Sir, Iam NRI . I got married in 2006 in tamilnadu and filed for divorce in 2008 in the family court of chennai. My wife filed an RC petition in her home town immediately after I had filed for divorce. She was trying to drag the proceedings in the family court of chennai. So, I got an CRP order from the High court of chennai to complete the case within six months. Meanwhile, I had also filed for the RC case to be transferred from her home town to chennai on the grounds that Iam an NRI and my father (power of attorney given to him)is a heart patient (medical certificate provided to the High court of chennai)who will be unable to travel long distances. Now, a high court judge of chennai has passed an order on my transfer petition that the RC petition cannot be transferred from her home town and further, he has ruled that my divorce case also to be transferred to her home town. Kindly note that there was no pray from my side or from her side to transfer the divorce case that I had filed in chennai. Now, can I approach the Supreme court saying that the first ruling of CRP (finishing the case within 6 month)ultravires the second ruling of transfer of case from chennai to her home town and further and the judge has not considered the fact that Iam NRI who needs to pay hefty air travel fees or my father, a heart patient, has to travel around 700 kms. Secondly, Sir, I would need your advices on "Irretrievable breakdown of marriage". Iam staying alone for the past 3 years and which can be proved using my passport. Today, I realized that in one year, I might be travelling the world. Or at least part of it. It kind of shocked me. I don't know why it took me so long to realize that it's such a short amount of time away. It's so crazy to think about leaving home to travel for a year or more. And I learned that my cousin, who is going into the same grade as me (twelve) is also planning on travelling for a year after graduating. I hope we can meet up for a while somewhere. I don't know where he is planning on travelling, though, and I don't even know where I will be travelling either. I'm all excited about this. It will be so amazing to see things in person that I have only ever seen in books and on TV before. Whether I will have someone to travel with me or not will affect where I travel to. If I do have someone to travel with, my top picks are India, Vietnam, and Ethiopia. My cousin, who I mentioned above, is half East Indian and has been to India a few times as his dad (my uncle) was born and grew up there, and his family lives there still. I would love to travel with my cousin through a part of India for a while and maybe meet his Indian side of the family. I keep smiling thinking about all this. I've only ever travelled to America before, but I love travel and other cultures. I've been waiting for this for years and I only have one year left to wait. At boo ya: I actually saw your question right after I asked this. I was planning on asking this since two or three hours ago. When I saw your question, I was like, "Whoa, that's weird," because no one ever asks questions like that yet we both did at the same time. moreOpen Question: Should I take a year off University?
I am going to be starting my second year this September but want to know it I should even go to school because Im already taking second semester (Jan - April) off because I am travelling to India, Hong Kong, and Australia. My parents are paying for my flight ( :D ) so thats covered but my dumb self did not save any spending money this summer. I took no summer classes and saved up no money this summer. So I was thinking that I could work full time from Sept - Dec so I could save up a bunch of money (and so I can help my parents with my ticket). I just want to know if I should even take the WHOLE year off cause I really dont want to fall behind.. Im not scared that I will get lazy or anything and never go back to school cause I know I will for sure. PLEASE HELP! moreOpen Question: Help me out with the title and author of this series?
So last summer I was reading this books that were fiction, but I remember magic in them so they were also fantasy. The first book was about these twins named Rachel and...I can't remember her brother's name. But they were basically sent to their aunt or grandmother in this town in the middle of nowhere. But then they meet this weird kid who has dark skin and doesn't really have a name and he has these strange powers. So then there's all this drama about his evil guy in town and there's a magic artifact that's in a field that everyone wants but the strange boy convinces the twins that they have to make sure that no one steals it. And so then at the end their mother comes down in a helicopter and they leave with them, but then at the start of the second book, the twins are in this sterile facility that's made to look like their rooms and they have to go through tests and are always monitored but then they end up escaping and traveling around the world with the same strange boy and they go to India and some Spanish place and then at the end they're at this beach and Rachel and her brother had to go into a cave and swim in this pool to retrieve a glowing...artifact again, but they got trapped in the cave and then the book ended with some one's hand digging out of the sand and I'm pretty sure the third book in the series already came out but I haven't read it because I can't remember what the series is called. TT___TT So I'm really sorry if my description is suckish but if you have no idea what I'm talking about please don't leave mean comments...thanks. moreOpen Question: democratic rights must excercised & must not be just stored in conscience safekeeping:the rev kamal karna:ok?

Long distance relationship.?
I'm from California, he's from London. We married in California. We have been married a year and a half. We have always had a long distance relationship from the start. We spent our longest married time together (5 months) traveling India. After India and receiving my UK visa, I moved to London in hopes of starting our lives together. But, there was always something wrong with him. As a result, I was very neglected by him while trying to get on my feet in a foreign country. So, I told him we should see a counselor. It turns out he has a ton of issues with family and his childhood and that he says he needs to "fix himself," ALONE, with a capital A! The counselor told him he was never in the right mindset to get married. He agreed. He began to question before myself and the counselor whether he loved me, whether he was ready for marriage, why he couldn't be the support I needed. I was dumbfounded. After finding this out, he said I should fly back home and that we should get a divorce "for peace of mind." My stay in London was one month (May-June 2010). After I found out he didn't even want to be married or maybe ever realize that he was, and that he wanted to work on his problems solo, I did move back to the U.S. We have spoken on the phone twice in 2 months, in which he and I agreed to move on separately. I never would have married him had I known he was not in "the right mindset" to get married. I feel like I was the only one who was serious about getting married. How does someone tell you so many promises about spending the rest of their life with you, only to come up with that he has to work on himself alone? Doesn't getting married mean work on problems together? I am so confused. But I guess the only explanation is that in his mind he never was married, so to decide to work on his problems alone doesn't seem out of the question. Does anyone know, does this constitute as annulment or divorce? Thank you, Crushed moreOpen Question: What is the cause of a nomadic lifestyle?
I always get tired of being in a place for so long. I changed schools a lot growing up so perhaps I got used to it; moving before anyone could get close to me. I'm currently in California, US and have been wanting to move away to Chicago or Boston. When I was in Oregon I wanted to be in Cali and when I was in Arizona, I eventually wanted to be in Oregon. I've thought about life in Canada and the UK. I have this want to travel the world...currently, I want to go to India and spend time taking in that culture. I look into my future and see difficulty staying stagnant for the rest of my life. I can't imagine having to be in one place for the rest of my journey. By the end of a certain period, I want to get away to experience something new. I fear that this will happen through my life; I'll keep wanting to leave for something else. One of my biggest fears in life is being alone. If I'm always leaving, I will always be alone. http://www.happenchance.net/pros-cons-of-a-nomadic-lifestyle/ No, I'm not currently living one but that is where I'm headed. moreOpen Question: What do I do about choosing a major/career when my interests keep changing? And if you can, why do they change?
I was originally an Elementary Ed major. I began having doubts and started looking into other careers. I remembered I was good at Math, English, and Psychology back in HS as well as Biology and Anatomy&Physio. I thought perhaps I could take math/science courses and switch to a math/science major. I, however, can't think of any careers in the area to be enthusiastic about. I like the human body but cannot be in hospitals around sick people. Recently, I came across a person I became very interested in who is half indian and who embraces their culture. Since, I've wanted to completely understand the Indian culture and have this intense want to visit India. Through all of this, I've become more interested in the liberal arts and humanities. I've looked into Philosophy courses, specifically one on the Philosophy of Religion. I've looked into Poetry classes and other English courses. I suddenly want nothing to do with math and science. This interest began less than a week ago, so I can't say it will stay. I really don't know what direction to take. I don't know which classes I should pursue. I've never had a dream job. I can't think up any occupations that I will absolutely fall in love with. So, I figure my career will not be my priority in life. But because I will be with this career for a while, I want it to be something I enjoy and will be great at. I want to earn money so that I will be able to travel and spend on other leisure activities/items. Traveling is something important to me; I've always wanted to get away and experience other cultures. This is one reason I questioned Elementary Ed; I wouldn't make much. Again, I don't know what to do. I'm really stuck and could use help. Also, if you could address why my interests keep changing so suddenly; why I am so indecisive. What will I do once I have a career and I keep wanting to pursue other things? moreOpen Question: What do I do about choosing a major/career when my interests keep changing?

I think the handbook should be limited to "how to handle people from a country, who actually win more than one medal." Therefore, worrying about pissing off people from the Middle East or India would not matter. Their combined medal total will be three, none gold. And why is it that Americans are rude? Why isn't, "that's the way we are." Americans have to be concerned with insulting natives of other countries. We are always being asked to change our ways, when visiting other countries. I can understand this, but why is not the reverse expected. People who visit the US should be expected to follow the following: shower often, wear deodorant, do not cut people off when driving or walking, and refrain from frequent flash photography. And from Mexico's point of view, it should not be illegal immigration, but "illegal emigration." They are leaving, not coming. Many countries bash the people of the US for being rude, but gladly accept our money, food, and support in times of need. Please I wish one foreign government to say refuse US support. My tax dollars would be better spent inside of US borders. I mean Seriously My wife and i are planing to go and they are already throwing insults our way? moreResolved Question: Friend threatened by family because he was in an interracial relationship, sad situation right?
This happened last year. I have an Indian friend who was dating and engaged to this Brazilian girl (Black hair and olive skin, looked sort of Italianish, heck she looked great, nice body and pretty face). Well his parents first acted like they were okay with it and everything but he told me that he does not trust them because they may play a trick, as a result he decided to keep his passport from them when they asked him to travel to India with them. Well he traveled to India with his parents, basically his parents wanted him to "see his homeland" but he knew something was up. They took him to his home in India where other relatives of his threatened him and yelled at him for being with a Brazilian girl and he said that they yelled all sorts of words at him, calling him a "kutta" which is supposed to be an insult in Hindi. Well they tried to keep him locked inside the house in an attempt to make him agree to an arranged marriage and they even tried to take his passport from him which he kept safe. He said that he denied them and some of them hit him with sticks. He told me all of this and I mean we were worried, like what happened to him, he was supposed to be back in a week but 3 weeks and no word from him. I called him and he said he was trying to find a way out, finally he found his opportunity to escape, got to the airport unharmed, left his clothing that we packed for the trip behind and I met him in the US. 2 weeks ago he got married to his girlfriend and now he lives far off from his parents and has no contact to them but this is a very sad situation right!? moreResolved Question: Indians stink and have bad hygiene, have we just been underexposed to Indian people here in the US?
I work in a company with a lot of Indians and lets say some do have a problem with bad hygiene and a lot of them have issues with the curry smell and the accent won't help them pick up girls either. Recently I took a trip to India (North India) and I found that a vast majority of Indians there didn't look as bad as the ones who come here to the US. Some had good hygiene, a lot of the guys were tall and looked more Italian and Middle Eastern (they were North Indians). I notice that the Indians who come here to the US tend to be short and dark. I asked an Indian person about this and he said that a lot of the Indians who are tall and light tend to have it good in their own country so they don't come abroad while a lot of the short and dark ones that have bad hygiene come abroad to find more opportunities. Lets admit, a large majority of us Americans think Indians smell and have bad hygiene, also that all of them are short and dark but in traveling to India I found that to be false. Do you think that we have just been underexposed to Indian people here in the US? moreOpen Question: USA Work Permit for Indian??? UAE past?

Air India failed to confirm Tamil Nadu’s Hindu religious and charitable endowments minister K R Periyakaruppan’s ticket even though he was issued a wait list ticket on the Chennai-Madurai flight on August 3. However, wife of an Air India official travelled on the same flight in business class on a free ticket (a discount ticket issued to staff and their relatives) that is issued only if seats are available. The minister had paid Rs 11,800 for his ticket. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Minister-denied-ticket-but-AI-staff-kin-flies-for-free/articleshow/6285021.cms My view: I don't support the minister.Since it has happened to a VIP,it has come to light. .. , and that anything that he said about Christians had any merit, especially since his education and religious belief was based on EASTERN thinking. His bio does not say anything about him traveling to the west and actually meeting Christians. If you have a source to the contrary, please let me know. I checked out his Wiki entry (yes, Wiki) and found these quotes: " I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Everyone knows this one, but I have never seen further explanation for what he was saying and why he would say this. OK, he can like or not like whomever he wishes, but Ghandi's preferences should not influence others' thinking about Christianity. What about other religious beliefs, including his own? There is just no clarity in his statement. Later in his life, when he was asked whether he was a Hindu, he replied, "Yes I am. I am also a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist and a Jew." What was he talking about? If he understood Christianity, he wouldn't say this. I just don't understand what relevance he has in spirituality. I know he was good politically (and spiritually?) for India, but that is about it. Oh, source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohandas_Karamchand_Gandhi I love how people like to critique my question, picking it apart, without answering the original question. moreVoting Question: I am looking at traveling?

So I am an American born Indian guy, no accent, no "curry" smell a lot of European complain about, and I am tall for an Indian guy (as my friends tell me). Now my friend who is a White guy came back from Europe and he said that talking to the women there, a lot of them had negative things to say about Indian men and everything. Now here in the US it is quite different, you see Indian men date women of all backgrounds and all racial groups, most of the younger people don't care about race or anything. Now my friend said that in his travels to Western Europe, majority of all women there hated Indian men. I personally do not plan on going with or even considering to date a European girl if what my friend said is true. Then again my friend might be joking or something. moreOpen Question: Is there no need to have stricter censorship on commercial advertisements shown in India?
A guy in a hosiery ad trying to scare a girl by pretending to touch her below the waistline, a chap offering his friend a gas-relief capsule while travelling in car to help discharge the abdominal gas through both ears, a guy asking a girl at bus-stop to offer him a bite from her chocolate bar she was eating, a woman advising her friend, after conceiving, to take "emergency contraceptive pill" for immediate abortion, a hair-expert showing how to measure mass of hair with measuring tape after use of a particular shampoo, air-conditioners, fridges and other electrical equipment walking by themselves in the street (through UPS) are a few of the obnoxious and absurd type of ads which make one feel disgusted and mentally sore. Such ads are having more undesirable effects on the minds of children in the lower age-groups. Should such foolish and absurd ads not be stopped at the earliest by imposing stricter censorship? Yes, Poodie, there was a 'slip' and I make a correction that Emergency Pills don't induce abortion but they do destroy the sperm, ovum or the initial foetus within 72 hours of sexual relation to prevent conception. However, that is not the point. My submission is: are these foolish, absurd and sometimes vulgar ads not causing any damage to the society? If the Govt. can monitor and control ads which make tall and false claims, why not such ads too are brought within its purview? moreOpen Question: What are the relations or links between mythologies and religions?

have a question, I am in deep trouble. I have suffered a lot because of my wife. we were married around 3 years back, since then we have not really stayed together. She was employed in a different location and i was employed in Bangalore.I had to travel abroad for work, but she was not ready to leave her job and come with me. Hence i used to travel down to India to meet her as many as 6 times per quarter. She was staying in a PG that time. In another 7-8 months after our marriage, she conceived. She delivered and then i came down to Bangalore. I forced her to come over and stay with me over here with the kid. For the past 2 years we have been separated. I have my own house in Bangalore. I waited for 8 months and after that I filed a divorce petition against her. Mental incompatibility is the main reason, She is unable to adjust with my relatives in my native. She has abused them a lot to that extent that i really do not want to take trouble and take her into my life. Many a times, while i was at work, she has threatened to me over phone that she wanted to end her life and would do it immediately. The problem was she wanted me to leave my job and settle in her family in her native in her mom's house. I had filed for a divorce but many a times she has abstained from coming. The judge had sent for counseling twice and the counsellor had terminated counselling because she would appear once and then not turn up at all. It has been almost 1.5 years the judge is posting for a future date and she is not turning up on account of a job / medical reason. After she left i found my passport missing. She filed a 498A on my and got me and my parents arrested on account of dowry. People who know me,they know my position in society, i have my own house, i dont have sisters to marry off, all my brothers are abroad settled, my parents are goverment servants who are retired. We have our own houses built in 3-4 districts of my state and all are well-off. Why would i want to steal/ keep her her gold and ornaments in custody? I sometimes found the way she talked and thought, she was mentally unsound. Now i am unable to fly abroad as i have my passport stolen and also until the criminal case gets over i cant apply for any VISA. I am stuck here, for the last 2 years, living all alone in Bangalore, cant move out, the case is just getting postponed. My questions are : How long will it take for the divorce to get through? This is definitely not going to be through mutual consent as now she does not want to give in, and her mom has vowed that she will have me suffering in life. She has 100% misused Section 498A to harm me. After we parted i have not had the kid at all with me, except a glance when i have visted the court in my native. How long can she abstain from appearing? It is not continuously she not turning up. ALternate times she does not turn up. I should say there has been around 12 dates given from court, she has appeared just 2-3 times. Each date has a gap of 1.5 months. Can the judge be biased by any chance on my wife's side? (on account of any friendship / fact that he knows them?) I am tired of travelling to native spending around 3k each time going there for a pointless result of her not turning up and the judge posting the same to a future date. When will i get justice? When can i live my life? When can i have my kid? Can i apply for guardianship? The criminal is also charged against me, and the stories mentioned in the charge sheet are all damn ficticious. Any person who knows me, at my workplace or personally, (i work in a company that is ranked top 5 in the market), the technology/ field i work is very much challenging and i have won a lot of client appreciations. The technology i work on is hot in th market and believe me, I have simply posted my resume in the naukri/monster and have got a lot of responses from worldwide organisations. What i mean to say is I am suffering and stuck up here for no reason. I have suffered a lot in my life, my kid is around 3 years old. I am unable to father my kid or even take the kid and cuddle her. What happens to me? How do i gain justice? I have never had a peaceful life. I have never taken anything from her but have always contributed for her well being transferring money, I have not stolen gold from her but I have bought her ornaments on occasions, in fact I had taken her with me to abroad thrice and shown her the place. I have tried my best being a good husband and yes, of course there have been times when I have raised my voice and had to ignore her tantrums. I feel i have never lived a good life. Things were good until i got married and I feel i have put myself into a pit getting her in my life. I am unable to do anything and I now am stuck up in 2 cases - one is the divorce and the other one is Criminal - that she charged against me with a lot of allegations. My self esteem and of my parents, the dignity moreVoting Question: Are there companies that set up apartments in India for NRI? (moving companies)?

This is from a postcard posted 3rd. July 2010 which has only just arrived in London! Salam Alleycum, We are currently staying in a camp in the middle of the Wadi Rum desert. Last night we slept on mattresses under the stars which was a magical experience. The sky dazzled and there were even some shooting stars thrown in for good measure!! Today we took an 8 hour camel trek into the appropriately named "Wilderness Area" of the desert. The slow-moving pace of the camels was an atmospheric way to soak up the vastness and the emptyness of this unwordly place. That said I don't think I'll be rushing back on a camel any day soon - they're moody and they STINK!!! Prior to the desert we visited the ancient city of Petra (of Indiana Jones fame). The city was amazing with stunning sandstone monuments, including the one overleaf (the "Treasury") which you view by walking through a narrow 2KM gorge. Breathtaking stuff. http://dakkak.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/petra3.jpg Our time in the middle-east is coming to an end (flight to India booked for 14th.
