Please please please help, really need some advise as I am at my wits end!!!
Here goes!
There is some sort of BT plastic box right outside my front door attached to the wall of my house.
Its about 30cm x 22cm and is black plastic.
From this box numerous wires comes out of the top and run up the wall and through a hole into my house. Where these wires go to i dont know.
A large cable runs out of the bottom of the box (is protected by a white plastic cover) and runs down my wall into the ground.
telephone wires come out of my wall which run right up the side of my house vertically, then run horizonal below my windows right round to the front of the house - again right across onto my neighbours house.
Heres my complains;
The box is practically in bits and is an eyesore.
The thick cable running into the ground is slack and plastic covering is falling apart and is hideous - def a health and safety issue.
The telephone wires running across the house is awful looking.
I dont use BT services so want all of these items removed.
So...
Called BT and they said I would be contacted in the near future regarding the issue, so I called them back about two wks later and reported the naked cable and damaged box as health and safety hazzard.
So in response BT sent an engineer out to my home to evaluate the equipment and remove the box if possible.
I received a call from the engineer saying something on the lines of 'sorry love I cant touch that box as the whole street is linked up to it'. I asked if its possible to get removed and he said yes although they would have to send an evaluater to investigate what need to be done etc.
So I was advised id get a quote for the costs ???? me pay!!!?? I then rang customer services and was told by the wayleave adviser that I would not be held responsibe for costs as BT do not have authorisation to have equipment on the property, the items inc the wires will be removed and i will be contacted to provide authorisation for engineers to be on my land.
BT confirmed there was never a Wayleave agreement for any of the equipment to be on the property.
Nothing ever came of the letters I was to be sent keeping me up to date or any info at all.
I have noticed a telephone post has been erected across my street - take it this is what the wires will be conected to once they get took of my house?
Its a year later and everything is still in place.
I have never used BT to start with, so was the people who lived in the house before me that used it.
I called again around Christmas time to tell them that the delay in removing the equipment was prohibiting building work to be done to the property - the house is waiting to be painted and also a drive way is being layed and a fence at the front door. I cant put the fence up or lay the drive as they will have to dig the cable out.
Anyway, I didnt get much of a reaction and so my partner dug the white cable up for them :-)
Cable is now hanging in mid air suspended by a wooden post - its still attached to the house and the other end goes into the footpath on the street.
Been trying to contact them to tell them but cant get through?
to make matter worse, From my original complaint via email, I got an email reply from BT which provided a ref number.
When I quote this ref to BT, BT now tell me they do not recognise my ref number?.
I dont know what to do now, please advise!!

my partner and i moved into our flat nearly 3 yrs ago now and the couple who live above us took an instant disliking to us and i have no idea why
the day we moved in my mother in law introduced her self to them and introduced us to them and the lady just looked us all up and down and just walked off
we had just moved in and just been there for all of an hour when the lady came down and had a go at us because there was a matt ouside our door and it wasnt allowed to be there and it was a hazzard ?
it wasnt our matt we didnt know it wasnt supposed to be there it was obviously from who ever lived here before us i moved it any way. for the last few years they keep putting tickets on my car telling me i cant park near the flats ( i live here and have a parking space thats reserved for my flat ) i confronted them about it and she said "you cannot park here its a private road" i said to "yes its a private road in which i live in" and her response to this was quite shocking she said " you dont live here dear you just rent it " i was absolutly disgusted about that and didnt quiet know how to take it :( we constantly get letter off our landlord saying they have complained about everything and anything and most of which is lies.
i really get upset about it because they also call my health visitor on a regualr basis and tell them that my son is always upset and crying and that we are always shouting at. and i can assure you that nothing of the sort happens and my health visitor believes nothing is wrong but has to respond to the complaints as if she didnt she wouldnt be doing her job.
i just dont know what to do with these people or how to handel the situation !
my partner confronted the man on friday as he was very rude to me :( he also asked the man why they put there washing machine on at midnight knowing we are all in bed at that time and he just denied all knowlege of anything with a smug look on his face

My sister saw something yesterday, which seemed slighty surreal.
And a minute or so after it happened, she started wondering whether she had hallucinated it, or something. She then got extremely paranoid and thought she was hallucinating everyone she saw.
The thing she saw, she remembers in great detail too, which leads me to think she may have imagined it because she remembers what she imagined, rather than what she saw.
She sleeps around 9-10 hours a day. Also didn't see whether there were other walkers down there.
A van/truck (with an open back) driving extremely fast down a small dead-end lane by a field playing the Dukes of Hazzard horn tune with 3 people in - a man, and 2 teen boys who smiled as they went past, and happened to look at her again when they went the other way and smiled as they went back the other way extremely fast. There are always dog walkers going down that path, and it's only 2 metres or so wide, so it seemed wierd that a car would be going down there that fast.
My sister is 14 and doesn't take any form of drugs. She is dead set against them.
Is it possible she hallucinated this?

This was DEFINATELY reality, because she went out for a walk with her dogs after having a panic attack about her bed (possible OCD). And she told me as soon as she got back. A minute or so after it happened she started doubting whether it was real or not. My sister is 14. x

ok we bought a baby gate coz we dont want the puppy getting to the cats litter tray.
the litter tray is kept in the down stairs toilet room as the cat wont "go toilet" outside as he was brought up as an indoor cat and even tho he does have access to the garden now he wont go there, so we have to keep the door open so he can jump over the gate to get to his litter tray.
anyways my boyfriend has been saying that the puppy can open the gate.
i didnt believe him at first.
i just thought he hadnt shut it properly.
but this evening i have seen her open the gate and im a bit worried that a toddler could do the same since its a baby gate.
she stands on the inside of the gate and pushes her nose up near the handle.
i could imagine a toddler doing something similar on the top of someones stairs and im worried now...
should i report it to the company that made the gates and the supermarket i bought it from?

We live in an old terraced property with an outdoor seating area by the wall to the property next door. A few days ago half of next door's cast iron drain pipe fell off into our patio area and smashed the table and a chair. It was during the night and no one was hurt. However the remaining half of this drainpipe is still attached to the roof gutter but not to the wall and may fall off anytime. If it does and someone is sitting on our patio area then it will kill them.
This isn't a light plastic pipe it's an old heavy cast iron pipe of about 4-6 inch round and about 6ft long.
We have spoken to nextdoor about it but they don't seem that bothered and have not attempted to remove or fix the hazzard. With this being so dangerous there is no way we can use our patio to sit out but we still need to walk out there so it could still hurt someone.
What course of action are we best to take now?
What would we need to do if we were to take any legal action and is this likely to be a long process if they (next door) are awkward?
Also, if someone was hurt on our propery by thier drainpipe, would we be liable or next doors?

Highly doubt its a hernia...i can understand where you are coming from though.
Ive experienced this before and i have applied pressure and can feel nothing out of the ordinary and ive just been for a jog. My mum has had a hernia and she wouldn't of been able to do these things.
Ive always been a bit funny about lying on my front and twisting...i hate the feeling of my ribs etc....maybe its just a play on something here.

Back in September of last year, Maesteg Secondary School moved its premises to come together as one building instead of two seperate buildings.
In the plans for the school, Sixth Form were promised a safe car parking area, so students could drive to school, and be safe in the mind that their cars would be safe. But, on the first day of school on its offically opening, twenty five students cars came up the hill and there was no parking to be offered. We quickly took over a small dirt track that was half way up the hill and continued to use that for quite some time. But recently, the farmer kicked us out, and we were left with no place to park again; so, we started to park up in the "Drop Off Zone" just outside the school gates, we were quickly rushed off there and deemed a hazzard, and the head teacher threatend to call the police to the school to start booking and clamping students cars that park; on the hill, on the dirt track or in the drop off zone.
So I guess my question is, Is there any laws or Policies that schools have to follow regarding Car Parking Facilites for Sixth Form Students ?

Thanks for all your answers, but very few of these films were as widely panned as The Dukes of Hazzard. Dune? Dune was quite well-regarded, as far as I can tell! I'm talking about films that got absolutely hammered in virtually every review! Deuce Bigalow is a good example. The Hulk isn't....the critics LOVED the Hulk!

Better talent have been voted out because of bad judicial decisions of the panel based on the personality conflicts of the judges.
It makes a mockery of the show as being a talented singing contest which was getting serious when Leona Lewis won and now since with Leon Jackson and now possibly a sympathy vote winner the show is a diabolical farce.
Even Simon Cowell his mentor last Saturday suggested Alexandra or JLS to win. I think Simon has made a mistake giving him credit that didn't belong to him just because of making money on ratings and phone votes at the detriment of the the show's falling reputation.
Common sense would dictate that he is an imposter not a star.

Anyone else noticed how filthy they always are? (refering to the plastic tray where to put make up)
These baskets have been filthy in every store.I do not mean dusty I am talking about thick dirt.
The worst store I have been in regarding "dirty baskets" is the store in beckton (London).
i visited there a few weeks ago and all the baskets were disgusting ,they all had a liquid residue in them.One of the baskets even had false finger nails stuck solid in this residue .I visited the same store a week later and the baskets were in the same condition. These baskets are a health hazzard. The fact that it's every store is what bothers me,and I have been in lots of stores in the south east over many years.
Boots do not have the plastic trays in there baskets,which is what I am talking/asking about.
I sent an email to them complainig about it but they did not reply.

There used to be a number of American TV programmes which portrayed certain facets of the American Way of Life; the most representative of these was, in my opinion, "The Dukes of Hazzard". It was awful. In fact, it was so awful, we used to fall about all over the place laughing at things which, we supposed, were not actually meant to be funny. Their baseball caps, their ludicrous cars, their slutty sister, and so on. It was great fun, and made us all feel greatly superior to the Americans.
They don't seem to make such programmes any more, which is a great shame.
Or do they, and I'm just not watching the right channels?

A woman in our street is minding children. She is unregistered and not declaring her earnings. There are several issues involved that several of us on the street have a problem with.
At times she looks after 7 children
The children play in the road unsupervised, and are causing a traffic hazzard. We have all had to alter the way we drive.
The children are causing a major disturbance on what was a quite road. We know children play, but so many and when they don't live there?
The woman is not declaring her earnings, and must be at a point where she should be paying tax.
Speaking to her is out of the question, we've all tried on several occasions, so now we want to take action.
Who can we report her to?
Can we do it annoymously?
Can the complaint be traced back to us?
Any advice will be very gratefully received, we're not vindictive people, just desperate to live our lives in peace again.

You know the ones...
the ones that taxi drivers use when they pull over or stop. I think they get them from the same place as the Bus drivers do, which allows you to stop where-ever you like with out having to let other road users know.
I think in special cases they let delivery drivers use them too, although it may be an optional extra, the same as the special parking lights they have. Most of us call them hazzard lights, but for delivery drivers its a 'sorry, i'm parking here for a while, you'll have to wait or go around' indicator.
So if anyone knows where i can get some, I too would like to become an inconsiderate asswipe on the road ;)

ok, so i need HELP. i really want to see dukes of Hazzard season 7, but its not released here on DVD in UK. i've searched on net for ages and ages. So someone suggested i download Limewire - they said i would find it there. So i did. but i'm not sure how to use it. i typed in Dukes of Hazzard season 7, and loads of stuff came up. i clicked on a few, but my virus checker kept squealing at me, and i don't know how to watch them etc. can u help please? Sensible answers only please!!!

Im trying to add a hazzard light circuit to my vehicle. I have the correct rated indicator relay which i have tested and all four indicators flash perfectly.
My problem is that im trying to create a circuit to switch them on or off using a N/O push button.The button only makes contact as long as you hold the button in
I was wandering if i could use something like a 'latching' relay, Which with one press of the button it would turn the hazzrds circuit on and press again and it would turn them off?
Due to the design of where the push button is mounted i have no room to replace it with a on/off switch, nor do i have enough room to fit a second push button so i could use a simple start/stop circuit using another relay.
Any ideas?

1. an auto electrician wouldnt touch the job.
I have added the extra wiring and tested that the basic hazzard circuit works .its simply the switch side im trying to work out.
2.This is a feature im trying to add to a motorcycle. It has a spare push button switch from a 1984 z650- that only has two contacts and is not a latching- so will only make a circuit when held in.The switch body is 19 lx12 w x10 deep (mm). I probably have 5mm of spare space behind the switch as it runs close the the handle bar.There is only one other switch i can buy that will do the job simply, but will mean some filing to fit.Also it is only rated at 6amps and i can see it melt when i have 4 bulbs at 18watts, 2 at about 4watts and the relay... that wil flash them all on n off. I seems to me alot of current draw through a 6amp switch. Then there is how a switch from an electronics store would cope with the weather.

I have always been a 40dd in bra sizes but for the past 3 years have had no luck in finding a good fitting bra. Marks and spencer measured me at a 40dd and I went home with two bras neither fitted. I have a drawer full of new bras at various sizes which do not fit ( most are 40dd) I have tried going up to an F but still no luck. Various sites on the internet give me different measurments. La senza do not cater for 40+.
Someone please tell me the best place to buy quality bas in the uk. I have measured myself several times and most guides will tell me I am 40 dd, but a couple of others have put me at 40f. I am wearing a 40 f at the moment and still no joy. The quality has certainly gone down in the past few years with bras and hap hazzard sizing.
I do not have a bavissimo near me and it is not possible to get too one.
