India And Travel Questions and Answers
Open Question: Care to read my short story?
I'm only 14, I wrote this short story for fun. I'm looking for constructive criticism, thank you! -------- ----Watching 'Romeo and Juliet' on an agitated warm evening wasn't pleasing Quintus very much, especially with all the discrepancies those unprofessional actors were committing. Born to a greek family of historians and being the fifth of his family to become one, he didn't have a calm nature, particularly with the extensive travel his work brought him. Constantly shifting his weight from one armrest to the other, he decided to discreetly exit the theater and take a leisure stroll through the full streets of Cairo. Listening to the sounds around him, inhaling the aroma of freshly cooked, what seemed to be, kebabs. A little trinket caught his eye, an egyptian Ankh, an ancient symbol of life. He bargained with his gained skills from recent trips to China, India, and Indonesia; eventually purchasing the quaint symbol for half the original price, hardly making the arduous effort he had to make years before. He immediately hung the Ankh around his neck, feeling the most unusual desire to keep it close, to protect the newly attained object. Then, he heard, what felt like millions of voices inside his head, and seconds later, Quintus blacked out. He woke up what seemed to be hours, maybe days after his incident in the middle of the crowded streets. He hadn't the slightest idea of what had happened to him, much less who rescued him. Being of an adventurous nature, he stood up, not caring much about the severe migraine and the messages of exhaustion and fatigue his body was trying to send him. A nurse came running to his direction, speaking in a dialect he wasn't very proficient in but understood enough to communicate, Arabian. "Sir, you must not stand up!" Those words meant absolutely nothing to Quintus. "Wh- where is my necklace?" The nurse had a puzzled look on her face, almost scared that the man could care about such a seemingly worthless souvenir. "Your brother took it and said he would return it to you." Quintus had the same exact look the nurse had seconds before. "When was this?" "I.. I don't understand, sir!" "When did my 'brother' take it?!" Quintus repeated himself, nervously shouting. "Ju- just now, he left not long ago." He didn't wait for her to finish. Running out of the small cubicle the hospital called a room, he felt his limbs aching and his muscles turning to lead. He knew he had to keep on, his detrimental necklace wasn't the ordinary piece of jewelry. He expected to find an enormous muscular man guarding the Ankh; however, to his dismay, he saw a man standing at about 1.70m, hanging on to the necklace with such ferocity Quintus wondered what was so special about it. He ran after the his mysterious 'brother' through the labyrinth of people eventually reaching him in a repugnant smelling, narrow alleyway. He didn't bother talking, Quintus immediately ripped the ancient symbol out of the mans hand with such impetuous force he wondered if he had enough strength to move. "Who are you?" The man laughed as if Quintus' question was absurd, absolutely ludicrous. "You haven't the slightest idea who you are dealing with, do you, human?" He spoke as if he wasn't mortal, as if he wasn't a human himself. The man then abruptly disappeared into thin air, leaving Quintus astonished. The man had impeccable English, a phenomenon not common in Egypt. He examined the symbol one more time, noticing a few hieroglyphics engraved on the back. He couldn't help but mutter: "Who am I dealing with?" moreOpen Question: does any one has sample covering letter for SET(M)?

Housing has to be the most important factor, taxes are crucial as well; healthcare has also become an issue, as well as childcare.” Literacy plays an important role to develop any country or society. Literacy can lead to health awareness and empower people to participate in the cultural and economic well being of the country. Though literacy has improved considerably after Independence, it still lags behind compared to other countries. One of the main reasons being lack of Monterey resources for the disadvantaged and the orphans. We at Taayi Mane aim to bridge the gap between the children who strive to be educated & the goodwilled people who are willing to make these children’s dreams come true. Zimbabwe could end Pakistan's status as a no-go cricket zone after offering to tour the strife-torn and flood-devastated nation, officials said on Friday. The tour is loosely scheduled for later this year, probably during November and early December, and could be a series of ODIs and Twenty20 matches as decided by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Much depends, though, on a satisfactory security check and report beforehand, which will dictate whether the Zimbabweans actually go. The Zimbabwe players have not yet been sounded out on whether they are prepared to play in Pakistan, given its recent history of violence, but convenor of selectors Alistair Campbell told AFP he was confident the majority would be willing. "Nobody will be pressured to go if they decline," he said. Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Ozias Bvute said the idea of touring Pakistan, which has been off-limits because of the country's deteriorating situation, emerged several weeks ago. But the offer was developed into a fund raising effort designed to help the millions of flood victims. "It's become a gesture of help," he said. Bvute added that the Pakistan cricket authorities, currently engulfed by the spot-fixing scandal in England, have welcomed the idea. Pakistan are due to tour New Zealand towards the end of the year so that schedules may need to be worked out to accommodate the Zimbabwe series. Meanwhile Zimbabwe are smarting over the British government's advice to Scotland that they should not travel to Harare for their Inter-Continental Cup fixture in October. Campbell said: "We have 10 Englishmen playing cricket and coaching in Zimbabwe, including our national coach Alan Butcher, and apart from anything else the decision is an insult to them." But in a cautiously worded statement Bvute said that sport was a great healer and "strained relations will eventually be restored for the common good". Those strained relations are primarily with England, Australia and New Zealand, while Zimbabwe gets its main (and majority) support from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and to some extent South Africa and West Indies, helping to maintain their status as a full ICC member. After consultations with the International Cricket Council and with Indian and Sri Lankan authorities in June during a triangular series, it was agreed that Zimbabwe could make a return to Test cricket next May or June. That series could be against Bangladesh in Harare and Bulawayo and would end Zimbabwe's six-year Test exile. @The Anchor: Yes. At their own risk. God save them. moreVoting Question: I have got a job in Dubai in J Ray McDermott.?

I wrote two college essays over the summer, so that I could compare the two after I finished them. My first essay was about traveling to India and how the experience opened my eyes about the world. My second one was about me overcoming my fear of public speaking. I feel as if the first topic is more unique and not many applicants could write about that. I think the second one is a topic many people can write about and not very unique. My first essay is really bad though and doesn't really go anywhere. Recently I came across a letter written by Mr. Bajaj, (editor Times of India) to our PM few days after 26/11. I liked it and wanted to share it with u. It shows the anger which a common man has for politicians. Its a bit long but every line is worth reading. Please share ur views on this Dear Mr. Prime minister, I am a typical mouse from Mumbai. In the local train compartment which has capacity of 100 persons, I travel with 500 more mice. Mouse at least squeaks, but we don't even do that. Today I heard your speech, in which you said, 'NO BODY WOULD BE SPARED'.. I would like to remind you that fourteen years have passed since serial bomb blasts in Mumbai took place. Dawood was the main conspirator. Till today he is not caught. All our Bollywood actors, our builders, our Gutka king keep meeting him, but your Government can not catch him. Reason is simple; all your ministers are hand in glove with him. If any attempt is made to catch him, everybody will be exposed. Your statement 'NOBODY WOULD BE SPARED' is nothing but a cruel joke on these unfortunate people of India. Enough is enough. As such, after seeing terrorist attack carried out by about a dozen young boys, I realize that if same thing continues, days are not far away when terrorists will attack by air, destroy our nuclear reactors and there will be one more Hiroshima. We the people are left with only one mantra. Womb to Bomb to Tomb. You promised Mumbaikar Shanghai; what you have given us is Jalianwala Baug.. Today only your home minister resigned. What took you so long to kick out this joker? Only reason was that he was loyal to Gandhi family. Loyalty to Gandhi family is more important than blood of innocent people, isn't it? I am born and brought up in Mumbai for last fifty eight years. Believe me, corruption in Maharashtra is worse than that in Bihar. Look at all the politicians, Sharad Pawar, Chagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Bal Thackray , Gopinath Munde, Raj Thackray, Vilasrao Deshmukh all are rolling in money. Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the worst Chief ministers I have seen. His only business is to increase the FSI every other day, make money and send it to Delhi, so Congress can fight next election. Now the clown has found new way and will increase FSI for fishermen, so they can build concrete houses right on sea shore. Next time terrorists can comfortably live in those houses, enjoy the beauty of the sea and then attack our Mumbai at their will. Recently, I had to purchase a house in Mumbai. I met about two dozen builders. Everybody wanted about 30% in black. A common person like me knows this and with all your intelligent agency & CBI, you and your finance ministers are not aware of it . Where all the black money goes? To the underworld isn't it? Our politicians take help of these goondas to vacate people by force. I myself was victim of it. If you have time please come to me, I will tell you everything. If this has been a land of fools, idiots, then I would not have ever cared to write to you this letter. Just see the tragedy. On one side we are reaching moon, people are so intelligent; and on the other side, you politicians have converted nectar into deadly poison. I am everything Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Schedule caste, OBC, Muslim OBC, Christian Schedule caste, and Creamy Schedule caste; only what I am not is INDIAN. You politicians have raped every part of Mother India by your policy of divide and rule. Take example of our Former President Abdul Kalam. Such an intelligent person; such a fine human being. But you politician didn't even spare him. Your party along with opposition joined hands, because politicians feel they are supreme and there is no place for good person. Dear Mr Prime minister, you are one of the most intelligent persons, a most learned person. Just wake up, be a real SARDAR. First and foremost, expose all selfish politicians. Ask Swiss banks to give names of all Indian account holders. Give reins of CBI to independent agency. Let them find wolves among us. There will be political upheaval, but that will be better than dance of death which we are witnessing every day. Just give us ambience where we can work honestly and without fear. Let there be rule of law. Everything else will be take care of. Choice is yours Mr. Prime Minister. Do you want to be lead by one person, or you want to lead the nation of 100 Crore people? I plan on travelling to India and on my return will be at the tail end of my Malarone pills on the day of surgery to remove a cyst from my wrist. I will be under general anesthetic. I advised my surgeon of this and he does not seem concerned but my paperwork from the hospital states to stop taking certain meds prior to surgery, but Malarone (and it's component drugs) is not in the list. Does anyone have any info about the affects of Malarone and surgery? I will be taking other measures to prevent mosquito bites, should I stop taking the Malarone once I return home just in case? My wife is planning to fly to India from the UK and the flight is about 10hrs (considering no changes in between). What could be the consequences/symptoms if any or what care should she take to travel during the end of 5th month and return during 7th month. She will be travelling on her own. Any replies appreciated. Thanks in advance. Thanks everyone for your replies. As rachyboo was pointing out . . no I am not really happy for my wife to travel on her own. I am trying to accompany her on her return during her 7th month and as Pickle pointed out, I guess airline staff would help her with the luggage. We haven't booked our tickets yet but still in the planning stages whether to travel or not. As suggested, I would be talking to the midwife and decide on how to proceed. She is 8 weeks pregnant as of now. Have an appointment in 2 weeks time. Thanks once again for all of your time and concern you were showing. moreResolved Question: Help me For my career. Hi, I travel often in Asia and am amazed to see the beauty of Asian girls. Most of the times, people think of beautiful girls from Japan, China, India. But rarely from Korea. I was in Seoul last week and I think that Korean girls are head and shoulder above any other girls, Asian or not. Yet the world has not accepted the beauty of Korean girls. Just what is going on? Are any groups interested in letting the world know about the beautiful girls of Korea? moreResolved Question: black or brown and white striped worms or larvae in toilet?
Hi, today I found black/white striped worms in the toilet - about 1 cm (1/3 inch) long and 1 to 2 mm wide, with a big black head and 2 tiny antennas. They wriggled in the water and seemed to swim on the surface. It were about 10 to 20 of those things. There are also a few white worms about 1/2 inch long and much thinner I took them out of the toilet with a spoon and put them into a jar and the black ones all swim on the surface and it looks as if they try to get air with their antennas. The others were floating everywhere in the jar. The toilet is used frequently and clean, I have never seen any flies in the bathroom, but found shugar ants (tiny red ants) in the whole appartment today. The building is a highrise in hot climate and only about 3 years old. Could this still come from the toilet, maybe the pipes or could this be a worm infection??? I couldn't find anything like this in the internet... I am really worried (especially as I was travelling all over US, Egypt, India and Kuwait in the last months. Does anyone have any idea? According to Latest analyst America is biggest terrorist. Besides America, Israel is 2nd terrorist country. In this century Mr. Bush began this terrorism and still it is running without changing but is spreddind day by day. Actually this is a big game that is being played against the countries, those (countries) were expected to be strong in weapon field. Specially is is being played against the Muslim countries to Finnish their power and make them weaker so they (muslim countries) could not stand to defend itself. In few areas it was being done for greed of Oil too. According to (little) past history this was started against the muslim by English Govt in Hindustan when they traveled by the purpose of trading. Israel is not basically a country existed on its own land. Actually It occupied the Muslim place. If u have a mental power then just think it, is it not a injustice with muslims? Did you not think ever about this unlawful? If someone occupy your home and make you and your family victim then what will be your thinking and what will be your reaction? In-fact there is no terrorist in muslims, if there is, He has been compelled/forced by cruelty to take a Stand against the violent & big terrorist like America, Israel and India. These three countries are nominated and famous terrorist. France has been involved in terrorist indirectly but its nation is sleeping and have no idea of its dangerous future. But be aware, there will be destruction and restlessness and peacelessness inside terrorist countries because Every action has reaction. If have you a even little sense & pity for a human being then what should be opinion? moreResolved Question: Travelling with 15 month old to India. dreading the flight.?
