Resolved Question: What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting a leather or fabric sofa?
I'm thinking of getting a couple of sofa's for my flat, and can't decide between leather sofas or fabric sofas...
moreResolved Question: LGBT, Technical question to both gays and lesbians seriously no offense intended)?
To gays...
I've couple of gay videos yesterday only for inquisitive reasons and i noticed that not even in one single video, the guy who was at the receiving end, his penis was not erect, how come ? if someone is doing anal on you and your feeling the pleasure than your penis should be erect ? is it not...obviously i don't what you feel like so there could be a reason or reasons why your penis is not erect in this situation....what are they ?
To lesbians..
How come scissor is pleasurable ? in fact it should be unsatisfactory cause there's only friction on the surface of vagina not inside ? as for dildos its made of rubber not skin. so when you don't feel anything when rubbing your naked body against a leather sofa, how come you feel pleasured with rubber inside your vagina ?
moreResolved Question: Is it hypocritical for a vegetarian to wear leather?
Okay, so for a few months I've been a vegetarian - and so immediately thought then that it would be hypocritical to still wear leather, so I haven't. But the thing that's struck me now is...well I sit on a leather sofa, and the inside of my car is leather...so how exactly is that any less hypocritical than wearing leather? Leather is just EVERYWHERE, how can I avoid it?!
Plus that it's a big sacrifice for me. I mean I love shoes and I really wanted some nice gloves, but I've found it so hard looking around for non-leather shoes etc! The only ones I have found have been ugly or so expensive that I'd just have to walk around in my canvas boots all the time which wouldn't make me feel great :( AND I want to ride a motorbike maybe sometime which I've been wanting to do for years - and I wouldn't be able to do that because I'd have to wear leather! Now, I would make this sacrifice if I thought it would be good, but if it's just a futile effort since I'm surrounded by and using leather all the time anyway should I carry on with this?
I was talking to a friend the other day about it (she's a vegetarian as well) and she wears leather. She said, "Well it's good to use all of the animal." I have to agree with that. I hate the way cows are killed but surely it's good to make as much use of their deaths as possible? I don't know...I'm so confused...
I know it's still probably hypocritical to wear leather and not eat meat because I care about animal welfare - but I just don't see how I can avoid it!!
Oh, and I didn't ask this to be lectured either.

"I'm looking for a two seater sofa bed for a small sitting room that is also used as a bedroom for my brother (aged 21) when he visits. Hello, in 3 weeks I'll be moving into my new house and I needed help with flooring ideas and Walls.
The room is rectangular. We have ordered a black leather sofa (corner group), there's is stairs in the room that are a glossy White colour. Right now they have carpets but we would really like hard flooring, wether it's laminate, tiles etc. I just don't know what colour would go best, and what flooring is available. Does anyone have photos or suggestions of what flooring, wall colours and also heater covers that would match the black and White? Thanks

I have a leather sofa that is sometimes cold to sit on, and a middle aged relative always places the cushion flat down and sits right down on it, so it comes out between their thighs. To me this seems disgusting and inconsiderate of others who want to sit on the sofa and lean back on the cushion.

moreResolved Question: Cleaning a cream leather sofa.?
I have just been given a cream leather sofa and its in good condition with no rips or cracking.... however, it is really dirty and wreaks of smoke. I have two small children and don't smoke so it is very noticeable to us. Can anyone suggest anything to clean many layers of grime off it and get rid of the smell. I have cleaned it with hot soapy water and got some dirt off but it still stinks and isn't as clean as I would like. I would prefer something I could make at home, or something I already have in the house rather than having to go out and buy a product.
Thanks in advance!

moreResolved Question: Kind of an update on the vet & lilly's "sarcoid" and a question too :)?
So people who have been keeping track of my questions will know that my new pony (with any luck) was vet checked before we got her and the vet said that this small lump might be a sarcoid/melanoma and the vet decided to point it out after we had made a delivery date and paid a deposit. The vet went out yesterday and did a biopsy (for £50 cheaper than what we, or her current owner more like, should have paid for the vets shodding work.)
He went out and cut out the lump, my poor pony has 2 stitches that need to be taken out next friday, and we get the results next monday/tuesday.
We didn't go out because i couldn't bare to watch her being cut and stitched up, any other animal i'm fine with but my own pony... No. But he got there and he says "She's got a few more now." The owners reply "She has been out in the field all week without any fly protection. As i said a million times, it's a fly bite." It does actually look like a horse-fly bite, raised lump, hard in the middle then softens, slightly volcano shaped. Anyway, i'm pretty damn pleased because:
1. The owner is a trader, she bought Lilly from another trader.
2. The owner paid the £100 and we didn't have to pay anything.
3. She's got more "lumps" now after being in the field for a week with no fly protection on other than a tiny bit of cheap fly spray which is a promising sign.
We had a biopsy done because after the vet says something it put some doubt in our minds so it was better to have it done and for her to be clear than have to have her put her down because the insurance company won't cover her if she has cancer.
Anyway, the question.
Here is what i've got so far for her (we bought it before the vet decided to mention that she might have cancer.)
- Feed and water buckets (They're the rubber tub-trug things)
- A cooler.
- Hay net (don't bother saying "don't use one." In england it's what we use, get over it.)
- Salt lick.
- Leadrope.
- Headcollar.
- Tack, saddle fitted too which has really p**sed us off especially since it's sat on the sofa arm and keeps staring at me!)
- Lunge line.
- Grooming kit.
- Mane and tail conditioner.
- Fly spray.
- Shampoo.
My mum is picking up my stirrup leathers, a new brush and 2 numnahs tomorrow (Winter one and summer one.)
We need a fly mask and fly rug but we aren't getting any more rugs until we have tried this cooler on her because the owner said she'll be around 5'9, 6'0 or 6'3. (helpful i know!)
Anything else that i'm missing? I'm at a livery yard so i don't really need my own tools like saddle racks and mucking out tools until i have everything else.
Also, where the lump used to be is right underneath the saddle area. How long should i wait until i can ride (after the stitches have been taken out?
moreVoting Question: Should I buy a leather couch?
I have 2 dogs (about 60 pounds each) and 3 cats (1 is declawed). I really want a leather couch so I don't have to worry about vacuuming pet hair but I am worried about the cats scratching the sofa by jumping up onto the back of it? I can train the dogs from getting on the furniture but the cats are another story...
Does anyone have a leather couch with pets? What grade of leather is the best? I was looking at some couches in the $400-$500 dollar range - new from a furniture store.
Black or dark brown? Which is best for hiding scratches IF they do get damaged?

I woke up on the guest bed, drooling. I overheard my parents talking of my homecoming downstairs.
“He’s obviously under the influence of drugs!” Mom hissed.
“He came home for a reason, Harriet. He wants help, whether he knows it or not.” Dad argued.
“Richard, he’s not a boy anymore, he’s a young man. He needs to help himself. I want him here, I love him to death. But, look at him Richard! He’s all drugged up on pot or whatever.” Mom cried.
“I know,” Dad sighed. “I know, Harriet.”
I pulled the egg shell pillow over my head. I didn’t want to listen anymore. I felt like a small boy eavesdropping on my parents. It was childish, but I had to know their thoughts. They didn’t want me here unless I was perfect.
I got up and slid open the window. I looked down at the grass below. A two-story drop. It wouldn’t matter. If I broke my leg, at least I wouldn’t feel it, the drugs still ran through my system. I sat on the window’s ledge and jumped out into the night. Air rushed past me. My arms flailed. I landed with a low thud. My knees slapped the soil and my fingers crusted through the thin blades of grass. I stood up and brushed off my pants and looked around. The house hadn’t changed much ever since I moved out years before.
“Jackson, when are you coming home?” Mason whispered out the window. I turned to see his little head sticking out of the window. I was about to answer, which I was scared to do, but Mason’s head disappeared and I could hear his footsteps trailing out of his room from inside the open window.
Mason came running outside towards me from the doggy door in the back. I’m surprised he still fit through that thing. Rosy waddled behind him, trying to keep up.
“Jackson, you missed my sixth birthday.” Mason whimpered.
“I know, I’m sorry little man. I just… got caught up with some stuff. Shouldn’t you and Rosy be asleep?” I whispered, kneeling down to his level.
“You missed Rosy’s third birthday, too.” Mason continued.
“Yes.” Rosy frowned.
“I love you both and I promise, I’ll be here next week for Christmas. Now, go back inside.” I turned around and was about to sprint.
“Big brother, you said you were going to take me fishing two years ago, and you said you’d take me to the skate park over the phone last year. You told Rosy you had a present for her, but it never came by the mailman. So won’t you stay?” Mason said. I could tell he was trying to be brave but he looked like he was going to burst into tears.
“All right, I’ll stay a little longer.” I said. I could feel the drugs flushing from my system. “Go back inside.”
They ran through the dog door, Mason letting his little sister go in first. I stayed outside for a minute. Dare I run? I couldn’t do that. It was an impossibility. I walked back to the front of the house and walked through the door.
Mom blinked. “When were you outside?”
“I needed some air.” I mumbled, starting back upstairs.
“Now, you wait a minute young man.” Mom exclaimed.
I knew this was coming. A talk with my parents, possibly some negotiation.
“Yeah,” I sighed while turning around and collapsing into a plush leather sofa.
“We understand your problem, but you know we can fix this. Your… illness. This is killing you, Jackson. Look, we will let you stay in this house only if you agree to take counseling. Your father knows a man who can help.” Mom told me. Her breathing was scary.
“Robert Moore.” Dad nodded.
“Why don’t you just say it? I’m on the glue. I do drugs! I’m a failure as a son, and you can just say you wish that I had just turned out like Jeffery! But I didn’t! I’m so sorry you can’t have all good children, dad. And mom, I’m sorry you cried last night when I came home and passed out on the couch. But I don’t need any of your help!” I shouted.
“Jackson, calm down.”Mom ushered.
I stomped upstairs and locked the door in the guest room. I paced beside the dresser, thinking. My brow was furrowed the whole time. My head was dripping with sweat and my palms twitched endlessly.
I couldn’t help letting out a loud snarl as I kicked the wall. My Angel Dust, the drug I take most often, was up and going again, giving me super human strength.
“What was that sound?” Mom whispered, her voice raspy against the door.
My breathing was dark and loud.
“Jackson? Let me in. Are you alright?” She pressed.
“Are you there?” She asked.
“Yes, mom. I’m here.” I let out a breath. I would never hurt her. She’s very frail and weak as it is. I unlocked the door.
“Where have you been these past years. Tell me, please. No lying to your mom, got it?”
“I’ve been… in Colorado. Living it up with Horatio and the gang.” I admitted.
“Gang.” She repeated. “You didn’t… do
it cut off a bit but whatever...
moreResolved Question: boredom, jealousy or just misbehaving?
i have a staffordshire bull terrier who i must make it clear she is a much loved FAMILY pet so please only serious answers that aren't going to comment on my punctuation:) any way recently i have noticed significant changes in her behaviour that have alarmed me. It started with chewing up the sofa yes my leather sofa and oh boy did she know about it, but since then its moved on to my sons stuff like his teddies, (im going to point out here that she has always been allowed teddies but its been made very clear that my sons teddies are his and her teddies are hers and she seemed to understand the boundary between this) she has been chastised for this and it seemed to work, but then she has moved onto my sons new bed, his mattress to be precise and she has chewed a big hole in it, this has been nipped in the bud before she can make it any worse, there is now a dog guard fixed to his door way and she only goes upstairs if im there with her but now she is at his toys in the garden and its got me thinking a bit could this be a sign of an illness or boredom or is she acting out of jealousy or is she being mischievous?. I have recently had another baby so im unable to walk her as often as id like and for as long as id like, i used to take her on a five mile walk every other day then a 3 mile the other, plus at least once around the park a day where i used to live ,but now im lucky to get her out once a month for a long walk, i mean she gets a walk around the park every day near where i live now, which is a lot bigger but has to be kept on the lead a lot due to the amount of other dogs around, also i have found a bump under her skin and just thought it was a bite so did not act on it, but now due to the behaviour change im not too sure.
please only answer if your going to be serious and do not comment on how shouldn't have a staff with kids as i am fully aware of how much damage these types of dogs can cause due to the ability to lock their jaws, ive seen it first hand...

We've had a mouse, it's been here for several weeks. We've tried every trap possible so in a final attempt before calling in an expert we put mouse poison down.. my cat (who lives upstairs) is going mad this morning.. crying outside the door and once in the room is sniffing around like mad.
I could leave my cat in this room to catch it but my cat likes to ruin my leather sofa so it's not been an option.
But i was wondering if the cat can smell the mouse or the poison?????
ha ha you want a bet Nathan? we have supermouse! it's jumping over traps and even taking food off somehow without them going off and the traps are in fine working order.. he's a very clever mouse.
I wouldn't want to kill it, only me and my partner are petried of it.. ha ha. a little mouse but yeah we are scared sh*tless. If i could get it out alive i would but i have twin babies and need it gone as soon as possible. And yes we have tried Peanut butter for 2 weeks now!

My cat lives upstairs and is no where near the poison, i let her in this morning cause she was going mad outside but the poison is on traps behind the fireguard so she can't get to it anyway. And no he is still alive cause we have glue traps all around his hiding place and no sign of him even coming out at all last night. Maybe he saw the new traps! he's supermouse and very clever indeed.

moreResolved Question: Help! My jeans turn everything around them blue!?
I have some new jeans, which I have washed several times, but the problem still occurs. I end up with blue rings round my ankles and my hands turn blue if i have my hands on my lap or if i sit on a pale coloured sofa it also goes blue. They have ruined my favourite bag by turning all the leather blue because the bag has been rubbing against my leg. They are £90 Ted Baker jeans so they're not bad quality. I need to stop this happening because they're my favourite jeans and they cost me a fair bit. Has anyone got any suggestions to stop this happening? Anything I can put in the wash to 'seal in' the colour? I will try anything :) Thanks!
Ive only washed them a few times. I don't over wash so its not that. I will give the salt and vinegar thing a try, just hope I don't end up smelling of a bag of chips!! haha
moreResolved Question: What's the best way to discipline a rabbit?
I have a two-year-old English Angora bunny. She's very happy and well-taken care of, she can go upstairs or downstairs, inside or outside freely, and she has lots of toys. She's well-fed and has a large cage, so even when she's locked up she still has freedom and toys. Normally she's very well behaved, but the problem is that she digs on the furniture. We have a place in the backyard she can dig to her heart's content, the problem is when she comes inside and jumps on the leather sofa she starts to dig on it. We keep her nails well-groomed and rounded so it hasn't caused a problem yet, but sooner or later she's going to scratch it or put a hole in it. How do we stop her from digging?
P.S. She only digs when we're sitting on the sofa next to her, by herself she just sits down. Connection?
P.P.S; I don't pay attention to trolls, so things like "cut off her head" or "break her spine" are going to be ignored.

moreResolved Question: What is a inexpensive, but comfortable sofa lounger for my first apartment?
I've been looking around and I can only find either a cheap sofa lounger that is not comfortable or a comfy one that is not cheap. Does anyone know of a good place to find a decent sofa lounger, besides IKEA (unless you have personally had a good experience with it)? It will be used mostly as a couch in my little studio apt, and also for guests to sleep on every once in a while. I would prefer to spend no more than 200-300 dollars and I would like it to be black microfiber, not leather. I found one on Kmart's website, it's called the Elite Mali Flex Capital Collection Futon, but it only has 3 reviews (all good). I'm sceptical to buy it though because I haven't tried it out for myself ( they didn't have it at the store, only online). Has anyone had one of these or know anything about the brand? Any info would be helpful!! Thank you =]
moreVoting Question: Can I allow my new kitten in my living room when I'm there and not when i'm not there?
Hello, thanks all for reading
I have a new kitten, which i will collect tomorrow as well as a new flat as of today, I've been brought up with cats but never with small kittens however I'm very good with animals.
My new flat is a small flat in the city, so the kitten will be indoors only as a kitten aswell as in adulthood. My flat has a hallway of about 5.5/6 metres which leads to the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
I know it's recommended to confine a new kitten to about one place to start off with and work gradually from there but I'm not a fan of this, and I feel with my flat being the size it is, this would not be great for the kitten.
My main issue is that in the living room I have a leather sofa, and until I can see that he'll use the scratching post and not go for the leather, I'm not prepared to leave him alone in the living room - after I've seen how he'll be towards the sofa, I will/shall leave him unattended in the living room.
I want to know if it will be okay, him being a new kitten, to have him from day one in the living room with me when I'm there but come sleeping time or work to close off that door. Should this be okay? Or will it just add confusion to him initially? he will have the run of the rest of the house. Also I'd like your opinions on my set up, I plan to have his bed in the far end of the hallway near the heater and his litter tray 3 metres roughly maybe 4 away at the top end and his food and water bowls in the kitchen. Does this set up seem okay? I know cats are very fussy when it comes to sleeping and doing the toilet nearby but this seems the best solution for the time being until I can fully open the living room to him. And any ideas about the scratch post as to where i should put this for just now?
Thanks for reading, sorry it was so long..
Please no time wasting idiotic answers.
:)
Thanks all for your tips so far but what I really want to know if can I let him in to the living room when I'm there only, bearing in mind he's only 9 weeks and i mean from day one of him being with us and what do you think about my proposed layout?
moreResolved Question: For all teenagers. What do you think of my writing?
For all teenagers. What do you think of my writing?
Chapter one.
Jack crow sprawled at his armchair; his feet standing apart. He was reading a hard covered, red book with a title written in golden letters. He pressed the edge of his pipe under his lips as the Fumes twirled out of it, intertwining at the silver chandelier that hung from the Paige ceiling. He blinked twice at the yellow paper, and after shaking his head vigorously, he rubbed his eyes with his knuckles and got to his feet. He placed the book at the mantelpiece beside the silver framed picture of his son. He smiled at his son, remembering the first time he held him in his arms; caressing his brown hair and gazing deep into his blue eyes that seemed like two sunshines, igniting his life for the first time. He walked to the window and opened it. Breathing in, he closed his eyes and searched for a moment of inner silence, but he could not find it for the burdens dashed back at him with vigor, bringing his mind to the usual state of restlessness.
He dipped his hand into his coat’s side pocket and felt with the edges of his fingers a coarse, folded paper. After sighing and lowering his head to the ground, he took it out and looked at it with fear swirling in his eyes. He must hide the map.
After having a cup of coffee, he sauntered to his office at the upper floor. The door had a large sign of two fingers shaped in a V. Inside, Crumbled papers formed a circle around the dustbin; a tower of tomes had fallen over his desk; and an unopened box, wrapped in red and green paper, from his wife, sagged on one side against the wall.
He hugged the coats at his sofa and threw them in one pile at a far corner beside the tall window. Then he returned and dipped his hand between the cushions, searching for his cellular. After finding it, he quickly dialed a three-digit number. It rang four times. “Frost,” Jack said, after a husky voice replied. “I can’t keep it any longer. I just can’t.”
“What’s wrong, Crow?” Frost said, coughing twice. “We’ve talked about this thing before. The map is yours.”
“It’s not,” He whispered angrily, “they’ll kill me; don’t you understand? I have a family.”
“They don’t know the map is with you,” Frost said, “They believe it’s still hidden at the head quarters. The map will remain with you for a month and then Denver will have it. We have no one else to trust but both of you.”
James sat at the black, leather chair, pressing the wooden arm with parted fingers. “Fine, send it to Denver, now. At least, he doesn’t have anyone to loose.”
“Denver traveled last week to see his dying mother in Switzerland; he’ll be back in a month or two.” He coughed again and a glass crashed to the ground beside him. “Ohh…wait a minute.”
Jack stiffened over the chair. The cellular trembled over his ear. “They’ll kill me, Frost.”
“They won’t.” He said, “I’ll have to go now.” The cellular peeped at Jack. He got to his feet and walked to the hearth. Pressing his lips, he flung the cellular at the wall. It crashed and fell apart to the ground.

moreResolved Question: What do you think of this excerpt from my story?
“You know you’re the first person to ever find out without Headmaster Gustavo deciding if he wants you to know or not, right?” Olivia/Kamili said as soon as I walked in. The first thing I noticed about her was that she had a thick Australian accent. Olivia/Kamili was lying on the leather sofa, her long spindling legs dangling off the edge. She had pale blond hair that was fashioned into a bob and I couldn’t help but think that she should model. She stared at me with light blue eyes and said, “Hey, I’m Olivia.”
“Maria.” I said.
She swung her legs over the side of the couch and stood up. She was skinnier and at least a head taller than me. “So how’d you do it?”
“Do what?” I asked and then I remembered why I was here. “Oh. Find out, you mean? I broke in.”
She nodded and circled me, probably doing a quick evaluation of the new kid. “You don’t look like a spy.” She finally said.
I smiled. “Isn’t that the point?”
Olivia grinned and outstretched her hand. “Welcome to ALIAS, spy school.”

moreResolved Question: Could I Be Medically Classed As Anorexic?
I'm asking this question due to a frustration that has sustained itself for most of my life, and also, the particular concern of my parents regarding these 'issues'. Basically, I'm confused, and I would rather receive the speculations of the 'public' than visit a Doctor and be ruthlessly scrutinised.
Anyway. I've always encountered problems when it comes down to food. I'm a ballerina at a professional dance school in England, and I've never really had time for eating - because I'm always on my way to a dance lesson, I tend to grab quick nutritious snacks. Also, I despise "overeating" because it is uncomfortable to perform on a full stomach, and I'm the one who has to stare at myself in a leotard in front of the studio mirrors; therefore, I do not want to feel disgusted by that sight.
The thing is, I am. And the scary thing is, I have been since I was eight... nine. Way before I began the awkward stages of puberty. I've always been hideously aware of my body, so much so, that I've even been through periods of such stress that I've attempted to personally remove extra flesh. As you can imagine, when my parents discovered this, they were more than perturbed.
Due to my anemia, I visit the Doctor's quite often. On these events, they weigh me, and I am told that my BMI is 18.8. I am 5'9. This is supposedly healthy. But something chokes inside my head and tells me that I don't want to be healthy. I want to walk down the street and for people to look at me and think, "Goodness, doesn't she look sick?"
When I mentioned this briefly to my step-dad, his reply was, "But you don't look healthy. Your skin is very, very pale. Your eyes are rimmed with bruise lilac. You're thin." Obviously, I don't believe him in the slightest.
When I look in the mirror, I want to vomit.
I spend way too much of the day, pinching at the fat on my thighs, buttocks and arms. I can't even sit down on the sofa in my lounge without feeling discomfort at how the fat on my thighs is splayed across the leather, and I tend to cover up my arms with long sleeves, so that no one can see the fat that gathers when I bend my elbow.
Every morning, I take a thirty-minute run around my local park. I perform one-hundred consecutive abdomen crunches, and I visit the gym for an hour - alongside my daily dance classes, which range between two one-hour classes, to four.
I don't eat breakfast, (unless it is the weekend: when I snack on a piece of fruit) and I don't eat anything for midday lunch. My dinner at teatime usually consists of green salad, one piece of fruit and a mug of green tea. Between dance classes, I sometimes crunch on half a piece of plain dark rye Ryvita crispbread. Other than that, that is all.
That is all, but sometimes, it is nothing. Wednesdays tend to be my 'starving' days, and I religiously abstain from sustenance on these days weekly - which probably relates to my OCD. However, the longest that I have gone without food was two weeks.
On one of these starvation 'events', I passed out during a strenuous ballet class. Once I was revived, I managed to convince those who were witness, and later my parents, that the momentary lapse was due to my anemia and recent stress due to an upcoming dance audition.
I'm not sure whether they believed me or not, but I felt bad anyway for lying to cover up my filthy habits.
So, basically I'm feeling lost. I've planned to begin starvation once more tomorrow, and I would like to try to persist for as long as possible this time. But on the other hand, I feel extremely vulnerable and I am thinking lucidly about the consequences of my actions. I can't really be ill, can I?
Anorexia nervosa is something that you read about all the time in the news. It is reported as the biggest killer of all psychiatric illnesses, and so frequently blames the media, for imposing unhealthy aspirations upon young people. Ballet schools such as mine are particularly notorious for provoking eating disorders - almost as famously as the fashion industry. But surely it cannot be happening to me too?
I am aware that I show the symptoms, but I honestly just want to be thinner. I know that if I'm thinner, I'll be happier. I'm sure that I could stop at anytime.
So why do I feel so out of control...?
Please. I'd be really thankful for some support. Do you think that I have a problem?

moreResolved Question: would you have left him too?
I met a man in may 2008. things were fantastic. we moved in together in july 2008, then i moved into his house in march 2009 and we had a baby girl born may 2009. in october 2009 we went out to the rugby and he got leathered. he was so drunk he urinated in someones front garden on the way home and was walking in the middle of the road. when we got home he became very angry and was shouting at me very aggressively for reasons i could not understand. at one point he ran upstairs to where i was in bed and burst intothe bedroom shouting and yelling at me and raised his hand to hit me. I cowered under the bed sheets stupidly thinking theyd make it hurt less if he did hit me. I ran when he went downsairs and locked myself in the bathroom but then he came back up and was banging on the door so hard i thought he was going to come through it. he went then and i didnt see him again that night or following day. sometime during all this he had phoned my dad to tell him to ring me and check i was ok, when my dad rang i was distraught and terrified. nothing my dad could do.
things calmed down after this for a while- although it took about a week and he didnt offer any apology for what he had done.
things were okish until january when he started shouting at me again at around 4am. i lay there pretending to be asleep and he stormed off downstairs to rant to himself on the sofa and watch tv. he was also shouting at our daughter for crying around this time which made her more upset. also shouting at my son who is 4 years old and he said to me that he didnt like the man because he shouted all the time. i took the children and moved to my parents for around a week but my parents, being christians, urged me to give him another chance. so we all moved back again.
On mother's day at arond 4am he started again so I got out of bed calmly and went to sleep on the sofa downstairs. he followed me down and was ranting about money. he threw the cushions and pads off the sofa with me sat on it. i was so scared i was curled up in a ball on the sofa shouting at him to get away from me. then we went ot for a meal at lunchtime with my parents and he was nice as pie, as if nothing had happened. the children were both upstairs when this was going on.
things were ok ish until easter sunday when he lost his temper again after working nights in work. He shouted at me very aggressively again with the children in the room, upsetting my son. he then shouted at my son which made him even more upset. he stormed out of the house so i locked the front door to keep him away from us but when he returned a short while later he was bashing the door and threatening to break the door in. he asked my son to open the door which he then did. i took the children out for the rest of the day to keep out of his way but then got text messages all day saying that i had left him alone over easter and how bad it was that he had to spend his one day off over the easter weekend all alone.
two weeks ago my purse got stolen from the pushchair whilst on holiday in essex. that night at around 11pm he woke me up inthe hotel room having downed a full bottle of wine in the time between casualty- when i had fallen asleep- and 11pm. he was ranting about money again. i pretended to be asleep and he got tired of ranting at me and left the room. i didnt want to lock him out because i figured there'd be trouble if he bashed the door in the middle of the night in a hotel, the next thin i heard was him throwing up violently in the hotel bathroom. in the morning my son needed the toilet and a shower but the bathroom floor, sink and worktop were covered in vomit. i asked him to clea it up and he was still swaying and slurring his words and found he whole thing hilarious. i told my son to stay away from him because he was drunk on too much adult pop. i had to cover the bathroom floor and carpet outside the bathroom with hoteel towels and carry my son into the bathroom. it was foul. he was souting at my son who was very upsetand didnt understand what was going on. i kept saying to him that my son was only 4 but he carried on ranting at him none the less. eventually he left the hotel room leaving his key card behind so i knw we were safe. he rang my dad and my dad could hear he was drunk from his speech so told him to leave us alone and get the train home, which after a day of abusive phonecalls to me, my parents and friends in essex he did. I never went back there after that, when we got back from essex we came straight to my mums and have been here since. He has been texting to try and sort things out because he wants us all to be a family and that i'm cutting off my nose to spite my face, being stubborn. Thing is- I met him last sunday and said he could have one last chance to have the family he says he wants but he would have to admit he has a problem with drink and with anger and sort them out, then in the future maybe we could start dating really slowly keeping the chi

Hi
My husband dropped gloss on our sofa whilst decorating and I quickly tried to clean it off with nitromors (big mistake) then I phoned a cleaning company who came out but told me straight away that it was impossible to remove. I phoned my insurance company who sent an assessor out this morning. The good news is that it can be fixed and a specialist cleaning company is being arranged. I am relieved about this as my late Gran bought us the Sofa, however after the assessor left I noticed that there is little blistered holes along the seam on the seats (kinda in between the cushions) and on the backrest, caused my the Nitromors I assume because I would've noticed this before now. I don't know what to do. Do I wait on the cleaning company coming out or do I phone my insurance company now and explain to them. The assessor never noticed these either, well I assume he never because he never mentioned them.

moreResolved Question: Trying to pick a wall colour... help?
I have a piece of antique furniture that's sort of shabby-chic and painted a dark turquoise.
Dark brown leather sofa. Dark brown coffee table.
Curtains are grand floor-to-ceiling taking up an entire wall because the window takes up one whole wall, and they are like a wine/marroon on either side and then a muted greyish green (it goes well with the turquoise piece of furniture so that ties it all in).
Right now I want to paint one wall - the wall behind my leather couch.
I have no idea which direction to go in. Also, since it's a rental, I have to make sure it's a light enough colour that I can paint over it easily without having to do a million coats when I move out.
Should I go in the turquoise direction? I don't really want a turquoise wall.
Should I go in the wine/maroon direction? I might end up with a darker wall colour than I'd like - just for painting over it's sake.
Or should I go for an entirely different colour? I'm afraid of introducing another colour into this scheme, it might end up looking too weird and throwing the whole room off. Help!
