Voting Question: do some dad's are okay if their gay son is having sex with their male friend in a secret way?

my dad is a retired army and he has a friend who is also a retired army. my dad is 57 and he is 55. usually during weekend my dad and his friend togehter with some of their friends hang out and they drink. but just last weekend my dad when to paris togehter with my mom for vacation. so im the only one left home. im over 18 yrs old so i can manage my self, during that weekend i feel so bored that i cannot go out with my guy friends to play sports game and make out with them coz im gay and that day is really a bad weather. but during that afternoon my dad's friend came to our house and he is looking for my dad, my dad forgot to tell him that he and my mom are gonna be out that weekend. so i just let him in, so that i can talk with him and have a drink. he is a good guy and likes to talk about life experiences as an army. he is just nice and a good looking guy. i dont know what happened after 2 hrs. that we just started talking about sex probably im just a little drunk, that i act and talk sexual to him and he also likes it, he ask me if i had sex with guys before then, i said yes and he ask a lot of things like, if i enjoy it and if i like to suck or if i like or prefer a huge thing. im a bit shock but thats normal for me coz some guys are just like that and i already experience that before. so he ask me if this is the right time we could have fun then i said oh sure we are free to night maybe you could stay over. then he said yes. that night im so fully satisfied he is good in bed and we had sex 4 to 5 times that night. until now we even got more closer and just a secret for both of us to my dad that we are just friends with benefits.now i just feel so good about my self that i have that person who could give pleasure and to love him of that. right now i just have a lot of question in my mind if how long can i keep this to my dad or could i keep it a secret for the rest of my life? do u think my dad would be okay with that if he found out? he knows im gay but its just awkward to have sex with his friend. i feel like a sl*t but im okay with that.  more

Resolved Question: Ladies, of these three places, which is the best to go to on a couples holiday?

My girlfriend and I want to go on holiday. We've narrowed it down to three possibilities, Spain, France and Turkey. I suggested the south of France because I lived in Paris for several years or Spain because it's a pleasant enough country and we both speak a bit of Spanish. I'm not so keen on Turkey because we've never been there, we only know what little we've read about it and we don't speak the language. I feel like the likelihood of experiencing negative surprises and getting in arguments as result then spoiling the vacation are much greater in Turkey. Now, that I have expressed this to her, Turkey is precisely where she wants to go. I don't get it. Anyway, which of these three would be the best couples holiday destination(5 days)?  more

Resolved Question: Theres an educational program, ages 13-18 to travel to paris, is 14 too young?

My daughter is only 14 years old, And a freshman in highschool. She wants to go to paris, by herself, with other teenagers and some counselers. I think she is way to young, she should be doing that stuff when shes in college. She only has 3 years left with her family she should be spending every moment with them. I'm offering to take my husband, my other daughter, and the one daughter who wants to go to paris, all on vacation to europe. My daughter is upset that i wont just let her go on the program and is complaining that she wont see half the things she would see if our family went. she says she's going to get a job and make as much as she can, to go on this trip and put the money for it. But either way shes wasting her time im not letting her go. She wouldn't appreciate it the way she would in college. When i told her this, she said this to me "Mom, I'm not just another teenager, i dont spend my days asking for new computers, or new phone services, and i dnt just spend every day at the mall, texting my friends. No, I love my polaroid camera, and writting letters, and i love days at the park. You cant tell me i wouldnt appreciate this, because i've spent months trying to find a program like this, and most teenagers would just give up after the first page of google, also if i were too young, the program would be for ages 15-18, and i'm turning 15 this year, 4 months after the program. I wont be any different 4 months from now." Do you think shes too young or not? This isn't with her school, it's just a program for teenagers to travel. it's legit i've checked it out, but still. It's not that she isnt mature, because none of her friends are going, and it's more about seeing museums, and gallerys and foods and what not. But she is 14. i dont care how mature she is. shes 14.  more

Resolved Question: Do I have a chance???? Please, answer?

so theres this woman...Shes brazilian, I met her in August/2005, when she came to an international Catholic meeting in Köln...and I wasnt there for the meeting, only on vacations... Shes beautiful, gorgeous and her character is precious...So since 2005,we became friends... of course I was attracted to her, but she only treated me as a friend...so I didnt push it... During these years, she started a relationship in 2006, and lasted until few months ago (about 3 years)..I thought they would marry, because they have a similar life style...both r catholics, lawyers, do volunteer help, and r accustomed to swim every day, so, same work...same hobbies, but she found out that he cheated on her, and its over now..(terrible). Shes really upset, and in order to cheer herself up, she decided travel to Paris with her friends, in january.. I didnt understand, how come she didnt mentioned that we could meet during her vacation? (she knows I live in London). Is possible that she doesnt wanna see me? In doubt, I wouldnt waste the oportunity...So, I asked to see her..and she said: "ok". (Nothing more...) I wanna make it clear that during these years, my life was normal,(wasnt obsessed), gf, friends, family, work, in fact I was focused in my career. But since I know that shes single, my feelings for her got stronger.. Well, after 4 years of friendship, I know who she really is...and she got everything I want in a woman. So, I tryed to flirt with her, but she still treats me as a friend. Maybe because she just broke up? or shes not into me? I kinda expected that we could have a relationship.... but I think maybe shes not interested? What do u think? is a good idea meet her in Paris? Please help, thanks!  more

Resolved Question: How can I get over him?

Alright you guys may have better things to do than to read my pathetic little story. But see since it's so pathetic , I cannot dare share it with my friends and I seriously need help ! So there's this guy who i met through a mutual friend on Facebook. We never really bothered to chat until July and that's when I was away for my summer vacation. He lives in London and I live in Manchester and I am going away for a year to France . Met him last weekend coz I had to deal with some Business in London. We had the most amazing date and words cannot describe how happy he made me. Been single for 2 years and I'm not your typical promiscuous gay guy. And maybe that's why I'm so hung-up on this guy. I do not care for random sex an I'm very old fashioned when it comes to dating . I know nothing further can happen between us because i will have to spend a year in France and by the time i head back to England he might be in a relationship with someone. During the last 2 months (while I was on my summer vacation ) he and I used to chat on a weekly basis. I feel like this guy could be the one. Cheesy as it sounds but it's true. Wish I could postpone my trip to Paris but it's obligatory. I am falling for him and It's driving me mad. Could it really be love and If so , how do i come around telling him about my feelings? Now gay relationship politics are totally different than straight ones (esp gay men) I', really feeling helpless !! I am 20 years of age and I know that is just way too young and early to settle for something big. But what can I say, I don't care for meaningless sex and I believe since gay men still struggle with being accepted in society, the best thing I could do is be the best gay guy there is. I don't think long-distance relationships work. So should I just tell him how I feel , even when we only been on 1 real date? Sounds very childish and immature but love is really that strong. I see my friends having their flings and it sometimes takes them about 10 *ucks before they realize they're in love. I guess I'm just weird , I'm voting for unique. So what do you all think I should do? Please no hateful comments . Spread ur negativity elsewhere. Thanks Xx Oh and btw he thinks very fondly of me and he does like me . But he as hung-up on me as I am on him. Or atleast I think he isn't. Thanks for you're answers and please keep'em coming ! x  more

Resolved Question: Should I give my cat up ?

Hey everyone, I'm going to France for a whole year. I live in England and during the summer vacation I gave my cat to his breeder where I knew he'd be taken care of . The breeder also still looks after my cat's real mom and dad. She is so sweet and caring and my cat trusts her. So far I've had no luck finding and apartment that would accept pets in Paris. Those that do are very over priced and I simply cannot afford them . I am going on an exchange academic year and I will be studying in one of Paris's unis. The breeder offered to look after my cat for this whole year until i come back . She still did not tell me If I will be paying for his food and litter , which is logical . But my concern is that , maybe giving him up and leaving him with her for good is the better option . He is 10 months of age now and by the time I come back he will be 2 years old!. Wouldn't it be unfair for me to take him from his mom and dad again ? wouldn't it be psychologically damaging to my cat ? I love him to bits but It's time i got realistic and looked into his best interest. My cat has had a wonderful life with me . He even has his own passport. But do you think I should keep him with her for a year or should i just say goodbye and wish him a good life ? Thanks for you're answers. I am very heartbroken and I need some convincing words to make my mind at ease.  more

Resolved Question: A european's idea of a dream vacation?

If you ask any north american what their idea of a dream vacation is, they'll probably say something like london, rome, paris, or any major european city. But i've always wondered, for people who live in these popular tourist destinations, what's YOUR idea of a dream vacation? Since you live in these cities, you're pretty much on vacation everyday. But is there any city you're dying to visit?  more

Resolved Question: Just moved to UK, still getting settled-in and trying to plan a 4 days getaway vacation?

to Paris for a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids ages 7-16) during Aug.8-12. Total round-trip airfare from London to Paris appears to be the same as Euro-Star rail (~1100 pounds, except the train is closer to town than CDG airport). I welcome any suggestions on lodging accommodation, dining and how to plan this once in a lifetime trip without breaking the family bank? Thanks.  more

Resolved Question: Can I be prohibited from entry to the UK or any other European country because of my DUI 3 years ago?

I live in Anchorage Alaska. Back in April '06 I was convicted of DUI, which I paid the price and am over it. I've heard I can't travel to Canada because the law there prevents persons from being admitted into the country who have been convicted of a criminal offense. So my plans to vacation in Vancouver are out. So I'd like to go to London and Amsterdam and Paris and wherever over there. I'm asking any world-wise travelers who know for sure about this: Am I going to encounter the same problem going to Europe as I would going to Canada? Serious replies only from those who truly are knowledgable. Thank you.  more

Resolved Question: How to get to Folkestone to Paris?

I've never been to Europe and trying to plan a vacation. On August 1st I need to get from Paris to Folkestone. I need to get there by 3PM so it can't be a two day trip. I saw Eurostar had a trip to Ashford. Is that the best way to get there? Does anyone know a better way to get to Folkestone? Thank you  more

Resolved Question: Is it common for you guys to travel to the US for vacation?

I am just curious to see if it is commonplace to make your way across the pond. If so, where are the hotspots that are common for friends or family to visit? Whenever I make my way up to San Francisco for the day I always see a lot of British tourists. I see some French and German, but mostly British. Also, I remember as a kid, my family and I went to Zion National Park in Utah and I just remember how many Europeans were there. It seemed like there were more Europeans there than American tourists haha. Also, if any of you traveled to the US, what did you think of it and where did you go? (first time experiences) I want to know if you guys had a good or bad impression. When I went to Britain, we traveled up and down the country and traveled up to Scotland and we found the people to be very warm and patient! We couldn't understand them half the time but they didn't get mad (unlike some French in Paris) We didn't run into any anti-americans so it was a pleasant experience. We haven't been back in some time but my family definitely want to return some day :)  more

Resolved Question: Why being so harsh toward the french?

A few days ago, there was some french guy posting on here ranting about the uncivilized British behavior while on vacation abroad. While he didn't use any sort of foul language, all he got was the typical abuse like "if it wasn't for us Brits you would be called Otto" or "at least we don't eat snails" etc. Now let's be honest: the French aren't that rude, i've always been welcomed warmly, even in Paris and people there do their best to answer you in english when you're asking them something. For the most part, they are perfectly clean, good looking and well dressed (sometimes too much). The British, on the other hand, are more often than not unhelpful, grumpy, sad and bitter. And let's face it we completely suck at speaking foreign languages too. So why are the Brits so hateful and undeservingly mean to the French ?  more

Resolved Question: Who is this Mr. Doyle?

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, purportedly told of a time when he climbed into a taxi cab in Paris. Before he could utter a word, the driver turned to him and asked, "Where can I take you, Mr. Doyle?" Doyle was flabbergasted. He asked the driver if he had ever seen him before. "No, sir," the driver responded, "I have never seen you before." Then he explained, "This morning's paper had a story about you being on vacation in Marseilles. This is the taxi stand where people who return from Marseilles always come to. Your skin color tells me you have been on vacation. The ink-spot on your right index finger suggests to me that you are a writer. Your clothing is very English, and not French. Adding up all those pieces of information, I deduced that you are Sir Arthur Conan Doyle." "This is truly amazing!" the writer exclaimed. "You are a real-life counter-part to my fictional creation, Sherlock Holmes!" "There is one other thing," the driver said. "What is that?" "Your name is on the front of your suitcase."  more

Resolved Question: Question...?

Summer is amazing. We have time for vacations and trips to places we have never been before. Which.. leads me to my question: I am going to Europe for 11 days this summer. I live in America, and everywhere I look says to try to blend in when you are there not stick out so everyone knows you are an American. I am going to London, England; Paris, France; and Somewhere in Germany. What do I need to bring with me? [i.e. what clothes? how many?] What is the fashion? I am a teenage girl. I am a red/blond head. I have blue eyes. I am 5 ft 7 in. I am rather thin for my standards. I wear a 4-6 in American sizes. Please help me decide what I need to pack.  more

Resolved Question: Where in Europe should I live?

This is for fun, so please don't think I'm going to live somewhere I've never even visited before. But I am looking for some ideas (for vacation or living). I am an American, but I want to live in Europe. I work in computer networking, and would like to keep a job in it wherever I go. I don't want to live in a huge city like London, Paris, Milan, etc, but someplace that's only a half a million people or so would be fun. I'd also like a place that's not insanely expensive, as I'd like to be able to buy my own apartment, home, or loft (whatever there may be). I don't like weather below freezing, and I don't like weather above 35 or so. I won't have any friends when I get there, so a place where people are open and friendly to outsiders would be great. Finally, I want to go where the women are beautiful (like you English and Irish ladies :-) ) and where the men are ugly (so I can stand a chance with the women... ha ha ha)!! Any fun or serious suggestions are welcome. Thank you!!  more

Resolved Question: Real advertisements 02?

Supposedly, these are actual advertisements that have appeared in papers across the country. For Sale -- Eight puppies from a German Shepperd and an Alaskan Hussy. Great Dames for sale. Have several very old dresses from grandmother in beautiful condition. Tired of cleaning yourself? Let me do it. Dog for sale: eats anything and is fond of children. Vacation Special: have your home exterminated. If you think you've seen everything in Paris, visit the Pere Lachasis Cemetery. It boasts such immortals as Moliere, Jean de la Fontain, and Chopin. Mt. Kilimanjaro, the breathtaking backdrop for the Serena Lodge. Swim in the lovely pool while you drink it all in. The hotel has bowling alleys, tennis courts, comfortable beds, and other athletic facilities.  more

Resolved Question: What is the best European city to visit; London or Paris, and why?

I have difficulty in deciding which city would be better to go on a vacation to. Everyone tells me different things! What do you think? The Eiffel tower and museums, or Big Ben and Buckingham Palace? I know that you can actually go in Buckingham Palace during September, but Versailles is open all of the time. What do you think is the most cost-effective, fun, interesting, educational, or just plain better? I would like some specific reasons, too, if you don't mind. But I'm flexible. Thanks for your opinion! :-)  more
