Open Question: I have a new job, but I am miserable....what should I do?
I graduated from grad school last year and it was hard for me to find work in my field, so I just started a new job as a cashier at a retail chain store so that I could have some income going in (not going to say it on here for anonymity) and I hate this job so much. I have to work mostly nights and the people who come into the store are scary and I am afraid that I am going to get robbed or worse. I understand that it is retail and I have to work inflexible hours, but I am wondering how can I get a job in my field so that I know that I don't have to work in retail forever? Or what could I do now that would make things better for me and my job less miserable? Thank you.

Alright so I have been dating this girl for a little over 2 years now. I met her the summer after I graduated high school. I went away to college for a year and we did the long distance thing, then I transferred back to my home town for college last year and was living with my parents. I started getting depressed because my life wasn't going anywhere, and I couldn't find a job in our small town. So I made the choice to move a couple hours north to a city with a really good university where I can finish my undergrad, and find a job and be independent. Thats where I'm at now I work 2 jobs and will be going back to school in the spring.
As soon as I started talking about leaving we started having fights. I told her I wanted to go to california for a week for spring break last year and she freaked out and we ended breaking up over it. We got back together 3 weeks later. I've never cheated on her or really even thought about it. She had started seeing some guy but she broke up with him. Then that next week I moved up here. She came and visited 2 weekends and everything seemed fine.
Now I can text her and she wont say anything back, I call her and she doesn't answer, and she never calls me. She only texts me when its something bad. I called her the other night and she told me she was really hurt and that I abandoned her. I tried to explain that I had to do it because that's part of growing up but she cant see past her emotions. It seemed like I calmed her down but she hasn't called me or texted me since then. She seems like a totally different person now. I went on facebook and saw she was talking to that same guy she was with when we were broken up.
I really don't know what to do. Its putting a strain on my emotions Im always worrying somethings wrong and I get really love sick. I dont even think she likes me anymore she says she loves me though, but she doesnt even want to talk to me.
I know a relationship shouldn't be like this, its destroying my confidence. I just want to feel butterflies again, even if its with someone new.

Hi I'm a rising senior and am currently compiling a list of colleges to apply to in the fall. This is my list so far: Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkley, Georgia Tech, Emory University, Cornell University, Duke University, UPenn, and Stanford. I know my chances of getting into the last 3 are very slim to none but I'm still hopeful. My GPA is 3.972 (I received my first B this past semester). I've been enrolled in a total of 4 AP classes so far: Physics B (junior), World History (sophomore), Human Geography (freshman), US History (junior), and English I (junior). I haven't gotten my AP scores from junior year but I got a 4 on the world history and human geography exams. The rest of my classes have been gifted (not sure how many schools offer a gifted exam but basically its a step above honors in difficulty). I'm taking 4 more AP classes this coming senior year.I've also been in band since the 6th grade as a tuba player. I've been 1st chair all of high school and am the Tuba Section Leader in my school's award winning marching band. I'm also in National Honor Society (NHS), Science National Honor Society (SNHS), Beta Club, CHLT(my school's leadership team- I did some mentor work for this club), Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society). I'm going to be the treasurer of NHS and secretary of SNHS. I also attended something called the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine at Emory University. I've also received the Georgia Certificate of Merit from The State of Georgia and the University of Georgia. I've also done Science Fair at my school. I was awarded 1st place at my school fair and then 2nd place at the county fair. The next year I placed 2nd at my school fair. I also received state recognition for my SAT scores in the 7th grade which I took through a program offered by Duke University. I got a 1950 on the SAT (CR 630 M 690 W630) and a 680 on SAT Subject test for Math II and 610 for Physics. I know these scores aren't exactly impressive, but I plan on taking the SAT and subject test again. Oh and I'm ranked 21 out of the 682 in my class so I'm in the top 3% of my graduating class.
So do you think I can get into any of the schools I mentioned? Which ones?

Don't people know that Financial Aid is available that will pay for 100% of the cost of going to college?
There are Stafford Loans, the Pell Grant, and many other Federal Student Loan programs that will cover 100% of the tuition cost AND give the student money left over to live on while attending college.
Yes, the student will have to pay these loans back but NOT while attending school. You can defer the payments till after you graduate and get a job. If you don't get a job, then you can defer even longer with the Income Based Repayment program. You could conceivably NEVER pay the loans back...
There is NO NEED for parents to save and put away money for college when the government is willing to give away free money to anyone who wants to attend school.
Just fill out the FAFSA form online and you can get all kinds of FREE Government Financial Aid.

So here's my story. This guy in highschool used to call me ugly and nasty. I can relate to the bullycide story of Kristina Calco so well, except for the fact that of course I did not kill myself over it. I just graduated highschool a few days ago and am happier than ever to be out. But anyways, he would always have a hurtful remark for me EVERYDAY. What I didn't get is that he talked about so many other girls being "hot", almost all the other girls in school. Not that I cared and wanted him or anything, but that just made me feel like I really was ugly. Because of it, I struggle with severe self- esteem issues. I am obsessed with making sure my appearance is perfect before leaving the house, and that my makeup is in tact, and not a strand of hair is out of place. It takes me 2 hours to get ready, straighten hair, etc. It didn't just stop at looks, he would attack me in other ways two saying that I have no friends, and that I don't get any action. He also made fun of me for being smart and caring about school. I would put my headphones to my cell on, and listen to music and he would STILL bother me. I provided 2 links to what I look like physically. Am I really that ugly? I just don't get it.

I am moving back to India and would like to take up some IT related courses. We are relocating to Bangalore. Since my husband might get a chance to come back to US after a few years I want to do some career oriented skilled course which can get me a job both in India and US. I could not do any studies in US because of the high costs here, only did some basic computer classes at community college.
many people are saying that a 24 month course from NIIT will be beneficial for me. It costs around 1.5 lacs in India which I find reasonable if it can land me a job later.
I have some doubts though:
1. When I was in India some years back it was a much south after institute is it still so?
2. is there something like placements after doing courses from there?
3. Since many of my fellow students would be some years younger than me and perhaps fresh degree graduates will it decrease my chances of landing a job?
4. Which is the best course in NIIT?

Hello all.
In July my little sister is graduating from university (biology / medicine) and I've decided to buy her a gift for that day. It is a pen, looks fairly unique and well-made (of Japanese wood) and comes with a small hand-made case (also of Japanese wood). In addition one can choose to engrave a message upon it.
I figured to engrave her first and middle name and then underneath on the next line the day of her graduation. My only niggle is what to put before that date. I did consider simply "graduated" but the engraving only goes up to 13 characters per line.
So I'm wondering if there is a shorter term that can be used for graduated /graduation but I can't recall there being such a thing (at least I can't remember back on my graduation).
Or would the date alone be good enough?
I did at first consider engraving a personal message like "The best little sis I could ask for" (if you have one line you can engrave more characters) but quickly discarded it on the grounds of being too 'soppy'.
In addition to this the gift also comes with a takefuda (basically a charm) made of wood, it has a rather detailed and beautiful engraved pattern on the back and on the front you can engrave something of your choice. Problem here is the engraving is only up to six characters and I'm a bit stumped on what to say here. My father suggested her star sign (Pisces), which is not a bad idea especially since the charm comes with a small rope strap of your colour (and if I choose green / lime it goes with Pisces). However I'm willing to hear more suggestions first.
I would be extremely grateful for any help / ideas on this.

That's the description for the job with the title of Junior Artist. I have just finished my A Levels and I have a strong artistic ability as stated.
One of the other jobs includes "Graduate Engine Programmer". Does this mean they would say I needed to be a graduate in the job description, or is it just an assumption they make?

I just graduated from high school and my last year was my only year of playing soccer, but i really enjoyed it. I want to know if anyone knows of any clubs or something in Denver Co where i can practice or something it doesnt even need to be anything too serious. Thanks for any input :)

How competetive is it to find a residency program after completing 4 years of medical school in radiology? The reason of my concern is that I am considering radiology a career choice for myself. Hey, I just wondered how to become an instructor in MGO. I'm LvL 4 now and I'm playing on the European Server. Do I have to play in one of the games on the "Cambpell"-Lobby? Most people there just seem to play around and stuff. I think the host of those games has to graduate me, right? Most hosts seem to be afk all the time.
