Peace and Love <33 --Kassidy moreOpen Question: what is this song? i cant find it on youtube D:?
It's from a cartoon of Jack & The Beanstalk which I saw when I was a child. I have the lyrics, but I'd like to see if there's an mp3 I can download or any sheet music available. I can remember dancing in December Feeling the sunlight through the morning mist Flowers bloom tall showering in the rainfall Everything seemed right in the world Tell my why then I can’t help but cry when I think of you and how our lives have changed You’ve brought my love a once upon a time love Now hope and memories are all I have When my heart sings You’ll hear heart strings Longing you’ll come back one day In dreams I See your tears dry And you hold me close as my heart strings play would be a great help if anyone can tell me what its called or where to find it. moreOpen Question: I need a song to put on the video I'm making for a friend...?
For my friend's birthday I am putting together a video with pictures of us, and need help picking music. I have a few options... The Glory of Love from the movie Beaches. We both love this movie and it is sung by Bette Midler about her friend. Only problem it is a bit sad, as the friend has passed away. There is a more upbeat version earlier on in the movie, but I don't have a copy of it and it's really short. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2ShkYcemgU You're My Best Friend by Queen. This one's so catchy :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN_HVup9oOg I'll Be There For You, the theme from Friends. Who doesn't love this song? It's lyrics are so great and the song itself so catchy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9Nc0FAk74c Do you like any of these, or do you have your own suggestions? Thanks so much. moreOpen Question: Can you suggest some amazing songs to walk to?
Please share some songs you like that have a great beat for walking/jogging. They have to be motivating and happy, with clean lyrics. Other than that I'm really eclectic in my taste. I like pop, rock, pop-flavored country, some dance/electronica, classical, oldies, etc. Some of the songs I already use: I'm Too Sexy~ Right Said Fred Walking on Sunshine ~ Katrina and the Waves Say Hey (I Love You) ~ Michael Franti Live Like We're Dying ~ Kris Allen Technicolor Phase ~ Owl City Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) ~ Shakira Ends of the Earth~ Sun Der Kommisar ~After the Fire Don't Stop Believin' ~ Journey You Dropped a Bomb on Me ~ Gap Band Gonna Make You Sweat ~ C+C Music Factory Begin To Wonder (Dead or Alive remix) ~ Danii Minogue Thanks!!! Even a couple will help! moreOpen Question: Do you think Eminem is the greatest artist of all time?
6 fantastic albums 2 okayish albums Brilliant lyrics Brilliant rapping and flow Brilliant music The Eminem Show and the Marshall Mathers LP were amazing.. what do you think? I think hes moreOpen Question: what do I do about abusive famous rock star who did crimes to me?
A famous rock star named David Roth has literally spent years bashing me over and over again from violence, stalking, false allegations, ruining my own career in music, slandering me to famous executives so I cannot get a job or contract and making me so depressed and opressed for so many years now. I think I'm past the point on statutes legally and alot of it is gonna cost money to prove in court which I do not have. I literally spend years in financial desperation even after studying my own craft of voice, music, choreography, theatre classes in colleges, on scholarships, and on grants but just the same as soon as he has seen me raise my head to get any work or do anything for myself he finds ways to abuse me, beat me down, and terrorizes the hell out of me. To top it off he used me for famous song lyrics writing about me making himself countless millions of dollars and never gave me a dime of it. How could anyone be allowed to be so evil? He is a pathological lyer and would do perjury in court which he already has done so on various occassions. I tried 2 restraining orders but he has alot of money & bought the judges off and seems to be able to sway them towards lies and evil. I can't seem to break him free of me while he leaches off me with his songs over and over again and while people support him, almost worship him and would do anything he says cause he is famous and rich. Beyond that people have come to me telling me that he raped them and is a pedophile who rapes little girls like a 14 yr old little girl named Pearla who didn't tell anyone till she was an adult. The authorities don't care either and no one seems to care about anything when it comes to this rock star psychotic patho. The emotional and mental abuse alone has ruined many years of my life and the torment has made me cram up and not trust anyone. I'm afraid to be happy or myself, do great things and achieve cause at any moment he is right around the corner ready to attack me, get his thugs to hit me or make up lies about me, and tell people things about me that I never even dreamed about. It just hurts so and I wish I could just alleviate myself of this monster beast gorilla type human being who gets off so easy and is never held accountable. What to do? moreResolved Question: Quenn Vs. Justin bieber, somebody to love.?
So i hate the fact on youtube an amazing song around for 30 years gets more views than a 16 year old's video where he just repeats the same line over and over again but adding different mixes to it..Queen's lyrics were so powerful and true, but his are just so childish and irritating. seriously though, how can people like that music? yes i understand, he didn't do a complete cover of it, and copy word for word but still. I hate that great music is fading away, and being over shadowed artists like Justin bieber. Yes, i do like modern music, i'm in my teens, but i still enjoy the classics. Would anyone like to give insight ? moreResolved Question: The Kinks lyrics, genius or not?
This song No More Looking Back by the english rock band from the great 60's, The Kinks' song is magical, and touchy, and reminds me (lyrics wise) of The Beatles' In My Life. Anyways, what do you think? I think it's genius, music & lyrics. It's just very underrated like The Kinks themselves. The song is written by Ray Davis of The Kinks. R.I.P Pete Quaife. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koraNwOw_DQ Also Complicated Life, is a similar gem. moreResolved Question: Why is Led Zeppelin better than Pink Floyd & The Beatles (please read the details of the question)?
LZ had better individuals in their band than PF. PF may have been innovative, but innovative doesn't necessarily equate good. Both are extremely old bands, but listening to PF you hear weird cash register, animal sounds, classrooms, helicopters; with LZ, you hear influences of blues and all kinds of genres: there's a lot of "history" in their songs. LZ really knew how to rock out, PF didn't. PF's music and lyrics were depressing, LZ is great for sex. LZ could vary their styles, and they experimented with more genres than PF. They could produce acid induced psychedelic trips like PF could too (listen to Down by the Seaside, Dazed and Confused, No Quarter) The Beatles composed social-situational music that describes inter-personal relationships. It feels good, bubble-gum stuff. Safe for screaming 12-year old girls just beginning to distance themselves from mom and dad; risqué enough for vacuous society ladies to get a naughty feeling without really going out of bounds. LZ's music, like Beethoven's was geo-political; music that describes the human condition & what it means to be alive, not just in love. (Consider "Kashmir" and the 4th movement of the 9th symphony.) Their music transcends time and geography. moreResolved Question: Why does music suck now-days?
ZOMG like there is no like good music at all anymore i asked my friends if they liked The Doors & they said ''who don't you mean Fall Out Boy''?? it really like annoys me cos old music is SOOOOO much better & everybody in the entire world now only likes rap or lady gaga, every music genre has imploded & is totally static except rap & lady gaga.....nothing but that has survived, so i'm going to have a big whinge & write a wall of text ranting about how music sucks. I feel so isolated because of my great music taste the only good music ever created is music before i was born which no other teenager can even begin to comprehend & i really wish Cobain was still alive (even though he was suicidal) so he could revive the music scene again despite the fact that grunge was moving out of popularity before he shot himself.... I also think he was murdered cos i'm such a big fan of the band & can't see why he would kill himself. Does anybody else wish they were born to another decade when music was aCtuAllY good & had deep lyrics that meant stuff to me rather than talking about bros & hoes? To quote Don Mclean to sound cool & show my knowledge of good music even though i'm just a teenager ''the day the music died'', i agree with that statement music has died ******** To anybody that read this far anything to add to the ridiculous claims the young make of music? BQ: me wonders if our children will think the same & wish they grew up in our decade (90s/00s)? EDIT** wow reading the first two answers made me just go ''oh my god'' & facepalm myself (thats the word when ye slap yer forehead init?) HAHA Do people honestly think i'm being serious with that article i wrote? god i tried to make it as pathetic & cringe-worthy as i can without going completely OTT. Definite proof that sarcasm can't translate over text moreVoting Question: Do you know of any good spanish christian music?
Hi. I was hoping some of you may be able to help me find really good Christian music or worship music just in spanish. I listen to english as well and i love praising God but my mom wants in too lol Praise God right! but she doesn't understand the lyrics and wants some great uplifting christian music as well that she could sing along to.. Any artists come to mind? thanks & GOD BLESS moreResolved Question: How do I start my own metal band?
I don't have anybody else to join, but I hope to start one. I live in a small town. I am a great lyric maker, I hear the songs I made up in my head and wish they were real. Sometimes I sing them on my tape recorder and then I listen to them. I want to make them into music. What should I do? I'm planning on naming the band Solid Blood... Just like the name... But I am pretty good at making rap lyrics. Both are easy, but I like metal better. Just a little better. moreResolved Question: Do you think that Q-Tip is one of the most underrated MCs of all time?
He is better and his music is more hard than the rappers that these children are listening to these days. This guy puts out real rap music and his lyrics actually have some meaning to it and he is using 90s rap which is great. I loved listening to his music and cats like Common, J-Dilla, A Tribe called Quest and many more people who actually put out some real rap during the mid 90s. This guy is under appreciated because of the garbage that these rappers in this day put out rapping about stuff of no meaning other than bragging about cars and whatnot. Bill Water- You obviously just proved that you dont know crap about rap by making that moronic statement. moreResolved Question: What makes people write satanic lyrics in deathmetal/ deathcore, black metal and other types of music?
I absolutely love all types of rock and metal no matter what the lyrics say but I always wondered what makes people want to sing ( scream, grow) about Satan and other topics that have to do with that. The music is great and I love it but the lyrics sometimes give me an unsettling feeling. But the music is just so brutal and aggressive that I listen to it anyways. I am mainly wondering about bands like Whitechapel and Winds of Plague. Is it just because it sounds cool or do bands like that really believe in everything they say? I'm not trying to start any type off religious arguments. I myself believe in god, but I wouldn't say I'm Christian because I know some of the things I do are wrong so I question everything that people do, including Christians. I don't know how people can be so sure in Things like this. That's why I'm so iffy with the lyrics of this type of music. moreResolved Question: Do you feel The Rolling Stones has very 'dark' music?
Whether it is Mick Jagger singing, or the lyrics of the songs "Brown Sugar", "Paint it Black", "Dead Flowers", "Sympathy with the devil". Their music is just very dark, badass & cool, especially with Mick Jagger's performance; listening to their music is like taking a shot of heroin. It's definitely "the devil's music". I wish we had more bands like them today. Similarly, listening to most Beatles songs is almost like taking an acid or pot trip, which is great in it's own way. I know a lot of dark music, but they don't rock like Rolling Stones. That's why I love Rolling Stones, because they rock a lot harder than everyone else. moreResolved Question: A poem... please tell me what you think?
Confessions of a blood studded kiss From the deepest of a crying heart Seas most rough and lands so cold Hope I shall seek, near or far Prayers enlightened, blessings unfold Saddened truth yet do I know A song that lies deep within Voices I feel, those I may follow Endless moments my hands begin Darkened regret, covered in past Vanished tears have followed my pace Dream and wish, my mind contrasts As piece by piece fall out of place Seeking love, and passion thereafter Obscurity gains his fearless grounds A soulless side, no pain no laughter An unknown artist of great renown Affection revealed, letters I wrote Eyes and desire, may shadows exist Music composed, my lyric your note Uncovered confessions of a blood studded kiss moreResolved Question: WHY DOES EVERYBODY HATE JUSTIN BIEBER?
I'll admit that he isn't a great singer because his voice is way too high, and the music isn't that great, but still. It seems that he is not a bad person. About 9 out of 10 comments I see on him are very negative like "Justin hasn't hit puberty", "He's a girl", or "I hate him". The comments on hating him seem to get high approval, while everyone seems to hate people for liking him. So what is it? Michael Jackson had a really high voice. Most people on the radio today have crappy lyrics. Though I don't think his music is good, I have to say people are taking this too far. But a lot of artists suck. Now if you were completely talentless or even less talented than average at something, but you were offered a lot of money, fame, and popularity for using your "talent" wouldn't you anyway. Apparently Justin only has the money and fame now. It must suck to be a 15 year old who just hates crappy songs, and is instantly hated by the whole world. 15 is so young to be universally hated. On that last edit I meant sings crappy songs not hates crappy songs. moreResolved Question: im trying to locate an R&B song?
I need help trying to figure out the name of this song. I think its from lie 2002 to 2004? idk but its this great r&b singer; and in the video, it shows him lying in the bathtub with his clothes on. and holding, looking at his pictures with his ex maybe? The whole music video is in black and white. I think his lyrics mention something about his girl kissing him but wasn't actually him? I really cant remeber this song... its getting frustrating (^L^;) so please if yu think you know the title or know the song tell me .. thnx appreciate it moreVoting Question: NeverShoutNever,Stephan Jerzak, All Time Low...?
Hello! I need some new music, i'll list the music I already listen to, 'cos last time I did this people told me a load of bands I already knew (: So music similar to this, please? : NeverShoutNever Stephan Jerzak All Time Low Panic! At The Disco Youmeatsix Paramore A Rocket To The Moon Chase Coy Owl City Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Eatmewhileimhot I like songs with meaningful lyrics or simply great lyrics, sad, happy, anything tbh. I do screamo, but only a little... So yeah, (: Help appreciated! moreVoting Question: Is there anyone out there old enough to remember this song or, have I actually out lived all of you?
I absolutely loved this song when I just a little boy and I searched for it for years and had no idea what the name of the song was or who sang it. http://www.rhapsody.com/tony-martin-2/greatest-hits/i-said-my-pajamas-and-put-on-my-prayers Anyway, I'm not even sure how but, suddenly tonight, I found it and it's the original recording that I heard as small boy. Very cute lyrics. The song actually made it #3 on the charts back then. Music has really changed a lot since then ... So, if you do by any chance remember hearing this song on the radio when you were little, let me know with a resounding YES and where you were and what you were doing when you first heard it. moreResolved Question: I'll give you some bands/artists I like, suggest some music I may like?
These aren't all in the same genre, so really any relevant suggestions are helpful. I like music old or new. -Aerosmith -Sex Pistols -AC/DC -Beatles -The Scorpions -Great White -The Kinks -Blaqk Audio -She Wants Revenge -Bring Me The Horizon -From First To Last -The Rolling Stones -The Dropkick Murphys -Black Sabbath -Tone-Loc -Eminem -Rick Springfield -Elvis -Eagles of Death Metal -Dead By April -Metric -Weezer -The XX's -The Yeah, Yeah Yeah's -The Violent Soho's -Green Day -Dragonette -Shiny Toy Guns -James [http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/James-lyrics/BDDCF61EFD0401D648256A8C0035049E] -The Arctic Monkeys -Babylon Zoo -Madonna -Placebo -Nirvana -Pearl Jam -Alice In Chains -Yonderboi -and any good acid jazz suggestions! Thanks for any/all help. By James, I mean the artist with songs like "Laid", "All Good Boys", "Alaskan Pipeline", "Walking The Ghost" etc. It wouldn't let me post a good link to his bio. moreVoting Question: Why are crap artists like Lady gaga and Miley cyrus marketed as family friendly Artists?
Have you seen both of there latest music videos. That's not for kids and parents let them watch Lady gaga and Miley Cyrus and all that. The real question is why are there so many shit artists like Justin Bieber and Lil wayne and Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers and all this new shit that's coming out that has the same lyrics which is about love and partying and relationships and all that same shit when you got real artists out there who lyrics are not about love but about the world problems, and lots of people say that kids don't want to hear that but why is some of the greatest songs ever in the history of music not about love. John Lennon - Imagine, Bob Dylan - Blowin in the wind, Led zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, and so on are classed as some of the greatest songs ever and they are not love songs. Real artists need to be put on the radio like 2pac, system of a down, metallica, johnny cash and okay than some of those artists aren't releasing new music anymore so what about Megedeth who brought out a new album, where there songs on the radio. Oh yeah, parents don't approve of that because they don't think its family friendly so they want artists like Lady gaga who promote sex! moreResolved Question: what catches your eye to a great rap song?
what i mean is.what do you mostly favor about a song.do you really like the beat and how it sounds,or do you like the rapper and wait to see what he will say.what are the qualities of making a hit song that people would love.also does the voice for hip hop figure matter.i mean if you have a weird voice but extremely good lyrics, will that still draw you to his/her music?? also how can you tell if a freestyles bad or good?? moreResolved Question: How can I improve my singing at home?
I'm a fourteen year old male, and I can't really tell my parents about how I wanna start a music career, therefore, I can't really go to any singing classes. How can I practice singing at home? I sing in the shower sometimes :P and I usually sing the lyrics to my favorite songs, or rap to them (if its hip hop) I have the potential as a lyricist but my voice isn't so great, and when I buy my mic, I don't want to use autotune or edit my voice. I'm pretty determined about becoming an musician. I'm producing my own beats as well. moreResolved Question: What rap song has the lyrics "i dont know about yall, ball till i fall, money so tall"..no one knows?
Listen, this is a new rap song and it has a great beat. This question has been asked on here before, but all the answers are always sarcastic. I really need someone familiar with new Rap music to answer this. It has a good club beat!!!! Please any help is appreciated. moreResolved Question: Would you consider Kanye West a sampler or a producer?
I would call him a sampler because most of his songs contain samples of other artist and as I studied he will take the lyrics and melody and either slows them up or slows them down he really doesn't change the beat at all. (except maybe adding a couple of drum beats.) I think he's good at doing that but at the same time I wouldn't call you a producer if 95% of the time you're samplering and your not creating your own beats. Now I know that hip hop was based on sampling other peoples music but like hip hop the music tends to change and I think that today with the technolody and people saying that their creative create your own beat and if you are really concerned about getting that paper then you create your own sound. Now I'm not saying sampling is wrong hey you should give props to people who inspired you. But don't go around saying your the greatest producer when you sample 95% percent of the time. To me Dr Dre sample a lot of funk from the 70's but he still make a lot of beats from scratch that have become classics. On college drop out Kanye had a sample on every song except for two one was workout plan and the other I can't remember. Same with 808 and Heartbreak. Too me kanye is the modernize more creative diddy plain and simple moreVoting Question: What band (NOT Great White) sang the song "Once Bitten Twice Shy" or similar?
It's not the same song, but it has lyrics like "I said a once (clap clap clap clap) bitten, twice shy" It was a rock song and I keep thinking the Plasmatics, but can't find any song like that. So it was probably a punk rock song or kind of hard rock and it was definitely from the 80's because I remember it was when MTV didn't suck like they do now with all the non-music garbage. moreResolved Question: Do you think that this is disrespect to the artists? Please answer I want your opinion!?
I am 14 but I like to listen to music from around the 70s. Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, CCR, and The Rolling Stones are some of my favorite bands. When I listen to these songs I pay great attention to the lyrics and think hard about them. I then decide on what the song means to me and I think of that all the other times I listen to the song. Sometimes what the song means to me is not what the artist meant when they wrote the song. When people tell me this I think that it is interesting but I try not to really let it affect the way I hear the song. Does this make me ignorant? Do you think I am disrespecting the artists? These people are who I respect most in life so I would hate to disrespect their music. What is your opinion? Thank you so much(: I wish you all the best and hope you find what you are looking for in our world. Keep it honest; See it sure. moreVoting Question: So... What happened to music? Anyone still good out there?
Honestly, its all gone down hill, we've had no memorable musicians in my generation, and if we do, its for the wrong reasons. Seriously come on... Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift. Yeah Taylor Swift. Don't freak out little children, Taylor Swift has no longevity. "Cause when you're 15 and somebody tells you they love you you're gonna believe them." No shit thanks for clearing that up Taylor. Her lyrics are simple as day and sure she has a nice voice, but thousands of people do, doesn't mean they have good music. How can you even compare her music to Helter Skelter, Blackbird, Stairway to Heave, Bohemian Rhapsody. Honestly what is going on? Anyway I'm done with my rant, here's my question.. What musician recently is actually great... wonderful lyrics, nice song, anyone? I think Regina Spektor is quite good, and Lily Allen. I also like Adele, Then again I've only heard some of their stuff... What do you guys think? moreResolved Question: I Think This Song Rocks But People Seem Shocked I Like It?

I know some people really dig metal and I do to a degree but I really enjoy not only being able to hear the lyrics but I also enjoy the spiritual experience I feel when I ponder the words of those who really feel drawn to Satan(which is for me symbollic if you're unfamiliar with LaVey's Atheisitc/Humanistic use of Satan to promote a person's sense of indivuality and self-reliance). Some of my favorite music is sort of industrial-elctronica fusion including: The Electric Hellfire Club My Life with the Thrill Me Kill Me Cult which are both headed up the Rev. Thomas Thorn(of LaVey's Church of Satan) Not that I don't love the classics such "Number of the Beast" and all that good stuff... Thanks guys, Alice moreResolved Question: do you agree with this statement as to why some whites Behave Ghetto?
ghetto is not limited to 1 race but increasingly in the U.S. whites and all races across the earth or organisims across the universe tend to get a long with their kind 99% of the time..this Explains in great detail why blacks men and black women and white men and white women and asian women and asian men 98% of the time date and marry in their race..of course in some countrys like South Africa, The United Kingdom, and The United States and even Canada, interracial relationships are more common but still only perhaps 2% of the population or 3% at most participate in such actions however a great deal or Rich and Suburban whites tend to flock towards hip hop culture not necessarily rich whites as trends say they tend to prefer rock and older whites prefer anything but current rap music but i am talking about kids who are teenagers say after the 2000's do you agree with this Statement Below The motivations and views of participants may vary, but these parties have two consistent features: (1) white people mock African American and Latino people through stereotypes of the residents of low-income urban areas, while at the same time enjoying the feeling of temporarily adopting these looks and poses; and (2) the white folks typically do it without pausing to ponder what right they have as members of a dominant racial class to poach in this fashion on the lives of people of a subordinated racial class. In other words, white people find pleasure in insulting non-white people while at the same time safely “slumming’ for cheap thrills in that non-white world, all the time oblivious to the moral and political implications. Hip-hop is not black or white — it’s green,” he said. “If a certain genre is selling, those record executives don’t care one way or another. They don’t care if it’s destructive or it’s positive as long as it’s making money. I think there’s ways in which you can use it against itself.” Still, fans like Farrell believe music’s first function is entertainment, and the mixing of a popular aesthetic with honest, insightful lyrics are the best way to infuse music with political undertones. its not that some whites are racist at all infact they take pleasure in controlling 99% of things but also at the same time like the feel as with younger generations that a ghetto hip hop class that is prefebly say black americans dominate in the sense that Most Rappers are black they like the feel but do not live the life so while they can mock it without hate in their minds they are not racist rather would you say confused or just goofy in that sense? moreVoting Question: What are your thoughts on Gary Lightbody?
To me he is my Idol. Made me want to write lyrics and got me into Rock music. I think he's a great, down to earth guy who should be a lot more famous than he is. Your thoughts on him? moreResolved Question: I need help, it's a long-shot but I'm that desperate?
I heard this song a few years back but I can't seem to remember the name of it or who the band was. I can't know the lyric because i believe the language it was in was Catalan (I could be wrong but I know it was something similar to that). However I remember the music video a bit, so if you can manage to pinpoint the song with the description I'm about to make (which I highly doubt you can), you will be a GOD. In the video it showed the lead singer (which is a girl) with short hair playing the accordion -- she was dressed in white. It also showed one of the other band members (in white as well if i recall correctly) wearing a fedora type hat. The scene was either by a beach or on a rocky/sandy area. Another scene I do know was near a broken down, dirty, white house type thing (though it was extremely broken down so I don't know if it should be called a house). I recall drums and a guitar later on in the video as well. The lighting was semi-dim. They were smiling a lot in the video as well. The song was catchy, also, I remember that (hence why i want to find it so badly) and it also had a great beat. Anywho, I suppose that's as much as I can remember. So if anyone knows what I'm talking about, PLEEEAAAASE help. Thank you in advance. ahh, that's not even close. it's not even in the catalan language. but thank you for trying anyway, i really do appreciate any form of effort. Yeah, that's not it either but I do dig the song. Reminds me a bit of Niagara. Thanks for the song :D, but aye, as said, not what I'm looking for v.v moreResolved Question: Best songs ever, 20th and 21st century.?
Songs with Harmonies, rock songs, anthems, rock opera's, songs that saved lives, songs that changed the outcome of our society, songs that inspired artists to sing and go that one extra step. First of all, I'd definitely have to go with Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. one of the newer anthem's I have discovered recently, Wavin' Flag - K'naan. lyrics are very inspiring. Another major one, Three Little Birds - Bob Marley, also Buffalo Soldier. Everyone Else's opinions? What has inspired you to feel to music emotionally and how has it effected your life? Would be great to hear some stories :). moreVoting Question: How do I add lyrics to Youtube videos?
Or any other videos? Cause I'm having a karaoke party and I want to add lyrics to music videos for people to sing along to. Any free programs or techniques would be great! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Did Snoop actually write his verse in "California Gurlz"?
I'll be quite honest, just like Tik Tok (which sounds exactly like it) the lyrics in this song are REtarded. When you're listening to it you don't really care, but when you look at the words, it's just dumb. Same with Tik Tok, check out the lyrics for that, they make no sense and have no relevance to anything. But anyways just wondering if anyone knows if Snoop wrote this verse? Because I highly doubt that he did, I know he wouldn't write garbage like that unless the producers told him to which I'm betting they did. After all the song was produced by the same guy who does Kesha's songs. They all sound the same and are just really getting annoying. To say the least all of the mainstream music sounds the same now a days, am I wrong? It's all just dancing techno crap. But it's what the people want so that's what they get; base, clap and synth. Great.. But anyways does anyone know if Snoop ACTUALLY wrote his verse??? Thanks guys moreResolved Question: Pop indie style female singer.the chorus sounded something like "Hell I've got to let you...?
...go" great music video too I heard and saw it on Tv tonight. Its a female singer with brunette hair...the song was indie, upbeat, and instantly likeable. the chorus was a bit repitiive...something like "Hell I've got to let it go/ Well I need to let it go/ one of those combinations)...and I distinctly remember a small take from the video of a car window being smashed, and maybe a wedding scene? fast moving though. Also lyrics "I won't ever stop loving you" or something along those lines. Any help would be greatly apprieciated..:) moreResolved Question: I was thinkin about becoming an actor or musician?
First off I just want to start out saying that I realize that this is no easy goal or task to complete. I know it can be quite a long journey, but I'm 16, I think that journey will be enough time. And I know what you're thinking, "well he's foolish and young, he'll change his mind and pick another career." You're probably right, but for the time being, this is what I want to do. So what got me motivated was the fact of being able to work with some of my idles whether being in the fields of music or in the fields of theater. I haven't had a lot of practice with either one, besides auditioning to myself in the mirror and writing lyrics on my computer (I know, really cheezy lol). But I live in columbia, south carolina. I did research and I'm just now finding out that The Notebook and a lot of other good movies were filmed here and I was doing research on what it took to make it as an actor or musician in SC. I found out that I had to have a passion for one and/or the other. I have an extreme passion for music, and I can play the piano, by ear, my voice is okay and I would LIKE to play the guitar. As for acting, I think it would be interesting to me. The most practice I've had with acting is infront of my bathroom mirror. So like I said, I've done some research and I've figured out quite a number of things: Acting 1. Passion- This is easy to me, I Can make myself become physically and emotionally thaylt character, I know that I MUST become the character. 2. Experience- Like I already said, The most experience comes fro the bathroom mirror 3. Charisma- it's very easy for me to get along with someone. 4. Manager- this is somebody who has connections with agencies that could get me known and possibly promote me to bigger and better roles. I've seen a couple of websites that could assign me a manager, that is, if the manager sees something in me 5. Commitment- 9 times out of ten I will never walk out or give up on an opporitunity 6. Confidence- probably my weekest point. I'm probably the most insecure person ANY of you would ever meet in your life. 7. Willingness- well I get freightened when I get in front of an audience or people who I can tell don't see a lot in me, which i figure I'll grow out of. 8. Creativity- If I sit and think hard, I'm extremely creative and a hard thinker. I'm thinkin about saving up and getting a MacBook since they have great reviews and software for photo and video editing. Maybe I can try my hand at YouTube. Location- My teacher told me that Columbia, SC is an excellent place to get discovered because of the simple reason that there isn't a lot of competition, as opposite for places like Cali or York Music Passion- I have about 20 lyrics I've created saved on my computer and I cannot love without my iPod. I think I have an alright voice and with lessons, I would be a great pianist. What music means to me- There is no answer because different music strikes different cords. Experience- I practice singing everyday and try to record it onto my iPod and play it back often. I play the piano keyboard by ear very well by ear but would like to learn how to read it as well. Guitars interest me too; I love the sound. Manager- same as acting Commitment- Im not very confident about my voice or my piano skills, I get very scared in front of crowds. When I get the age, i could start performing at bars and night clubs to help put myself out there Willingness- I'm NOT willing to stand in front of an audience and sit there and sing and play an instrument, at least not until I get more practice on both Creativity- I'm creative whe it comes to music as well, when I get the MacBook, I could use garage band to actually start making music and demos and putting songs on YouTube to let people hear. I think I'll start out woth YouTube first though and let the Internet crowds judge my music first Location- Sam as acting My questions are Do you think I have a shot at at either? Which one do you think I'd be better at? Do you have anymore tips? Should I go for these kinds of things? Tell me more please!!!! Thank you all moreResolved Question: Really Popular Techno Song?
i went to the great escape yesterday with my school and when we were there by the gift shop there was music playing and i loved the song but i cant tell what it was and i don't remember any of the lyrics. i do know that it was really fast in the chorus and i think that it was a boy and a girl singing moreVoting Question: music nowadays sucks, because MANY young people music taste nowadays sucks?
and before I go any further, I just want to clarify that I'm born in 1982 (which makes me still of today's young/Gen Y generation,...not some typical 'old-gen-hates-new-gen' cliched story). I know that this has been said over & over again that it's almost a cliche, but seriously, as a big music lover and a musician myself, I feel really really sad & angry for the current state of *MAINSTREAM* music nowadays (note: i am not saying ALL, just those big MAJOR hits that's played in radio & MTV nowadays), that everytime I turn on the radio or MTV or V channel nowadays, it's like I just want to destroy my radio & TV forever, because I can't stand how music nowadays just basically feels very 'dry', lack emotions, very shallow lyrics and theme, and the same boring **** repeated from artist to artist. this alone is already sad. but what makes me even sadder, is of how there are still MANY many people (particularly teens, I notice) that said of how this & this major artist have a TALENT, and a HUGE one!......uhh, no it's not. it's sadly just a "clever marketing & advertising strategy" coupled with being "commercial" & having all about pretty looks & body (and showing cleavage & boobs for female). what happened to the great, very emotional, and actually INNOVATIVE music, and I'm talking about MAINSTREAM music, such as: - Beatles : Eleanor Rigby (still damn genius song, IMO) - Carpenters' heartfelt emotional songs & *meaningful* lyrics that you CAN actually relate, such as Yesterday Once More, Rainbow Connection, Leave Yesterday Behind - Queen : Show Must Go On (I literally shiver everytime I hear this, even still now!) and many many other good *MAINSTREAM* music?? - and in the rock realm itself, all those REAL-innovative (not the misinterpred "fake innovative") rock music such as Led Zeppelin's Kashmir, Guns N Roses' kick-ass ending in song November Rain, Deep Purple's Sweet Child in Time, Burn, etc - even funky, soul music such as in the movie Sister Act (just watched it yesterday) were still DAMN GOOD compared to the crappy repetitive r&b and sh*tty blink-blink shallow hip-hop music nowadays! (that again, misplacedly labeled as "talented"! uggghh!) instead, nowadays for the *MAINSTREAM* music played in radio and TV, and labeled as "talented, gorgeous" by these young teens, we got Lady Gaga feat Beyonce with mediocre, 'dry' music, then showing all their body and by repeating meaningless "e e e e e e e" phrases and lack heartfelt LYRICS! .....and don't even get me started on talking about Ke$$$$hhhhaa & Bieberrr! I mean seriously,..as cliche & overly-repeated question this certainly is, but I'm there's a REAL POINT in people asking this question: what the hell is wrong with music nowadays? and where is it heading? and thus my main question: is it *only* music nowadays that sucks,..or is it because today's MAINSTREAM young teens & people are part to blame, because there're still a LOT lot of them, fact of the matter, still like it, even label them as "talented" ??? and a BIG kudos will be added, if you can actually tell me, how to change this hopeless situation we're in? thanks, and please forgive my frustration! PS: again I'm not saying ALL music today sucks. it's the major, MAINSTREAM music that's currently "popular" and played over & over again in music & radio, that so many people nowadays sadly still think they're "talented", and that's WHY they're POPULAR/famous! ouch, big one! moreResolved Question: R&P and Metalheads: What's a band that you love lyrically? and Cormorant?
Hey guys, I haven't asked a question here in FOREVER! I've been around here..I just wander around quietly, never asking or answering questions..but I figured, I gotta contribute and what better time than this? So here it is: Yesterday, someone showed me the band Cormorant. Some o' you metalheads might already know 'em, but if not, here's their Myspace link http://www.myspace.com/cormorantmusic I was listening, and I thought pretty good, I like them. And I always appreciate when bands post their lyrics because alot of times I really want to know but can't. So, I decided to skim their lyrics...I wasn't even listening to the song and I realized, in my opinion, their lyrics are awesome!! It was like watching a movie in my head when I read them. I could picture everything.. the figurative language is great. And I could see why, on their website it says the singer originally wrote them as poems...and they are "influenced by French Romantic and Symbolist literature" I just think they're really good. It's rare when I find a band whose lyrics I enjoy as much as I did when I read theirs... So my question is, you like that band? What metal bands do you think have vivid, well-written lyrics almost as if they could stand alone without the music (because you know, to us some lyrics may be amazing but alot honestly could not stand alone)? And if you're not a fan of metal, who else...BESIDES BOB DYLAN.. :P Danke :) moreResolved Question: 90's song help? This is all I remember..?
all I remember is that it goes dodo dododododo then like a explosion of sounds like a flute and drums, then it does the do's again then you kind of hear a techno sound that starts to play with the beat of the do's... the doo's are sort of slow. then in the middle the lyrics are like "she's a something yeah.. confrontation.." i've searched every itunes essential music of the 90's thing.. and it's driving me crazy! hahaha I don't know if you can help me or make much sense out of this and if you can't thats ok but if you can that would be great! :) and its a guy thats singing it, kind of grunge sounding moreVoting Question: Help! I need a good first dance wedding song!?
I like country music, my fiance likes classic rock. Neither of us have great rhythm, so I would prefer a slower song. I want it's lyrics to have meaning relevant to getting married. We are in our late 20's. Any suggestions?? moreResolved Question: Regina Spektor fans: Why doesn't this woman have a Grammy yet?!?
I just recently got into her music, and it is brilliant. She is really talented, has a great voice, makes good music, and writes terrific lyrics. I recall the Grammys recognize the best in the music industry, well, I think I found what you're looking for, it's just that they are too busy honoring the popular artists instead of the good ones. For example, not saying that Taylor Swift is untalented, it is just that there are people who are better. She is getting all this recognition for writing mopey lyrics about boys, when Regina Spektor or Death Cab for Cutie or other artists who write lyrics that are so meaningful. Instead, they recognize the slutty dancers who write music about hooking up with boys and having threesomes. Need I remind you that most of them don't even write their own music. I just don't understand. Is there anyone here who agrees with me? Also, People say that Taylor Swift is popular because girls can "relate" to her. Well, I guess I'm different because I don't go an write songs about guys who dump. I simply get over it. moreResolved Question: Rap/Hip Hop: Do you agree with my review for Eminem's new album 'Recovery'?
READ: Ok, before you read the review, note that most people compare Em's new music to his old, therefore bringing down the new stuff he puts out. I'm not going to do that. For this review, I'm going to look at this as Eminem's only album, let's forget the MMLP,SSLP,TES, and Infinite for a moment. Ok, let's begin. 1. "Cold Wind Blows" -The album opens up with Eminem SINGING. At first you think "WTF?', until the beat drops. Great beat, and the VERY first line, Em opens up with a funny punchline. "Call me the ball sack, I'm nuts." Haha. "You try to diss me I'll slaughter you/I put that on everything, like everyone does with autotune." This album btw has more punchlines from Em than I've ever heard. 3/5 2. "Talkin' 2 Myself" (featuring Kobe) -Chorus is good. Kobe did his thing. But what I have a problem with is Em's new flow. Sounds too fast, scattered,no pauses. Don't like that. but I enjoyed the lyrics. 4/5 3. "On Fire" -One of my favorite songs on the album. His rhymes in the first verse are amazing. I mean who else can rhyme "lizard in gauze","scissors and saws","Wizard of Oz" and 'Blizzard with Jaws" together? 4/5 4. "Won't Back Down" (featuring Pink) -Beat disgusts me. It sounds like you didn't plug in a damn wire correctly on your radio. but again, Em goes off. Pink is barely noticeable. Em has some sick punchlines, once again. "I gave Bruce Wayne a Valium and said settle your a$$ down, I'm ready for combat man! Get it Calm Batman?" 3/5 5. "W.T.P."- I like the beat. Em could've done WAY better. 2/5 6. "Going Through Changes" -Overall great song, very emotional. Ozzy fits great in the chorus. "Lock myself in the bedroom, bathroom, nappin’ at noon, Yeah dad’s in a bad mood, he’s always snappin’ at you. Marshall what happened that you, can’t stop with these pills, And you’ve fallen off with your skills, and your own fans are laughin’ at you" 5/5 7. "Not Afraid"-I love this song, mainly for all the punchlines. 'All those who look down on me, I'm tearing down your balcony." Has to be one of the most creative lines I've EVER heard. 4/5 8. "Seduction"- Favorite song on the album. A chill, laid back song about how he seduces and steals your girl because he is a better rapper than you. I like the flow, an the lyrics. "There's a 7 disk cd changer in her car, and I'm in every single slot and you're not, Aww!" 4/5 9. "No Love" (featuring Lil Wayne) - I seriously don't get why everyone is so amazed at Em's verse. He didn't do anything special. I believe Wayne (as much as I HATE him) was right up with Em on this one. Wayne had the highlight here. "My d1ck in they mouth so I guess it's F*** what they say/I'm high as a b1tch up up and away/Man I come down in a couple of days" 3/5 10. "Space Bound"-I love how he begins, great lyrics, great feel. But again with the scattered flow that sounds like he's not saying each line within it's given time for the bar. 4/5 11. "Cinderella Man"- A poor man's 'Till I Collapse". He says "My filet is smokin w33d, get back if the stakes are high." Haha. 3/5 12. "25 to Life"- Although the concept has been used over and over again, Em still has the skill to make us want to hear it again. It's seems like he is talking to a girl the whole song how she wants to leave him, disrespected him, etc. But in the end, he says 'So f*** you Hip Hop I'm leavin" you!" 4/5 13. "So Bad"-GREAT Dre beat. Em let it go to waste, could've been better. 3/5 14. "Almost Famous"-Another one of my favs song on the album. Em takes you back to before he was signed, stating he has "Metaphors wrote on my hand, some are distorting my mem-ory Some are wrote on a napkin, do what I have to to win". He delivers one of the best punchlines on the album, saying "Get your brains blown out That’s what I call blowing your mind, when I come back like nut on your spine I’m a thumbtac that you slept on son Now here I come screaming “attack” like I stepped on one!". Beat was dark and heavy as well, great sample. 5/5 15. "Love the Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna)- I'm not even going to talk about this garbage. 2/5 16. "You're Never Over"-I appreciated the song he made as a tribute for Proof, but Em don't you think you could've used a MORE EMOTIONAL beat for a song like this than a drum claps, southern style beat? A beat like that for a TRIBUTE SONG for someone who PASSED away? 3/5 Final Verdict: I give the album a 4/5. I took a point off for his weird scrambled out flow, and too much singing. Don't sing Em. Music Without Lyrics: 9 Great Rock Songs You Can’t Sing Along To
Source: beatcrave.com --- Wednesday, July 07, 2010
Singing and lyrics are important in a rock band; it’s hard to imagine The Beatles without John Lennon or The Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger . But once in a while, the singer sits back and lets the rest of the band take care of business and something wonderful happens as a result. These are those songs, in no particular order. 1. Weiss Heim (Rainbow) Richie Blackmoore ’s ill-fated Rainbow pumped out some classic rock songs in their time, helped out quite a lot by lead vocalist Ronnie James Dio . It’s surprising, then, that one of Rainbow’s best all-time songs doesn’t involve Dio at all. With some excellent – though not incredibly flashy – guitarwork and a surreal, ethereal backing, Weiss Heim makes awesome look easy. 2. Moby Dick (Led Zeppelin) Jimmy Page and company only come in at the beginning and end of this song, letting drummer John Bonham do his thing all through the middle. Bonham proceeds to string together one of the greatest drum solos of all time, showing that a little restraint can go a lot farther than indiscriminate banging. It quickly became a staple at Led Zep concerts, allowing Bonham to go nuts for a good ten, twenty, or even thirty minutes. 3. Eruption (Van Halen) The song that spawned a thousand finger-tappers, Eruption may well be the most influential rock instrumental of all time. Oddly enough, Eddie Van Halen ’s ridiculously amazing guitar prowess was established via a song he didn’t even want to play (it ...
