Resolved Question: I need a substitute for eyeliner?!?

I have MAC eyeliner, the one where you can sharpen it yourself. But, the problem is, i lost my sharpener. I know you can use scissors but it take too long. So whats a good substitute for eyeliner that you put on the bottom of your eye? I heard you can use a brush and use dark eyeshadow with a little water, but i dont have a brush!! more

Resolved Question: Solution to school pencil case problem?

In my pencil case I have: 2 sharpies 3 pencils a pair of scissors a ruler some highlighters calculator my usb and a pencil sharpener with a compartment for the shaving to go into (taped together so it doesn't come loose and explode in my pencil case) Each week i clean out my pencil sharpener but there is like pencil "grit" and markings on my pens/highlighters/scissors/calculator. My clear ruler is now all smoggy and pretty much black. Is there a solution to this problem? It randomly put this question into this category, sorry. more

punching walls, or breaking glass and punching it. I know it is causing self harm but it is more out of anger. Although i have cut my hands with glass/scissors before, something else i have done is cut my lip with a pencil sharpener blade. Voting Question: PEOPLE WHO CUT: Do you still do it? How'd you get help? How'd you tell you're parents?

Well I start cutting a couple weeks ago. Then I stopped. Then relapsed. And now I cut pretty much every day, they aren't really that bad but I went from digging my nails into my palms when I was angry, to using scissors, to using a wood cutting blade, and last night I took the blade off of a pencil sharpener. I do talk to my best friend Alex about it and he wasn't happy when he found out. And he doesn't know what my arm looks like now. Mostly, I just want to know how you told you're parents. more

Resolved Question: Given up on giving up (SH/I).. WARNING: may be triggering?

I have totally tried everything in my power to help myself change. I have given it time, effort and constant practise. Nothing seems to be working. I'm seeing a psychiatrist and she reccommended medication, but I dont want to become dependent, or I can't afford to let it get worse before it gets better. I just want everyone else to be okay, and don't want to worry anyone with all my worries. So.. What can I use to cut deeper, but not too dangerously? At the moment i'm using scissors, blades off pencil sharpeners, corkscrew etc. I prefer fast sharp cuts rather than slow repetitive, to avoid danger of infection. Don't judge me, just want genuine answers. Also, no 'your a freak' comments. It's a way of fucking dealing with life, and right now its working for me. Thanks in advance :) x I dont want to 'end it', just dont care if it happens accidentally. Obviously i care about who i would hurt, but i have left notes explaining there was no other way and that i love them, and i want them to move on and be happy. Hi this is a medical question and I don't want too many "please stop it's bad" answers. Ok I use the blade from a portable pencil sharpeners (they're the small ones) I recently removed it with scissors and have sharpening with it before for a month. What's my risk of tetanus. Resolved Question: i cut my wrist, im not depressed and since i did it ive been really confused?

im an average teenages girl with average problems. I went through a dark stage a while ago when i just felt down alot after my bf dumped me. when it happened i would get a pair of scissors from my draw and cut at my wrist. this was about 3 months ago. the cuts werent bad back then they were just like scratches. i thought i was fine and it was just a normal thing to do btu since then i cry really easily and sometimes i just sit in my room and cry, especially when i feel rejection. the other day my friend got angry at me for i dont know what reason and it really upset me andi went downstairs and got a bluntish kitched knife and started cuting one spot into my wrist. the next day it left a long red scar and its only scabby now. last night i dont know what made me do it but i was home alone and i smashed a pencil sharpener to get to the blade and just sat on my couch slitting cuts into my wrist. this was the first time there was bleeding. i cut about 16 times and now there are thin red painful stinging scars on my wrist. i wouldent call it harmful but im really confused. i dont know how to talk to anyone about this or bring it up with my friends or if i should. i keep staring at my arm asking myself is this a problem? i really dont think it is, like they just look like a bunch of papercuts but i dont know what to do? more

Resolved Question: Am I Ready Enough for First Day of High School?

Ok, so tomorrow is my first day of high school. For some reason right now I'm not nervous, but I have been lately. First of all, do you think I have everything I need for the first day? Btw; we don't know what classes we have until tomorrow.. -Backpack -Pencil case with: Pencils, Erasers, Pens, Glue Stick, Scissors, Sharpener, Highlighters, Reinforcements. -Ruler -2 binders with lined paper in them (I'm going to get more if I need them) And then I have my lunch bag, do people still use those in high school? And I know what shirt I'm wearing, but not too sure about the jeans yet, because sometimes skinny jeans look funny with my shoes. I'm just going to wear my hair down, straightened, with either a bobby pin on the side with bangs or put them up in a puff? -any suggestions. I was going to just wear my blue eyeliner. But I was wondering if black would look better? I have blue eyes, but my mom says that the blue liner brings out my eyes. -any suggestions. So I'm guessing pretty much the first day is just finding out everything? So I'm just wondering if I'm ready enough for the first day. I usually spend around $100 on school supplies, and I saw yahoo answers that said you should only spend $20-40. How's that possible? I spend $20 on pencils and binders only. This is my school supply list, I am going to be in Grade 7: 2 1-inch Binders 1 2-inch binder for Math 5 packages of pencils 2 packages of pens (blue or black ink only- for English class.) 1 ruler, 2 white erasers, scissors & pencil sharpener 1 large glue stick (No liquid glue, please) 1 basic calculator with square root function (under $10.00 at Staples) 4 packages of loose-leaf 1 Pencil box or pencil case (with student name and grade on front) 1 package of Laurentian (if possible) coloured pencils 1 package of white printer paper 1 package (or 5) duotangs 1 Project scribbler for French-top of page blank, bottom lined 1 French/English dictionary 2 packages of coloured subject dividers 2 boxes of tissues 1 package of clear sheet protectors- at least 10 sheets (found @ Staples) And I buy everything at staples. How come it turns out as $100? Is it because I live in Canada and things work differently than America? How can I save more money? And hate to ask a question within a question, but this year I would like to attend a new school. Well, the school can be found in three difference locations (like a campus) and the one I go to actually sucks. It has grades 1-12 all in one small building only three stories high with a basement and we don't even MOVE from class to class unless it's lunch time. Not to mention the school is very over crowded having two ninth and tenth grade classes. The only benefit of it is it being close to home. okay..so before i start, i just want to ask for no negative comments, or people to say i needed to get help and all that sort of thing..because i know what i'm doing is bad and that i need help. It's just i dont know how to get it. I've had counselling and anger management but hated both. I just couldn't talk about anything because i felt stupid. I hate myself, and i'm rubbish at everything i touch, although my family seem to think the complete opposite. However..this is what i'm confused about ... Last year i started to self harm, i was doing it a while then eventually told my mum in an arguement whilst i was upset. Really regretted telling her straight away. anyway..things moved on and i promised not to do it again. I carried on cutting my arms belly legs anywhere i couldwith scissors. Hiding it away!! Then the teacher found out and rang home and told mum and dad to come in. They were heartbroken and went crazy!! i then got given the oppurtunity to go to counselling..so i did a few months later. I hated it and mum didnt want me going and made me feel guilty about going. when i was on the waiting list for counselling, i promised again never to cut myself. i had all sharp objects removed from me, however, i then took a pencil sharpener apart and got the blade from it. i started cuttig with this, still hiding it away and ot telling anyone. Mum regualry checks my arms so i started to cut my legs. I stopped harming all the time i was having counselling and was proud of myself, however..I cut again a few weeks ao at teh top of my legs. But it didnt feel the same. I hated it adn felt really stupid. but i'm getting urges to do it again. I've tried ice cubes/elastic bands etc and none work! since not cutting i have had regular suicidal thoughts. In most countries around the world, and in our own country up until just a few years ago it is/was expected for most men to carry a pocketknife at all times. The knife was one of man's earliest tools; the one that made it possible to modify and 'mold' our environment to better suit us. In these modern times, we don't all need to skin animals to make our own clothes, or cut down trees to build our own shelters; but strings with tight knots needs to be cut, pencils need sharpening, packages need opening, food needs to be sliced, and a plethora of other tasks still need to be performed everyday. I'm sure you all use a knife at least once a day; whether it be in the form of table cutlery, cooks knives, scissors, pencil sharpeners, letter openers, stanley knives etc. Why don't you take all these tools with you, in the form of a pocketknife? I am not talking about carrying weapons.Carrying a small slip-jointed pocketknife is not illegal; carrying knives WITH THE INTENTION OF USING THEM AS WEAPONS is. Whether you find it necessary or not in your average day, why do you chose to not carry one anyway, just in case? Not enough pocketspace? I just don't get it. Not even a small swiss army knife? You don't have any use for a blade, bottle opener, screwdriver etc. outside your home, ever? I find it hard to believe! more

Take my son's list for Kindergarten, They want two Jumbo pencils with erasers and pencil sharpener. 2 boxes of 8 count Jumbo Crayons. 2 boxes Kleenex, 1 box both quart size and gallon size Ziplocks, 1 pair Friskars brand scissors, 2 large erasers 1 completely clear zippered pensil bag, 2 large elmer glue, 1 pkg washable markers, 2 pkg construction paper size 9x12, on pkg construction paper 11x18, 2 pkg manilla paper, 1 school box, 1 container clorox wipes, $5.00 for art supplies. Every year the school budget is printed in the newspaper and every year you see where teacher's make more money than my family does. Our gym/history teacher made 90K last year. None of the teachers start with a salary less than 36K a year. they claim they make no money. The school gets bigger and bigger grants each year. Yet they can't afford to place paper towels and clorox in the class rooms for teachers to use to clean with. I don't mind the scissors, glue, markers and crayons. But why must i buy a specific brand, when i can spend $1 to $2 less for something just as good. And why do they need 5 pkg total of colored paper. I could have picked up 2 boxes of 24 count crayons for 20 cents each, instead they want two $2.12 box of crayons. a box of 24 regular pencils for $1.50 vs a pkg of two Jumbo pencils for $2.88. When i went to school. Just because teachers make the dough to buy name brand products and the school is getting so cheap they cant buy paper towels and clorox does not mean that parents who barely make it by can afford it. I spent a total of a little over $300 on school supplies and clothes for both my children. Their shoes cost $15 each. I got them 4 outfits. My sons shirts where $2.50 each his shorts where $3.00 each. My daughters outfits where off the 40% rack. The listed price was $4.50 for three and $8.00 for one, so they where cheaper than listed. Needless to say out of the $300-odd dollars, less than $75 went to clothes. Children are required to go to school even if parents cant affordit. If teachers 20 years ago could make it with a list of 7-10 items, then teachers today can do the same. It's not that I expect the teachers to provide the items. Colored paper i'm fine with, but between colored and manilla paper his teacher asked for 5 packages total. The school should provide cleaning supplies. Do I ask guests to my home to provide me with windex and oven cleaner? As for the ziplock bags...my daughters class asked for the boys to bring one size and girls the other size and there are 6 Pre-K classes versus the 4 Kindergarten classes. So what do they need 100 boxes of each gallon and pint size bags for in the kindergarten class? My point is, the lists get longer and more expensive each year. The teachers shouldnt have to pay out of pocket either. It is the school's duty as they recieve money for that reason. One of the biggest points im trying to make, is they dont need name brand. Parents should have an option to buy the cheaper if they cant afford the other. Take the 20 cents for a 24 box vs the $2.12 for a box of 8 Jumbo senerio for example. more
