I'm our church piano player/choir director, and I'm forever looking for sheet music for a lot of the old bluegrass gospel songs. I know how to play them by ear, but the choir doesn't do too well with just lyric sheets; they need the notes on the page. I've got probably a dozen hymnals and songbooks and always adding to the list, but this time I've run up against a wall. I can't even find a reference online to a book that contains it. The song I'm looking for is a bluegrass standard; "I went down a beggar but I came up a millionaire". If anybody has got a song book with that song in it that could give me the title, or else knows what volume it could be found in, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I've spent a few weeks or more searching online hymn sites, book stores, music stores, etc. Haven't come across it yet. I can find the lyrics no problem, but what I need is something with music notes. Fake book would work; so would standard SATB or hymnal format. Thanks! more

I've just realized how bad music is now a days. I was born in 1997 so I've missed The Beatles, The Who and all those other popular bands, seems like all teens are left with now is Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, T-Pain etc. Seriously, does anyone actually like Justin Bieber or such? All most teen girls care about now a days is looks, and in my opinion, it starts off with a bunch of people listening to Justin Bieber, and then people want to fit into that group, so they listen to Justin Bieber too, now, Justin Bieber's videos are the most popular videos on YouTube, can anyone explain to me why? Why not The Beatles, I know they had their time, but what else are we supposed to listen to? I try to listen to something better than "stereotypical music" that everyone listens to, for example.. Chase and Status (Drum and Bass), Way Out West (Mix of Drum and Bass, Techno etc). Also in addition I believe back in the days there were actually good rappers, 2pac and such that made sense, now if you listen to lyrics, all you hear is for example "Stuntin' like my daddy! Stuntin' like my daddy!" which in my opinion makes no sense, where as in 2pac had a point to his music like in these lyrics from his song Ghetto Gospel "Before we find world peace We gotta find peace and end the war on the streets." What I've noticed all over the world, good things start disappearing, and now all we get is "fake" music and such, all the greatest people of the century are leaving the earth. My point is, why all the fake music and fake life basically, everything is fake now a days.. Disscuss. By the way, I've just signed up for yahoo to ask this, It's 1:31AM, I'm 13, and I've got school in the morning, hope your enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure what is in the water, but it seems like every music artist out there (any genre) is losing their mind. I know it's the 21st century and times have to move on, but times are moving on for the worse in terms of music. The artists that we want to come back and change the game are falling off and starting to follow trends. Obviously no artist is looking at youtube comments, or else they would know that a majority of people are tired of autotune, lame beats, and repetitive lyrics with no creativity. It's like artists are trying to make a quick buck and aren't taking time to craft good songs. I had seen the list of rappers that were going to release albums this year and i thought hip hop might turn around, but after all the singles i'm hearing, i'm starting to think twice. Ludacris with nicki minaj? Really? Money to blow? How did ludacris go from hip hop quotables to my chick bad? It's just awful. And the game has a new single out that's trash, and he's experimenting with autotune. Even though he's not hip hop, usher has fallen off too. That new song with Will.I.Am is trash. And don't even get me started on the jonas brothers for rock and lady gaga for pop. All genres, excluding gospel and jazz probably, have fallen off. I mean, at least jay z did realize people were tired of autotune, and did his song DOA, but then his whole BP3 album had alot of filler on it, so that stopped him. How does everyone feel about the current state of music for most genres? And i don't wanna hear nothing about "just listen to underground", because i don't even like underground from the 2000s. I prefer 90s underground and 80s/90s/early 00s mainstream. hey. I've been focused on track and preparing for AP tests. more
