually plan on joining the marines i also ment to say this: if i was suicidal i would have torched my house in the middle of the night a long time ago. i have money and friends and places to go, i just want to hear some advise or tips from other people befor i go. and thank you to the people who have allready answered. a few more things i should add are: im not going to be living on the streets. and i do plan on moving out as soon as im 18, i just need something to be done now to show my dad im not messing around and he cant push me around. this is more of a lesson for him then anything. and im no coward. for me its more like walking away, and ill come back. i just want them to stew in this house without me for a while and have them see what its like without me for a while just so they can get a taste of whats to come when i leave for the military. and i know i want to join the military. and i have talked to my pastor about this(im the only one in my family that goes to church) and he believes everything has a pupose. more

I was trying to single-handedly do a church project that they had all agreed on with paper mesh and I don't think I told anybody about the project that I had initiated and tried to complete. When I was done a lady from church told me that they couldn't use my project because golf courses required special calculations of great precision in order to be put into place and that I had to use a baseline of measurements composed of a thin white sheet of paper with linear and triangular cut marks on it (the triangular cuts were at the bottom of the thin paper mesh) I was supposed to build my paper mesh based on that so I abandoned the project. Then an old male church leader created what looked to be like a Chinese dragon by cutting together some red pre-made patterned paper cuts that he had received from a bunch of 14 year old children and putting them together in an aesthetic form and completed the project. And I wandered how 14 year old children could create such beautiful artwork. Then I was in this group and the teacher said that he had a competition for us. We had to read as many books as possible and write as many critical reviews as possible about the books that we read. Whoever read the most books won. I thought about using simple children's books which were sometimes only 20 - 30 sentences long but then I had a better idea. I would write about chapters in the bible and I asked my teacher when using the bible, did he count biblical books as books Such as Deuteronomy --> one book. Genesis --> one book. Lamentations --> one book. Or did he count individual chapters within the bible as books? Was he looking at the big books of the bible or the subsets of each book as one book? I asked him this question twice and he didn't answer. He didn't know what I was talking about because he never read the bible. Then finally he gives me an answer. I then proceed to tell people about the 7 pursuits of Persia which I think are the 7 hills of Babylon, and then the ten distortions of Artemis which I think are the ten heads of Babylon... I also talked about the 7 abominations (bigotry, pride, exclusion, hypocrisy, manipulation, idolatry, possessiveness) and went into a discussion about that... all interpretations that I had made of different parts of revelations. Then I woke up. The paper mesh symbolizes how I'm trying to mold, shape and reform the gifts, and powers that have been given to me into potential and possibility for me, by using them in a creative circumstance disassociated from the circumstance I understand them to be in. The relationship that I initiated with Kyle was one sided because he never resplied or responded to my e-mails... and I was trying to create a relationship with him that was completely based one an one individual's initaite and effort. It was my intention to marry Kyle but I didn't tell anybody about that. When I had matured to the point where I could carry out this plan, a beautiful person of stature that I idolize and objectify came up to me told me that my relationship was useless because I didn't conform to social norms. In order for my personality to be accepted by others I had to market myself in a way that was communicable with other people's psychological standards and social expectations of conformity and intelligence was the most insignificant portion of that, the most valuable qualities were strength, charm, beauty, power, and observation. Instead of trying to conform to both social standards and biblical standards at the same time... I just abandoned the idea of chasing after this guy at all. Then an underlying humanistic nature within me that was stubborn and also dominating created ambition and passion out of a philosophy which was made by trying to delicately carve a path for myself that is appealing to others and this path was generated by the experiences that I had when I first received God with open arms and a pure heart. And I wandered how a mature person who had lived such a short time could live out such a beautiful vision. The teacher substitutes quantity with quality. And he subsitutes analyses with observation. When quality is neglected, quantity becomes useless. When observation is neglected, analysis becomes useless. The teacher is trying to build the latter which is the tithe, cummin, and dill and yet neglects the weighter provision of the law which are justice, mercy and faithfulness. The reader is also shallow because he is trying to study, create, judge and declare provision, rather than claiming and utilizing the provision he has already been given by applying it into his life. The student is impatient and doesn't take care of detail, or engage in the full process necessary to acheive the results that he wants. Instead he tries to cut corners and take short cuts. He tries to stick with things that are familiar to him and alien to others rather than embracing things that are necessary though not more

Why do Christians have to sink so low and play the religion card in court and always have to start with some statement like: "Well,your honor, I was just coming home from church....." If the judge jury is competent and goes only by fact and evidence to determine a case, then it should not even matter if a person is religious and goes to church. So it is apparent that these people hope that they can persuade a judge or jury who may be fellow believers in God and judge in their favor. These are the morals and actions of many religous people. Too bad atheists have to be more truthful and less godly because what could an atheist say in court? "Well, your honor, I was playing golf on Sunday morning...." I am 26 and wife is 25. It seems most people in the same age group just go out and drink all the time. I like to got out once in a while and have a drink but most of the buddies I have will go out 2 or 3 times a week to hit the drink specials. We like doing things like kayaking, bowling, movies, going out to dinner, concerts, etc.. My closest friend likes to drink, drink, watch golf while drinking. What this has done is gotten him to become a lot closer with the people he works with because they all go out and drink with him. And he used to invite me but I'm sorry I can't go out and drink 2 or 3 times a week when I work the next day. His job has less responsibility put on him as he works in a home improvement store so it doesn't matter if he shows up hungover. I have no issue with just going out to eat dinner with my wife. We have a great time and two or three times a month we go out with this other couple to eat and a movie. I also meet a buddy mine once maybe twice a week I just want more options as a couple to do things with other couples. I have met couples or parents that A. stay home alot and rarely go out. Doesn't have to many friends. B.Go out alot and meet up with a ton of friends C. Go out on the weekends and then meet up with people once in a while. (This is where we fall) My wife and I go out every Friday and Saturday night to eat and we are rarley at home on the weekends. We are always somewhere doing something. Resolved Question: why do I get looked at differently in societies eyes when I do everything alone?

I am a 21 year old male and every time I do something, whether its shopping, going to watch a movie, going to the mall, doing my groceries, moving or going to work I always get looked at. is it because I am single or something, because it is starting to get annoying, creepy and somewhat funny. I would rather do everything alone because I don't have to do anything special for anything, plus I have never been on a date or anything, and since I live in a very small community, every body knows that.
