Resolved Question: What happens when you miss a connecting flight because of the airline?
Going to San Fran from NY for 2 days (YES, BRUTAL) in 2 weeks.First flight is in the evening from a small airport to Dulles.I've been tracking this flight and it often leaves a little late but nothing dire.I have a little over an hour between flights.
However, last night,my flight to San Fran left from Dulles 10 minutes before my 1st flight arrived, so I would have missed my plane. The next flight to San Fran doesn't leave until early the next morning. I am a 55 yr old woman, traveling alone with no checked bags.
What could I expect? Would they get me a hotel room?
Thanks, all..There is an hour + between the flights when they're on time so I felt OK with it. I figured up to 30 late would be Ok, as long as I run..:)
I have checked ALL the airline schedules and see that there is no flight after my 10PM flight until 6-ish the next day. I do not relish the thought of spending the night in the airport.
I will lose my rez at The Airport Hyatt in San Fran,too,since it will after the time I am able to cancel the room.
I was hoping United would be required to put me up somewhere, since it would be their fault I missed my flight. Already paying for a room for an on time arrival, didn't want to have to pay for a room I can't use AND a room to sleep in!!

I'm flying down to Florida to visit my boyfriend's dad (my boyfriend is flying down two days before me since this is very last minute and I have work) on Sunday from upstate New York. Because his dad is ALWAYS flying my flight got bumped to first class (so no, I am not at all trying to brag) since he booked it for me. I've never been on a plane before and I am still kind of in the dark of what to do, what to and to not bring, where to go, when to go there, etc. My flight stops in Philly too so I don't know what to do about that either. Can you explain to me how the whole boarding process goes so that maybe on Sunday I'll have an idea of what to do???

Alright so here's the deal, let me explain a little bit. There is this girl I met last year november and I "like" her ever since. There is one problem, she lives in the US and I live in Europe. We have been talking ever since, kissed her couple of times yada yada.. Well thing is she couldnt wait to see me again, was going to the US in June again. Booked the flight in march I think. But she forgot to tell me about her, at that time, ex boyfriend. Her ex boyfriend asked her to marry her(kinda weird), she could choose between being with him or wait for me, say no to him and having a relationship that is nearly impossible since there is 5500 miles between us, so she choose him. The reason for it is probably that she is afraid to be alone again (problems with parents), atleast thats what I think and a couple of friends of her told me.
Ofcourse, I didnt want to cancel my flight and decided to go on vacation, a good friend of mine came with me. The place we went to was around 30 minutes from her place and she even asked me if I wanted to come to her marridge but I just couldnt and didn't want to go there. Well, nice story but heres the thing.
The past few weeks I keep dreaming about her, not just talking with her in my dreams but more "serious" stuff, like a family, altho I don't have any plans to make one or even thought about it before in my whole life.
Should I tell her? I know she still has feelings for me, she said it but we haven't talked since the day she got married (month ago or so). I thought I wasn't in love with her anymore but now I keep dreaming about her.
Another thing is that when I used to dream and she was in it, all the things that happend in the dreams happend later in real life too. Freaky..

What Congress gives, Congress can take away. When the dust finally settled from one of the most rancorous and partisan appropriations processes in recent memory, the big funding increases for basic physical sciences research that had seemed a certainty as recently as mid-December had all but disappeared.
Among the sciences, particle physics was hardest hit by the omnibus spending package that was signed into law in December, nearly three months into the 2008 fiscal year. Caught in the crossfire of a budget feud between the White House and congressional Democrats, the Department of Energy's Fermilab and SLAC were forced to announce plans to shed hundreds of jobs and terminate R&D on several accelerator projects. And the $160 million US contribution to the ITER experimental fusion facility was practically eliminated by last-minute cuts that were made to reduce overall spending to the level demanded by President Bush. NSF was wounded too, losing $500 million of the funding increases that had been included in bills already cleared by House and Senate appropriators.
At press time, some science advocates were readying a plan for congressional allies to introduce a supplemental appropriations bill that would add back $100 million of the ITER contribution and $50 million for high-energy physics. The bill would also include $150 million to permit full utilization of the x-ray and neutron user facilities at several DOE labs.
It's a long-shot strategy, since supplementals are ostensibly limited to funding for emergencies such as wars and natural disasters. Still, Michael Lubell, director of public affairs at the American Physical Society, said the cuts to high-energy physics and ITER qualify as emergencies, since the layoffs and project terminations will permanently damage US particle physics, and the loss of ITER funding will further tarnish US credibility on international scientific projects. Cutbacks at DOE user facilities will accelerate the flight of high-tech R&D to Europe and Asia, he warned.
White House science adviser John Marburger said he was surprised at the way the numbers came out, although he had expected that Congress would have trouble trying to find money for the new programs authorized in last year's America Creating Opportunities to Meaningfully Promote Excellence in Technology, Education, and Science (COMPETES) Act, which is supposed to shore up US technological leadership. Marburger hinted that the administration might take some "corrective action" to mitigate the shortfalls, particularly for ITER. But he declined to be specific. "I'm not an expert on how this all works," he said. "I'm the science guy."
Before the budget standoff with Bush, House and Senate appropriators had approved a 16% increase for DOE's Office of Science and a 9% jump for NSF. But by the time a truce was declared, the increases had shrunk to 4.5% and 2.5%, respectively. After subtracting $123 million in congressional earmarks that were placed in the science office budget, the DOE science programs rose just 2.6%. (By tradition, lawmakers do not earmark NSF's budget.)
Fermilab hit hardest
Nowhere was the impact of the cuts greater than at Fermilab, where distressed director Piermaria Oddone told the 1900 employees to brace for 200 layoffs. Those who remain on staff will be required to take two unpaid days off each month. "In my career of 35 years with the DOE, I have never been handed a problem more difficult than this one," Oddone told an all-hands meeting on 20 December.
Another casualty of the spending measure is R&D for the International Linear Collider, most of which took place at Fermilab. The cutbacks Congress ordered in the ILC program effectively terminated the effort for the remainder of the year (see related story on page 21).
In a "dear colleague" letter, Dennis Kovar, acting associate director for high-energy physics in DOE's Office of Science, said the 8% cut to his program's budget from fiscal year 2007 levels—$94 million below Bush's request for FY 2008—forced the "premature" termination of the B factory at SLAC. The PEP-II accelerator that powers the B factory had been scheduled to close at the end of 2008. Kovar said the decision was based on recent guidance from the scientific community that ranked Fermilab's Tevatron collider and its Neutrinos at the Main Injector experiment as higher priorities than the B factory.
SLAC's newly installed director Persis Drell told employees that the B factory will be shuttered in early March. The lab "will move with all deliberate speed" to lay off about 125 staff, she said at an all-hands meeting on 7 January. Combined with the 100 redundancies that were already planned to "readjust the skills mix" of the 1500-member SLAC workforce, it will be the largest number of job cuts ever for the lab. moreOpen Question: Weird sickness on airplanes?
So I'm going to be traveling next month and I have to go on two flights, one is 6 hours long then I'm staying put for 3-4 days then the next flight is 14 hours long. The problem is whenever I go on a plane I get really sick but it's kind of weird. I don't throw up on the plane but I feel really nauseous and it's one of the most painful feelings I've ever experienced. This feeling usually lasts the whole flight and its worse on the landing of the plane. and that's not all! Once I get off the plane, that's when I need to throw up and unless I just concentrate on not puking for 10-20 minutes I usually can't stop myself. If I get into a car right away I'll end up throwing up..
So I'm wondering if theres anyone who goes through the same thing that I do and if theres anyway I can prevent it? I really want to travel and I don't want this sickness to stop me. The only thing I can think of is sleeping pills because during one flight I was really tired and slept through the take off and landing and I was completely fine! I've tried things like anti-nausea pills and they didn't work.

I`m going to California next month on a plane from Toronto.
Last night this was my dream:
My dad and I were in a plane sitting together. It wasn`t until about 30 minutes into the flight that I noticed we were so low to the ground. I thought we were almost there but it was still day time (we get there at 12am EST). I couldn`t figure out what was going on. I somehow ended up at the front of the plane while my dad was in the middle still. The plane crashed into a tower and split into 3 pieces. I wasn`t hurt. I was looking for my dad and I found him. He was also OK. He said, ``Youre alright`and I said yes, because I was sitting in the front. (It looked almost as if I was pulled out of the plane before impact, because I could see the plane as it crashed in my dream).

Here's a little story I'm writing. It's not done yet obviously, but please be honest about the rating. Scale of 1-10, likes and dislikes, the whole nine yards.
It was January 22nd, 2004. The kind of chilly days where your porches are layered in ice and it's almost impossible to slip. The wind has a gentle touch but a freezing temperature, pinching your skin and chattering your teeth.
It was the day my loving, busy parents were expected to fly down halfway across the country for a week-long business trip, which immediately sent adrenaline rushes through my veins at just the thought. I tried to get my mind off of it but it was rather difficult when the day finally came.
I opened my eyes to the pink morning skies pressing against my eyelids, and I immediately felt the stinging chill and the stress my parents were putting in for their last minute efforts at not being late for their flight – like always. I groaned irritably and sat up, hopefully loud enough for them to hear.
I ruffled my hair and shuffled downstairs, fumbling around for a bowl of cereal and trying not to get sucked into the stress they were facing. Dad was quickly packing his carry on bag, sweating buckets, while Mom finished applying her makeup next to the kitchen sink.
I stared at them curiously. It must have been hard to be in so much worry some antics on a monthly basis, let alone the price from traveling all the way to Trenton to Chicago in such number-crunching hours.
My mother packed her makeup kit and spotted me eating. Her business outfit was lint-free and spotless, tied and buttoned up to perfection. “Mia! You're awake! I didn't hear you.”
I flashed a forgiving grin back at her. “It's all right, Mom. Don't strain yourself too much.”
She sighed in agreement and frustration. Mom always had a way of overdoing herself, in such a short period of time. I always encouraged her to do just the opposite, but I guess once nature picks its outcome, it's almost impossible to change.
Dad finished packing and fixed his tie with nimble fingers. “We ready, honey?” his tone sounded a little frantic.
She flattened her skirt and stood up straight, looking Dad straight in the eye. “Indeed I am!” And strolled to the table to hug me tight.
“Bye, Mom,” I said, my voice cracking. “I'll miss you a lot.”
“Aw, baby,” she cooed, hugging me warmly once more. I had a feeling that would bring tears to her eyes. “I'll miss you too. Don't worry, Dad and I will call you every night, promise! Denise is gonna watch you. She should be here soon.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the doorbell rang ironically.
Dad gave me my third hug and a kiss on the forehead while Mom answered the door. “We love you, Mimi. Be good!”
“I will!” I replied, hearing Denise's slurs in the hallway.
They brought their suitcases to the truck and piled into our Sedan while I waited on the porch in freezing bare feet. The wind made me shiver a little, but I managed a smile and waved as they drove away.
The car disappeared. The only sound was the blowing wind and my teeth chatters.
Just then, something tapped on my shoulder.

The warm summer breeze swept through my tousled dirty blonde hair as I sprinted through the Westfield Plaza parking lot to meet Cassie. Our parents were sending us on a two week cruise to the Bahamas as a High School graduation gift. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our newfound adulthood and the beginning of our last summer vacation together. This would be the first trip I would ever be taking without adult supervision and the thought of freedom had me more excited than anything else. Although I was eighteen, my parents treated me like a child and never let me go anywhere alone. Since I would be attending NYU in the fall, they must have decided it was time to loosen the reins.
With only two days left until our flight to Florida took us to our much anticipated cruise to the Bahamas, we had definitely waited until the last minute to shop for our trip. As I approached the entrance, I spotted my best friend pacing impatiently in front of the soda machines, looking down at her phone.
Probably texting me to ‘hurry up’, I silently assumed.
Cassie was always impatient; I was always late. We always came shopping together on Sunday afternoons. Other than the fact that this would be our final shopping trip together before we left for college, there was nothing out of the ordinary about the way this day was starting.

When I got out of the taxi in front of the old estate Addison sprinted out from the front door and crushed me in a deep hug. ” I missed u so much we are going to have so much fun!” she screeched
“Ummm... Addison, I can’t breathe,” I gasped. Addison lets go of me and I lean on the taxi to steady myself. “I’m sorry Ashton it’s just I’ve been waiting for weeks for you to come here” Addison said, her cheeks red. I grabbed my suitcase from the car and stepped inside the house. “Hey Ashton how was your flight?” Addison’s mother Camille said cheerfully as she took her attention off the stove and gave me a hug. Camille didn’t look much different than the last time I saw her, her face looked worn after many years of plastic surgery and her hair was still the dull blonde it was a year ago.
“Good” I lied, the flight was uneventful and endless. Camille turned her attention back to the stove and me and Addison departed to her room. I sat on her bed and stared at the ceiling. “Wanna go jogging tonight?” she asked, I laughed until I realized she was being serious. “Are you kidding me? Do you know how many creepers live here?” I replied tensely.
“Come on, Ashton where’s your sense of adventure?! Besides we will only be jogging around the school” Addison said convincingly. I finally gave in to her persuasive nature and told her when it gets dark we’ll go. “Girls, I seemed to have burned the lasagna I’m just gonna Order takeout ok?” Camille called from the kitchen. “Ok” we shouted back to her, a few minutes later Camille came back with Little Caesar’s pizza and crazy bread. We filled our plates and sat in the living room watching The Simpsons.
“You ready to go Ashton?” Addison asked putting her plate in the sink. “Sure I guess,” I said quietly. “Where are you two going this late at night?” Camille asked. “Were just going jogging, “Addison said as we headed out the door. “Ok, but I’m working the graveyard shift so I won’t be home until 9 am!” she called, but by then we were already gone.
We went outside and stretched before we left, all of a sudden Addison sped off without any warning. “Addison!” I shouted at her as I tried to keep up with her. A block later we were racing down the entrance to the school building. As we ran Addison laid on the grass and tried to catch her breath. I lay next to her and we both burst into laughter, we didn’t know why but we did.
When we heard the doors of the school open we stood up, frightened. It was just Mr. Robinson the 2nd grade teacher. It was weird seeing him during the summer, but wearing shorts?! It should be illegal. He actually looked like a person rather than a teacher. We watched silently as he strolled to his car.
The melody of a young girl startled us; Mr. Robinson looked around and locked his car. He followed the sound and walked past us. We watched as he followed the fragile voice. “What is he doing?” I thought. We watched helplessly as he disappeared into the darkness.
I stood up and started to follow him when Addison stopped me. “Are you crazy?!” she said. “Something is wrong and I want to find out what’s happening are you coming with me or not?” I asked. She took one look at where she was at and followed me. We walked over by the playground and looked around. “Where is he?” Addison whispered.
When we turned around, we got our answer. Addison and I viewed in horror as four people pinned him down on the dead grass. “Mr. Robinson!! Addison screamed. One of them took out a steak knife and held it over his chest. Finally his struggling ceased and his screams of pain silenced, it was too late.
Chapter 2
One of them turned around and glanced at us. We ducked behind the old play structure. “They saw us” I said angrily. “We have to leave!” Addison cried. “Where do you think your going? The party has just begun...” A voice said.
I stood up to run but two of them grabbed my arms. I screamed, but nobody could hear me. “Ashton!” wailed Addison from afar. “Let go of me!” I screamed. , they were too strong; they took a bandana and tied it around my eyes, blinding me.
I heard the doors of the school open, “they must have stolen the keys from Mr. Robinson” I thought. They dragged me across the hall; I could hear Addison behind me begging for mercy. Every time I tried to move their grip tightened. We entered the cafeteria, I could tell because it still smelled of gooey pizza and pickles. “Sit” one of the male voices bellowed.
I quickly obeyed; one of them took off my blindfold. I looked around, I saw Addison sitting next to me. She looked terrified; her eyes were red from sobbing. I looked at our assailan

I will arrive at frankfurt main train station at 1344. However, I just have few minutes to rush to frankfurt airport terminal 2 for luggage check in as my next flight will depart on 1525. do i have enough time for it? as what i saw from emirates website, the last check in time is 90 minutes before departure time. so, that means i just have 11 minutes to travel from main train station to terminal 2. is it possible for me to do that?
the emirates counter closes exactly 90 minutes before departure time? i thought all international flights counters close 60 minutes before departure time?

I'm normally good with dream interpretation, but this one is rather enigmatic.
I remember I was in a playground, with kids playing just normally. Then, a kid in a red shirt with black stripes (one going horizontal across his chest, the other vertical, rising from his waist up to his collar, so it looked like the christian cross). He looked aggravated to see me, and started to chase me. I was faster than him, but out of nowhere came this rather small (but still big) grizzly bear, and the boy claimed it was his pet. The boy was still chasing me, but the bear, instead of chasing with him, tried to get ahead and cut me off. I looked behind, and the boy was walking towards me when he slipped down a small hill, giving me an escape. The bear ran into a nearby forest, but used the same tactic as last time. I climbed through a jungle gym on the playground, and met a dead end. The boy was right there, still keeping that scowl at me. Without much thought, it seemed like time slowed down for a minute, and out of my hand came out a blue-ish liquid that looked like ink, and I painted it all over the boy. When time was normal, the blue ink inflicted him, and he rag-dolled down the small flight of stairs, dead. The bear was still in the forest, when I ran after him. I got close enough that it was going to tackle me, but the same thing happened. Time went slower, and I sprayed out a dark red ink. When time was restored, the bear went into flames, and was burned to dust.
Then I woke up.

Well I'm from New York. I am 16, was born and raised on Long Island (20 minutes from JFK!), and just moved away from Long Island last year. I'm incredibly homesick for New York, and I will have a 2 hour layover there. I'll be so close to my grandparents, old friends, old school, old house... My old life :( And I'm not going to get to see any of it. I just had this crazy idea, what if I purposely missed my flight out of JFK and then just called my grandma and asked her to come pick me up? Would that possibly work? I dont want to go to Ohio at all, & I dont want to see my dad. I'll post some reasons why in a minute. But do you think that crazy idea could possibly work? I would LOVE to stay in New York for 10 days instead :) My mom doesnt want me to go to Ohio if i dont want to, my dads forcing me to. So i doubt she'd be to mad

Okay, I've already reset my iTouch but this problem has been keeping me puzzled. I went to China last month and I had my iTouch placed in one of my luggage. The thing is, when I arrived at China my family and I were told that our luggage has been delayed in the next flight. The problem was that we went to stayed at another place which was 7 hours away for 4 days so I did not have access to the luggage, which has already been delivered to our house the next day. What I wanted to know was that is it possible to disable the iTouch for that long or could the security in China mess around with it?

I got sun poisoning about 5 days ago and it was pretty severe. I woke up in the middle of the night severely dizzy and nauseous so I went to the bathroom, I started sweating and shaking uncontrollably. It lasted about 20 minutes then got less severe but I didn't feel completely better for about 2 hours.
Then 2 days later I woke up early to catch a flight and started having the same symptoms, I was crying in the security line because I could barely stand and felt so sick. My chest was hurting badly and I was extremely nauseous and weak. I got into the plane and started feeling so sick I had to hold the barf bag up to my mouth for about an hour and was shaking very badly with mild dizziness. I forced myself to eat and drink slowly, I was so sick it was hard. Eventually I started to feel better and went to sleep. I felt bad the rest of the day but nowhere near as bad. I was sickish for the next 2 days.
Then I felt totally fine today, my sunburn is almost gone so I figured I was getting over the sun poisoning until I was almost done with dinner with my friends. I got super dizzy and sick to my stomach and started to chug water. The dizziness went away but I felt weak and sick still. Then my friend drove me home and I started to shake badly in her car. My dad took my blood pressure and it was normal, so was my heartbeat. I still feel weak and a bit sick but much better. I don't think I was dehydrated because I have gone to the bathroom 3 times in the last 40 minutes and it has been completely clear the last two times.
Does anyone have an idea as to what is wrong? I don't think I've ever felt so physically ill before and I'm scared there is something wrong with me, I'm only 18, should I go to the hospital?

I just found out I failed one module in my first year - (by two grades!) so I have to do a resit. My problem is I live in Northern Ireland and study in England. I emailed my first year tutor and he said I wasn't classed as an overseas student so no arrangements could be made for me to sit the exam at a uni near me. I told him I was worried about the expenses as I have no money and I can't find a job at home - I would have to pay for flights and because I wouldn't find out when I resit until quite last minute, I can't book them in advance to try and get them cheaper, plus I have to pay £45 to actually resit the exam itself.
He simply told me that I would have to find cheaper travel and get a coach or train, but as far as I was aware that wasn't possible?

After two months, we turned into a long distance relationship as he has moved away for the summer and will be returning in September. Everytime we are together it is the most amazing thing in the world, we connect so good. My husband and I are having a disagreement over where to go (and indeed whether to go) on vacation. He's currently unemployed -- out of school for a year and hasn't been able to find work in his chosen field -- but we are doing well financially and can easily take a vacation. Well, for the past year, my hours have been crazy at work -- I've been working 50-70 hours most every week, including a lot of traveling. We are short-staffed at work, so a vacation has been unthinkable, but now things are going to be slowing down very soon, which means that I'll be able to take a nice long vacation -- like 2 weeks, which is rare. Anyway, I really want us to go on a vation to Italy. I've always wanted to travel the world and am the sort of person who would go just about anywhere. My husband, on the other hand, likes to keep it simple and wants to do a simple road trip in the US, **if anything**. Well, he's told me that he'd like to go to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, so I suggested that we do a week in Wyoming and a week in Italy. No dice. He wouldn't agree to that and, in fact, he doesn't even want to go on vacation at all -- the reason? Because he doesn't have a job. He wants to stay home so that he can keep looking for work. My opinion is that 2 weeks won't make a difference, and that it's rare for me to be able to take 2 weeks off. I think that part of it may be that he's nervous about traveling to a country without knowing the language. Last summer, we went to London and France (the first trip overseas for both of us) and, after begging him to go for several weeks, I planned to go with a friend -- until he announced at the last minute that he would go (he claimed that he didn't want me to get "lost" over there, lol). I wonder if he would do the same thing this time. Unfortunately, this year, all of my good friends are pregnant or just had babies, so I wouldn't have anyone to go with. He said that I could go by myself, but I wouldn't enjoy it as much. I wonder if I should just make flight reservations for 2 people and hope that he agrees to go at the last minute like last time. So I checked on the guinea pig today. He is 6 years old. Pretty old. He spent 1 year with the breeder and 1 year with the pet store and 1 year with an abusive family. Then we got him and we have had him for 3 years. We have took good care of him. The maximum of what he needs.
My sister doesn't really have any friends, so that guinea pig was her only friend.
2 years ago, my sister transfered schools. 30 minutes away. She used to go to a school with 300 kids per grade. At her new school, she had 100 kids per grade. She used to be popular, at her old school the best of friends she could get is 3. But she treated everybody like a friend. But since she was the 'new kid' she doesn't have any friends. She is going to middle school next year. 4 schools together. Her old school is going to that middle school, so she will have her friends back and make new friends too.
In a few weeks, she is going to have a 100 kid birthday party. Some from her old school, her new school (4), extra curriculars, etc.

My parents are divorced, and for birthday presents, I told them I am getting her something big. I told them a puggle. Half pug, half beagle. She loves both breeds dearly. So I got permission from both sides. My Dad and his girlfriend gave me $150 and so did my mom and step-dad to be.
I met this breeder. She lives 40 minutes away. She breeds 10 different breeds. Popular ones. I asked her the price. She said in this economy, and her popular dogs, she will offer less to get more. She said $100 each with a crate and toy the dog has been playing with since birth and the birth video and a photo album of her.
I looked at the selection of her puggles. There is a 6 week year old one as of today. She was a fawn, female. She was so sweet. We can get her next week. I asked my sister yesterday "If you got a dog, what would you name it?" she said "If its a boy, Harper. If its a girl, Nina."
Supplies will be under $200 and I have cut out a lot of coupons, and my cousin has gave me some donations of things.
We will get her next Saturday, when we come back from the beach. It will be My Dad, his girlfriend, My sister, me, My mom and her fiance.

When we come back, we will stop at a place. We will tell her this is a birthday gift. I told her a bike. But my moms fiance will deliver that to her when she comes home with him. We will take all the dog stuff out of the van. We will put her there. And they can meet.

As I hurriedly stuffed in more articles into my handbag, I took a quick glance at the clock hung over my bed where my luggage lay, some packed, and few yet to go. It was 8pm and the flight was scheduled for 12am.If all was to go right, I had to be at the airport 3hours prior to boarding (as per international airline rules) and here I was still stuck at home with a 1001 things running at the back of my mind , my mother constantly giving me tips, guidelines , a list of what to do and what not and across the hall, stood my dad, who gave a serious look at me, screaming silently about my undisciplined character and the unnecessary delayed being caused thereby.
Fifteen minutes later, the luggage was loaded in the boot, and my family of four- my parents, and my younger brother , seated themselves in the car. It was a 45 minute drive to the airport, situated away from the main city. Initially, there was an unusual silence in the car, the English FM playing some light music and the RJ entertaining us to some jokes but soon enough it was mom, who enlightened the atmosphere back with her list of tips, guidelines etc. in midst of all the hush-a-hush dad dedicated all his concentration to driving but occasionally gave ears to mom’s lecture and passes on a smirk behind to me. We reached at the airport where I was joined by my best friend , a companion for the next few days who had arrived at the airport few minutes before us. I greeted her with a warm teddy bear hug to make up for the time I’d kept her waiting.
All of us moved inside , which never seemed calm and composed even at this time of the day on a regular weekday. Passengers busy with the airport formalities, the officials storming from one side to another in case of passenger emergencies, and not to forget the well dressed, smart cabin crew that pass by us every time a flight departure is announced. No wonder, the Dubai International Airport, situated in the United Arab Emirates is ranked as one of the busiest airports on planet Earth. Both of us cleared all the airport travel procedures, got hold of our boarding passes issued by the handsome lean official at the Airline ticket counter. Moving towards are respective families , which had now engaged in a conversation in our absence, we passed on huge hugs to them , bid them goodbyes, not to escape the hideous tears from both our mothers, that created an air of nostalgia. A final wave, and we passed through our immigration procedures, final security check and zoomed into the duty free shop. We did an hour of window shopping and finally I picked up some Swiss chocolates, that were always my favourites, while my friend picked up a novel ‘The Last Lear’ . Terminal 3 awaited our presence to clear out few last min checks, and after which we were guided into the airport bus, to take us to our plane, that stood as majestic even in the dim hours of night , all set to greet its passengers . My friend stepped in first , followed by me and sat in our respective seats, that were adjacent to each other. Although , I was a great fan of window seats in airplanes, I happily allowed my friend to take it, maybe because I had loads of beautiful things that I was already imagining and thinking, that were way above the happiness I receive sitting next to the window .
The plane was half empty imparting comfort of its own, creating a peaceful and calm ambience , which was quite an unusual scene on the contrary. We were greeted by refreshments by the air hostess and now, who was the sight of our eyes as both of us couldn’t distract ourselves off the lady’s beauty or rather make up. It still wonders me! Now Followed by the pilot’s welcome note , it now signaled us that we were to fly any moment from now. We performed a silent prayer to seek in God’s blessings and our loved one’s wishes before embarking this journey as in to remove or atleast subsidise that little fear embedded deep inside because of the recent air crashes, making one wonder about the safety about air travel.
Deep above in the head , were a lot of doubts, and questions and deep within the heart I was excited about finally living my dream as a child, waiting to smell the air , touch the indigenous soil, soothen the eyes to see exotic nature, encounter cultures and traditions and a lot unseen, untold, eagerly waiting for its two little princesses to enter its royal territory and discover. It all seemed, paying homage to the beautiful land as humble devotees.

This happened yesterday
I'm 16 and i was with my family on ten hour flight and she was about my age maybe one year older, and with her family and one row back and to the left. The first half of the flight I had a couple of glances at her and one time I went to the loo and looked back at her, and saw her look at me, then look away and then look back and the down up( she was checking me out). But in the second half f the flight I would give her a glance once every while, and quite a few times she would look back and hold the eyecontact. At one point I went To the loo again, and on the way back she was looking at me, so i smiled at her. After that every time I looked at her she would smile at me, and the more I looked the smiles would get bigger. Towards the end of the flight we were smilng at eachother every couple of minutes. And after the flight both our families were walking near eachother, and we had eye contact a few times. And in the queue I was behind her family and my mum and sis ere in front of them, so I put my hand on her shoulder and said "sorry" (you know what you di when you need someone to move) and the smile she gave me was huge. But that was the last time I saw her.
Doesn't it suck that we were with families? She was absolutely gorgeous, with dark hair, slightly freckled, beautiful eyes, and An amazing smile with dimples. And a great body.
I wish I had spoken to her, but with my family, and hers there I really couldn't.
I've had these kind of moments before, allthough much less intense, but this girl was amazing, and I can't stop thinking about her.
What do you think I should have done? And do you think she'll be thinking of me a bit aswell?

I am planning to go away for my birthday at the end of August. I'm having a hard time finding a decent price for a ticket. I purchased a flight 2 days ago for TODAY for $235, which is decent. Should I wait until last minute again to purchase a flight? Is it better to fly out on a Wednesday as opposed to a Monday or a weekend. I'm not understand why a flight to Orlando over a holiday weekend is LESS expensive then a flight to Minneapolis when its not a holiday. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Last week i had an extremely Vivid dream i was just going back to school after summer (Im only a week into summer vacation) and i was walking down the hall with my Friend when i said "that was a really quick summer huh" Suddenly he just stopped talking as if he knew he was not real and didn't want me to find out i was dreaming. Than i realized it was a dream and could do anything i wanted so i ran to the gym and made a bunch of trees grow and made all the teachers swing around on them, the weird part was that if i could do anything i wanted I would definitely do something more... Beneficial lol... i felt like i had complete control over everything but i didn't know what i wanted to control Than i heard a loud voice saying get up time for school I thought it was god or something lol But i woke up and saw my mom in the doorway of my room she was just trying to piss me off for 5 minutes or so. But i tried to go back to sleep and get back into that dream i did eventually but before i could do anything in the dream my mom woke me up again for breakfast =/ i don't usually have dreams i usually just sleep and wake up i literally have 3-5 dreams a year i have had another dream that is just as vivid but much different and i usually have that dream 2 or 3 times a year so the majority of my dreams is that one. The other Vivid dream i have had was me When i was About 5 years old (Im 14 now) like i said i have this dream about 3 times a year since i was 7 but every time i have this dream i find a secret passage type thing in my home but the passage is always in a different place (once behind my T.V. once behind my sofa , behind my washing machine under my porch etc. but all the passages lead to the same place they lead to a very tall flight of stairs (like 50 to 100 steps) There are always random items that i see on the stairs while im climbing up Things like Easter baskets, easter eggs, squirt guns, fishing poles (fishing is my favorite hobby), little 5 lb barbels, and pictures of me and my father who passed away 3 years ago strange part is that he pictures have been in my dream since i was seven. Anyways when i get to the top of the stairs there are rooms not old dusty rooms but really clean rooms there are 2 bathrooms and 1 bedroom with a king size bed no windows,televisions or computers. i sit on the floor of the bathroom for a while than lie in the bed and fall asleep i feel a strange feeling when im in the I feel extremely comfortable and safe as if i could stay there forever without food or water yea so when i do have dreams they are very strange and vivid i used to have a lot more less strange dreams than i do now and i don't know why but i just don't have them a lot any more. So do these dreams mean something or Are they just random And how can i make it easier to realize im in a dream without waking up because i could have a lot of fun with that lol.
