Voting Question: Why is he acting like this?

So i'm to go camping, and my bf made me feel bad last night, and said I'm going to be "ditching" him. because he can't go camping because of work and he needs his hours for collage. and I told him I wouldn't go then, but he was all like "No, go. I just.. i'm sick of everyone ditching me. because of school or work or something. Its not far" Now I don't want to go camping, because he said i'll be ditching him, and i already did when my friend came down, and i didn't want my bf to come, because hes starting to act like an asshole. with teh full "OH SHES MINE, BACK OFF" I'm not his, i'm his girlfriend. but he got pissed over that, and said "See you ditched me tehre too" and my friend is to be coming down from ontario and I don't think she wants to hang out with me,a nd my bf. when shes here, and I told him that. and he was all like "wtf, so now none of your friends like me?" .___.;; UH its annoying. What can I do? I mean half of my reason is he says stupid stuff, like I told him my one friend is bi, and he asked her "ARE YOU BI?!" really stupidly. and hes acting like a gay man at times... that and if he does something stupid, he'll SIT THERE FOR A FUCKING HOUR AND WHINE AND SAY "i'm sorry i'm sorry. you hate me.. you hate me now. everyone hates me. I should die. i'm sorry -whines-" and then he won't want to hug or anything its just annoying. What can I do?? His starting to brother me already and i'm not a fan of men like him. I like him, but the way hes acting is starting to piss me off. and his scared I'm going to ditch him. and I'm not sure why. .__.;; Am I ditching him if i'm going camping with my friends? because they asked the both of us, and he said I COULD go even through he has work. is that still ditching? Oh yea, and he gets pissed if one of my friends asks him if his gay, when he ACTS gay. there like "Are you sure your not gay?" and I don't mean in the joking way. it goes in and out with him. my dad even thinks so when we went to go and play pool and my bf put his hands on his hips to see something.  more

Voting Question: Why is Ontario family law against African children and families and migrants' with children outside canada?

ONTARIO FAMILY COURT: PLEASE DON’T MURDER MY CHILDREN For all the years I have lived in Ontario and have been thinking that family courts are to settle issues arising between families until recently that I came to understand their nasty operation method of approving Ontario works falsified cases geared towards victimizing the other partner. It only takes any woman to walk to Ontario works. This is first step towards turning our children in raw materials for making money. If you can take time to investigate cases in family court especially if it concerns a black man/woman, you will never fail to find “She/he is violent, abusive and wants to run a way to Africa” If we wanted to stay in Africa why would we come here and after we are here why would we continue staying despite all the legal abuse, rights violations, false accusations, being termed criminals even without any crime committed and serious poverty we are put through even if we work as hard. This is evidenced with proof. For example am a father of 13 children three in Canada of which two were taken away from me as a result of false accusations started at Ontario works because my ex girl friend wants free money as she is too lazy to even carry a spoon from one end to another (case worker’s name withheld) then to kangaroo court at 74 woolwich street. In that court house, I couldn’t explain anything as poor and disabled as am, can’t afford a lawyer everything turned against me and all my children currently in Africa. I have never been either termed irresponsible by anybody even by my current wife mother of 10 kids in kyangwali Refugees camp whom I refer to as the heart of my heart. We have been married for19years without any problem but coming to Canada especially Ontario turned me and many more African families against each other for the benefit of certain burocrats. Now the order does not recognize my 10 children and garnishing everything for only two children who are better off than the 10 in a refugee camp in Uganda. I am kindly requesting since I can no longer be able to Sponsor my wife and the 10 children, Can the Ontario family court legally issue death sentence to those 10 and myself because its no use to be alive seeing them starving and my self suffering in a country I thought would give them a better future to us all. I don’t want to see 10 children whom I have been their primary care giver die of hunger and starvation ordered by Ontario family court because of two children whose mother is too lazy to contribute to family welfare by doing at least any simple part time job other than the so called social assistance cheque. Statistically 94% of African homes in Ontario have been biasely torn apart/separated compared to others through legal abuse, victimization, injustice and unfairness and promotion of business to those who don’t care about others. Now that I can’t help my still suffering in the refugee camp children, I love my children but now have no choice why can’t the same government through victimization order immediate death to me and my 11 children in Uganda so Ontario family court’s image won’t be tarnished when they die of starvation and myself and the 10 helpless children wouldn’t suffer anymore while you benefit. I was born in a religious home and I swore never to lie in order to win an anything even cases that’s why today an Ontario skunk is much worth than myself a foreign trained medical doctor currently having no choice but work in factory for survival which is instead being deprived of. Please Ontario family court, the faster you issue that death sentence to me and my 10 children suffering in Uganda the better because we can’t live when all our income is garnished through your order just for 2 children. Anticipating for that order before starvation kills me and my beloved 10 children and their mother who are currently helpless and starving at kyangwali refugee camp in Uganda. Kill me but kindly consider them as humans too and save them if you can as soon as possible. Faraji Ivan 25 Edmonton Drive Guelph-Ontario N1E2E1  more

Resolved Question: looking for resort/cottage for mom/daughter (5) mom needs rest! in ontario?

I have some time off and going to be spending it with my daughter. I'd love to get away with her. I'd like something with some dining for me and things for her to do, but can easily go camping. I'm looking for a place that has some organized things for her , so I can get a little time to myself. I need some relax time big time! Babysitting service would be a dream! Any suggestions out there? I was hoping to stay in ontario, as I would rather drive and not fly. But you are so right, you can't go wrong with Banff or Lake Louise.  more

Resolved Question: basketball help, serious, its long but plz i need hlp, PLZZ?

i dont understand this, this is a copy paste The NBA Draft is an annual North American event in which the National Basketball Association's (NBA) thirty teams (29 in the United States and one in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) can select players who wish to join the league. These players usually come from the college level, but in recent drafts a greater number of international and high school players have been drafted. As of the 2006 NBA Draft, high school players gain eligibility for draft selection one year after their graduating class has finished high school, but only if they also are at least 19 years of age as of the end of the calendar year of the draft. Selection process All American players are automatically eligible to enter the draft at the end of their college eligibility. Through the 2005 NBA Draft, American players were also allowed to declare eligibility for the draft at any time between high school graduation and the completion of their college eligibility. International players could declare eligibility in the calendar year of their 18th birthday, or later. The collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players union, which took effect with the 2005-06 NBA season, established new eligibility rules to end the former practice of high schoolers jumping to the NBA. The 2006 NBA Draft was the first under these new rules, which are: * All players must be at least 19 years of age during the calendar year of the draft. * A player who completed basketball eligibility at an American high school must also be at least one year removed from the graduation of his high school class. The agreement contains two draft declaration dates. All players who wish to be drafted, and are not automatically eligible, must declare their eligibility no later than 60 days before the draft. After this date, prospective draftees may attend NBA pre-draft camps and individual team workouts to show off their skills and obtain feedback regarding their draft positions. A player may withdraw his name from consideration from the draft at any time before the final declaration date, which is 10 days before the draft. A player who declares for the draft will lose his college eligibility, even if he is not drafted, if any of the following is true: * The player signs with an agent. * The player has declared for and withdrawn from a previous draft. Although the NBA collective bargaining agreement allows a player to withdraw twice, the NCAA only allows one withdrawal. When a player is selected in the first round of the draft, the team that selected him is required to sign him to at least a two-year contract with a team option for a third and fourth year. Teams own the rights to players selected in the second round for three years, but the teams are not required to sign them. im from canada so i didn't get the international part, i know I can make it, dont even say my chances are bad im good and i have faith in me  more

Resolved Question: Spider identification - Ontario?

Went camping on Lake Simcoe (Ontario) and found an interesting spider.I was hoping someone could help ID it.It had a big butt end shaped like a tear drop , was light grey or light brown and had a solid thick white stripe running down the middle of the butt. It's probably somebody common but I have never seen this one before. My flashlight has a funny bulb that casts a purplish light so we were unsure about the body colour but it was lightish. Our campsite was in the woods and covered with old dried leaves from last season. This spider only visited at night when we used a couple lanterns to light up the campsite. Can you help with ID or recommend a good field guide for insects & spiders in Ontario/Eastern Canada ?  more

Resolved Question: What size pack should I get for my canoe trip?

I need to get a new trip pack for the hiking & canoe tripping I'll be doing this summer up in Ontario. The tradition at the camp I'm going to is that you don't know the length of the trip you'll be going on until the night before, but I'm guessing it's going to be between 9-15 days. Not only that, but I want to be able to use this new pack for years to come. After this summer I hope to return to the same camp as a counselor, and take out younger girls on trips lasting anywhere between overnights and 8 days. My question is: what capacity should I look for in a new pack? I'll be carrying my sleeping bag, personal belongings, my share of the food, and the tent on days when it's my turn. Plus, this trip will be my first time portaging a canoe by myself, so my pack should be able to handle that. I'm only a 5' 3" girl, 16 years old, so I don't want to get anything too large. But I don't want to go too small either and not be able to carry my share. Does anyone have any suggestions of capacities (like liters or cubic inches)? Or any other advice in buying a new pack I should be aware of? Thanks a ton!  more

Voting Question: What are some wild, exciting parks to camp in northeastern US that do not have black flies in early june?

My girlfriend had been planning a week-long trip to Canada from June 6 - 12. We really wanted to go to Algonquin park, where we could hike in the wilderness and explore the lakes via canoe. However, we heard that the black flies and mosquitoes can be absolutely unbearable during this period, and now we are rethinking our plans. We will be departing our separate ways for a few months after this week, and we do not want something like the bugs putting a damper on our trip. Ideally, we would be able to park our car and set up a base campsite from which we can venture on day hikes, canoe trips, bike rides, etc. Preferably, there would be no RVs, and our site would be as secluded as possible. We do not normally have a problem with bugs, but apparently, in Algonquin, the Mosquitos and black flies are just insane during the late spring/early summer. The best case scenario would be if we could find a place in southern Ontario that has a manageable number of insects. If such a place in non-existent, the next best option would be to find an exciting, wild place in the Northeastern US with bearable insects. However, I have heard that even Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Adirondacks can be unbearably buggy in early June. If we cannot escape the bug season in the northeast, we would be looking for a wild place in NY, PA, or WV. I am from north central PA. We are open to the idea of overnight backpacking or canoing, too. Any suggestions?  more

Resolved Question: What are some things to do on a canoe/camping trip in Algonquin Park, Ontario?

We are going canoeing in Algonquin Park. And we need some ideals as to what we can do for fun, or something that we could make while in the bush? In the past my husband has made a walking stick and a paddle.  more

Resolved Question: How does Smart Serve Ontario work?

How does Smart Serve Ontario work? Do you need to apply for a server position first then take it? OR Do you take the test and training then look for a job? Cuz i tried applying for Spring Rolls Go. I have no work experience except co-op summer camp counseling. When i gave my resume to the manager in person he seemed to like how i talk to him. i do have that kind of effect with talking to people. I speak well and i can use words well. He took my resume but then he asked if i have a smart serve license, i told him i have no idea what that was. Then he told me what it was. So now i ordered it, do you think he will hire me if i take the training? Oh and he took my resume and told me to take the test and come back to him then he'll look for a placement for me, either at that place or somewhere else and told me it was nice talking to me  more

Resolved Question: Taking kids in RVs/Campers?

My dad has recently bought a used camper, that he has said we may borrow anytime, and my kids very badly want to go camping in it, but I am unsure of the laws about this. It is the kind that you drive, not a tow-able one, or a 5th wheel. The driver seat and the passenger seat have seat belts, but those are the only ones that do, as the rest of the camper is the living area. My kids are 6,5,4, and a baby that will turn 1 this summer. Does anyone know the rules and laws regarding taking the kids in a camper, since clearly there is nowhere to put carseats and boosters? I am looking for Canadian laws specifically. (Ontario) I dont want to plan a camping vacation untill we are sure that it is legal and possible with the kids. Thanks. it has been 30 years since my dad has had small children, so he has no reason to know what the laws about this are. I am the parent, and it is my responsibilty to find out, not the person i would be borrowing the RV from  more

Voting Question: Would this be a good idea? Or should I not worry?

I am going camping for a week at Long Point, Ontario. I was checking things out, and apparently Long Point has a lot of deer ticks (the ones that cause Lymes Disease). Out of all of Ontario, Long Point is the worse place with the ticks. Voting Question: Is it too cold to camp out in my backyard with friends? Ontario, Canada?

A few of my friends and I have found a night(finaly!) to get together, ironicly it happens to be 2 of their birthdays so the birthday girls decided that we would sleep outside in a tent. It will be in my backyard so I confirmed with my mom but she said it would be too cold! The temerature for the Thursday is 15 celcius then the next day is 16 celcius. We don't know the over night temperature yet but because it it's the end of April t shouldn't be to bad. And there will be 5 of us and probaby a dog so the body heat would increase the temperature in the tent, we will probaby have 2 laptops running and I know mine generates heat and I actually have used it to heat up my bedroom when it was kindof cold, so that will also help. So do you have any idea if this will work and any ways to convince my mom? I almost forgot that if it ends up being to cold we can move to my basement in the middle of the night, and we will probaby be in the hot tub that night so would that affect anything?(our hair WONT be getting wet) Thanks (I know the whole laptop heater thing isn't good for it but it's an ancient thing so I'm fine with it!)  more

I'm pretty sure Walden is pretty chill about stuff you bring, like you can bring nice clothes and stuff. But no electronics except for iPods. Haha, i'll probably bring my phone too though. By the way, I'm a 14 year old girl. So yeah, what should I bring ? Things I might forget ?  more

Resolved Question: Can I build this in Ontario without a building permit?

In Ontario, Canada anything over 108 square feet requires a building permit... basically a 9x12 structure. I bought a hunt camp and want to build an A-frame cabin, but want to make it bigger than 9x12 feet, so I thought about building two 9x12 lean-to cabins up against each other (maybe with one of the roofs overhanging the other), but in no way attach the lean-to's, so I would technically have two separate 9x12 structures. Would this work if a building inspector where to ever check it out. As a note, this with be built in the bush on my hunting camp property in Northern Ontario.  more

Resolved Question: what's a good summer camp?

I live in Toronto and was wondering if anyone knew any good summer camps in the area? I'm hoping that they are residential. Things that i'd love to go for:: acting, modeling, circus, Theatre, Dance There are a couple that I have been looking at, **young actors camp which is really far from where i live, (it's in california) youngactorscamp.com **Red Leaf Summer Camp This camp is also an acting camp in thornhill, ontario which is closer to where i live. It looks to be more filming and tv stuff. (it is roughly with residence $2000) **Camp muskoka Camp muskoka isn't a acting camp, but i am looking at the C.I.T leadership sessions. i have been to Camp muskoka when i was younger and it was not that bad, but fun.
