Open Question: To which government office do we report travel agency scams?

Basically, I paid for a package tour months ago and was told by the agency that everything is confirmed. However, when I was given the voucher just this week, I took the initiative of checking with the tie-up tour operator in HK which is supposed to "take care" of me. Surprise: II was informed by the HK tour operator (today) that my agent did not remit the money and they canceled my tour! My money is still with the agent. She's nowhere to be found but she promised (through text) to remit the payment. She should have done this last April! My flight is this Monday and I'm without a confirmed hotel and tour booking! Where do I report this type of deception? To which government agency? Or should I report this to the media? I'd appreciate some link or e-mail address to actually contact. Thank you.  more

Open Question: Paris visit-We have planned a tour to Paris in the year end.(2 adults/ 2kids aged below 10)?

But we have note opted to travel with any guide or tour operator. We wish to travel independently. How many days is actually required to cover the attraction of Paris. I have the Blackberry Tour (model 9630, I believe). I have been very happy with my current carrier but being off work on medical is killing my financial obligations. A third of my income going to a cell phone is no longer optional. Therefore, I'm being forced to return to Cricket (which also was fine so long as I didn't travel outside my area, of course). Open Question: What careers could I have if I was a musician?

I'm planning on being a musician when I graduate high school but I'm not sure how I can also have a decent income and have a second job. I've had good grades for all of my life and I'm ahead of my class in math. I'm going to take harder math and science classes in high school and go to college. I hope to get a master's degree in college and possibly a job relating to science, cosmetology, or art. Is there a way that I can work a part-time job and be a touring musician? I really want to travel and perform in many different countries, but I also want to do something relating to science. I heard of someone that was a tattoo artist and musician and he was allowed to take months from tattooing to tour and record. I'm open to other career suggestions that you may think I would like.  more

I'm going to Japan for a 2-week tour, and then i'm staying in Tokyo for a week after the tour finishes. What is there to do in Tokyo? Open Question: Is the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie too hard to get to without a car?

I'm doing a 6 day guided walking tour in the Dordogne region in late September and when it finishes, I thought I might have a look at one village on my own. After looking at umpteen websites, travel blogs, tourist websites etc, etc. it is apparent that you really need a car to visit these little hilltop villages which is a shame coz I don't drive! I was going to go wtih Rocamadour but have been put off because it just looks too hard. I was also looking at Beynac and St Emilion but they look too hard to get to as well (keeping in mind I have to rely on trains/buses). So now I was thinking of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie which looks just gorgeous after looking at Google Images. I've seen that there is a bus that goes from Cahors and passes Tour de Faure where you have to get off, walk back and over a bridge and up the hill for 2 kms. Has anyone done this? Is it too hard? Is it worth it? Cheers  more

I've already booked a tour and have my travel permit. However, I went to try to buy train tickets on the day and at the time that they went on sale, but they were already sold out. Dear All, in a couple of weeks I'll be taking my fiancee and her son (she's 40, he's 11) around London and acting like a 'Tour Guide' and I was looking for some suggestions to do that are either 'Free' or InExpensive. I was thinking of things like The Tower Of London, Changing of the Guard, Namco Museum, London Eye, Transport Museum, Aquarium, etc But what else is there, also it doesn't have to be within Central London, as long as the travel is withing the 'Tube' Zonal System. My wife and I are looking forward to visit Kolkata and Darjeeling during mid July (We don’t know much about Darjeeling’s weather – so please enlighten us). We are residents of Dhaka, Bangladesh. And we’ll start from Uttara, Dhaka. We like to travel by train (second option bus). We want to reach Kolkata first and then visit Darjeeling. We want to stay at Kolkata for five or six hours before we leave for Darjeeling where we’ll stay for two nights and back to Kolkata and stay there for two more days. We want to enjoy the Toy Train Ride and go to Ghum and other places to visit in Darjeeling. We want to make it a safe trip and we would very much like to have a little privacy in the public transport but we don’t have big bucks to spend. Please suggest the best possible route, accommodation options, food cost, travel cost and total overall cost it may require for us to spend. We will be grateful if anyone among you help us on this. Voting Question: Stuck in the middle, and need some advice?

Background, I'm a mother of two (27 and 25 ),never married, but recently engaged to love of my life. We've been living together for well over 7yrs & I've known him since 1993. He's almost perfect for me. His biggest downfall is he's' not a family man, much less a people person, which is totally opposite of me. Whenever my children come around he's acts all strange. I tell him I'll always be a mother, as long as I'm on this earth & that'll never change, no matter how old my children are. He has one child, a son who only lived with him for a few years. He's the diciplinary type / family provider, by no means a nuturer ,huggie feely type. When he's upset he shuts down, he stops talking & starts ignoring. Hey , I said he's almost perfect. Believe it or not we (I) manage to we mange to make things work. My 25 year old is pretty much on her own.She recently received her Master's and is making a lie for herself. My 27 year old on the other hand is a bit of a gypsy. He's 2 classes shy of completing his BA degree, and it doesn't look like he's planning on finishing up anytime soon. He's following his dreams,( which I've told both my children to do )of producing & performing music & he's actually really good at it, he just hasn't caught his break.,and the reality o it is he may never catch a break. He's traveled abroad and he's worked with several well known artist, but he still needs more exposure. He was working about 2 yrs ago but got laid off and had to come back home. My Fiance and I agreed that he could stay until he got on his feet. He has a key to the house and is free to come and go as he pleases, but he is hardly ever here, at the most he'll pop in once very other week, if he's in town. He hasn't had a steady job or income since & he really has no desire to join the rest of us by getting a conventional job,but assures me he is looking or work. He doesn't really live at our home per say; his clothes & a few other belongings are here , but he pretty much stays at his cousins house. My Fiance wanted us all to sit down and talk when he first got here, about his plans but soon after that was mentioned my son was off to Asia for 6 mos. When he returned he went on a short tour traveling to various states. He spends hours on end at music studios, which is where I say he lives, but my Fiancee sees it differently. He seems to think that my son is avoiding having a conversation about his plans. My son doesn't ask for money or anything else for that matter and I personally don't see the harm in him staying in our large 5 bdrm home;It's only the two of us and our dog. I do want my son to get a real job, offer to pay a bill or two, save some money to get out on his own all while still pursuing his music career. He assures me he'll talk to my fiancee and he's been looking for work. My fiancee on the other hand wants me to cut him off and if I don't he'll cut me off. What kind of love is that ???? For the past week I've been ignored as if I don't exist because I didn't want to discuss the issue when he called me at work. I personally don't think it's fair for him to ask me to choose between him and my son. As a mother I always felt that my job is to be available to my children when they need me, just as my parents are there for me. I don't want to be an enabler, but I don't want to be given ultimatums either. Oh and did I mention my fiancee is a mommas boy,there's nothing and I mean nothing she won't do for him, but needless to say he doesn't see it that way. I love this man and I love my son,but this situation is driving me insane. Help ? I need fresh ideas,and different opinions,which I'm sure I'll get, but I welcome all input & from there I'll move forward.  more

Before I start to tell my problem about us I want to tell how we start; we used to go out with group of friends before that's where I start developed my feelings to him until one day I told him I full in love with him, he said " You are too young and you don't know what love is" I was turning to 21 yr old then and he was 38 yr old marriage with 2 young teens girls.I thought I would settle dawn with any man who wanted me this time to forget him too, sooner I met the father of my son, he asked me to marry him and talked my family to settle dawn with me before our weeding schedule arrive I got pregnant then I asked my fiancee to re-schedule the wedding after I giving birth. I had a terrible time of conception, I still communicating with this bf I have now then as purely friend, he monitored my fiancee moves action that can be showing of any betrayal on me when am out of town until one time he reported me that my fiancee seeing some girls while am out of town.I split with my fiancee and asked him to just support our baby until university.My bf now is become my boyfriend and I know I should not take it seriously because he is a married man and he doesn't love since he turn me dawn in the beginning, but he said to me then that "I lost you once and I never let you out my life again" He asked me to live with him and after one year he will apply the divorce to his wife. I believe that so I live with him.during that time we live together he still go back to his family for the reason that he was visiting his 2 kids only, but I just wonder why he put on the table as display their photo wedding.I thought that was an insult on me, but I was so confused then specially after a year as promised no divorce happen and for the reason that his kids he cant see them if he divorce his wife then, I wanted to exit at his rented house and live away from him and I wanted to live back my fiancee since my fiancee asked me to start new strong relationship again not only for us but for our son, but my bf now showed me that he couldn't live with out me, he didn't asked me to stay but I can see on his actions.I live with him for 3 years in one house with my son, my son developed a relationship with him as step dad, after 3 years he was assigned to overseas and that's he continue spending time with me and my son every 3 weeks for few days and gradually went to 2 months and three months time before he come again and sometimes I travel to the place where he assign and sometimes meet him near by city my town.5 years ago he asked me to go find man who can be with me becasue he going back to his country, and yes I did try another relationship on his knowledge but I did it because I thought that was the right things to do because I don't want to be alone too and he said before he'll be completely gone in my life I should find man for me, so I did it but I didn't succeed because I feel so attached with him I cant give my love to others when I am attached with him, he knows that I did try many times but he keep communicating with me almost every other day overseas call over an hour and make sure I got anything I need in the house or in my business, he make sure that all financial needs is being provided by him, treat me to nice restaurant, get a ticket for 3 of us going to other country for tour and stay in best accommodation have made me forget what I should complaints about him, makes me tolerate and accept that I am a second woman n his life and we last until this time, I do not even jealous anymore when he go back to his country to be with his family. He is being nice and kind supportive with me and never fail to give his financial support with me every single month of his salary even his bonus he give it to me, He help have big house buy a nice car I have my little business but I have income or not he keep supporting me I thought that very lovable of him and makes me believe that I am his love and his family back his country he love as his flesh and blood and his wife is just a formality. I hope guys you read this and give me more analysis and give me better advise. of course most of the time its tolerable but sometimes it deeply hurting me. I just keep myself busy on my son and my little business so I wont remember my place on him. I love him, what do you think he love like I do?  more

Im 21 years old and my sister is 19. We have just decided that we will travel Europe at the end of this year and want to no the best way to go about it. We both have around $9000 after flights to spend so the more we can see for how much money we have the better. We both love to party and are thinking on a contiki tour but this can be expensive and its only for apprx 20 days and we had planned to travel for a couple of months. Are the any other tours groups or should we back pack? Resolved Question: Why is Hawaii not often included in many bands' tours?

I grew up in Hawaii and was always frustrated that all of my favorite artists would never travel to Hawaii on their tours, unless it was Bayfest in the summer, even then there has not been big names except for more recent years. I am guessing this is the same case in Alaska because both Hawaii and Alaska are not in the "continental u.s.". Is there an exact reason for this? My best guess is that it costs too much and the artists' agents figure there aren't enough fans to make the effort (which is completely wrong in most cases), but can I get some opinions? Well I am currently in college for music business and plan to do what I can to get more bands to hawaii. I'm just trying to get some background info about the issue. I understand that they have to fly to hawaii and the cost is high. But couldn't they rent temporary gear in hawaii just for that show? And then there are many artists that go to Asia, and Hawaii is a pit stop in between the U.S. and Asia, so they could easily play a show if they were going that way.  more

At times I get depressed dwelling on mistakes. It's hard to let go when some of the mistakes are permanent. I know everyone has problems, and we all have to deal with the cards we were dealt. The ups and downs are a part of life, but I don't want to struggle anymore. Life isn't easy trying to figure it out and the older I get the more responsibility I take on. I am a somewhat successful person in life. I've been to the army, did a tour in Iraq, graduated college, and traveled extensively. I am currently teaching English in Korea and I am only 28. The only thing stopping ne from killing myself is my family. I would hate to hurt my family because of my selfishness. I'm tired of having to coach myself to do better, push for more, do the right thing, and be the best I can be. I've set a high standard for myself, but I don't want to do it anymore. I've been friends this certain guy who is 6yrs older than me and he is in a touring band, i've known him since i was 17 and i wrote a song with him back then which he still plays & dedicates it to me. He is like my best friend who i can tell anything too & he has been my rock through a lot, He has always told me that he had feelings for me and just recently said he had fallen in love with me. He always tells me im his good luck charm and he has such a beautiful personality, charisma and creativity. I travel with him as much as i can now and we always share the same hotel room but never had any sexual encounters apart from kissing him although i admit a few times i really wanted it to go further. I really want to travel! I am 21yr old female and have so many places that i want to see! UK, Europe, And Vegas/La. Looking at personally planning the trip to North America but Contiki Tours for the rest. I am undecided on whether to do each trip over a few years so i will have enough time to save or get a personal loan and save as much as i can to go with it and do it all within a year and then come home, and pay it all off.
