Resolved Question: I need an help defining a career with this description:?
A field in the video game industry that involves designing the aspects of the game, i.e. features, situations, and plot. Basically, outlining a game design. Does this job/career exist? If so, is it a part of a larger branch? moreResolved Question: What would a Video game designers daily life be like?
Im doing this career project for my english class, where I have to present a job I'm interested in to the class. I chose Video Game designing. I'm doing some research on it, such as the salary, job description, job outlook, education/college/training, etc. The problem is, I can't seem to find much information on the following: 1.) What would a day in the life of a Video game designer look like? (I know there are different positions/jobs, but just in general.) 2.) What is the Job Outlook for this career? 3.) Employment Facts? I would GREATLY appreciate if you could answer any of the 3 listed above, it would help tons! moreVoting Question: what should i do i am turning 19 in aug with two kids what should i do?
i was raped 2 yrs ago. i now have twins (boys) and i love them!! the bastard that did this has been locked up. i am graduating HS this dec. (we have block schedule) and am interested in going to college in the spring. i willing be going for Medical Laboratory Technician here at the community college. the local university has (because of the situation) has agreed to offer me full scholarship (provided i graduate from the cc first). so i am not concerned with that, my question is should i get my certification in Medical assistant or pharmacy tech? Let me explain, i am an 18 yr old with twin boys. my mom and dad were in an accident a year ago and my dad didn't make it. my mom is technically a quadriplegic (she can use her right arm a little), and i no longer have my fathers benefits because i am emancipated. i paid off the house and had some savings but that is running low (life ins.). my moms health care is not a problem, she has a physician's assistant(she retired early to teach online at the university) for a sister. we added on a suite (bedroom, bath, and den w/kitchenette and office space ) when we found out that i was pregnant and REFUSED to get an abortion (i figure if you have to kill it then it is murder). after the accident, she moved into it and i moved us into the guest rooms (i had two brothers-one was shot while he was picking me up from a drs appointment (he 'fit the description' and refused to get out of the car and was 'belligerent'; my oldest brother is in video game design-it doesn't pay as much as i thought! lol! but it pays enough i guess he and his wife have a beautiful condo and a daughter in private school )so we have two bedrooms and a bath open. i am responsible for most of the bills and i cannot afford daycare for another 2 yrs until they are eligible for head start. food stamps are annoying (people always assume that i am uneducated and 'ghetto' because i am young with two kids then when i pullout the old EBT card it pushes over the edge-i have had a lot of experiences when people would yell at me to just keep my legs closed and not keep taking money out of their pockets to care for my 'little bastards'. i tell them that i was a virgin before i got raped. and that usually shuts then up. i want stop using this assistance because i don't want my boys to listen to this constantly from STUPID-*SS PEOPLE!!!! we are doing ok but when i start college in the spring i want to be working. i have enough set aside for the community college and books and everything but i am tired of needing these d*mn food stamps and medicaid. I need to get a job and i want to know, should i get my certification in Medical assistant or pharmacy tech? any advice? i want to know if i should go into medical assisting or pharmacy tech? i am going to college for medical lab technology and i am interested in toxicology and immunology? moreVoting Question: What major should i be and top engineering schools?
Okay so im a sophomore, and im looking into my future right now and figuring out what is the best school for me. I kinda like the description of computer software engineering but can someone who is one tell me what are things you do and if you get paid (can you get paid) I took ap classes this year (ap world and ap English and comp.) and im joining the IB program. I really like computers so it is a must to be around that. I was wondering if there is design involved (like 3d design like in creation of video games, i never tried it but would love to learn) I am a creative person (usually using photo shop and other things like that) What school do you suggest me ( i want a good pay [who doesn't lol] but yea i dreamed of being rich and all lol) I am Latino/American (Guatemalan on the Latino side) so how would that help i know of minority getting into different schools just cause of that. Can you give me some tips and stuff like that (especially from those who already traveled this road and weather you like it or not the fun things of the jobs that can come out of this major or the fun of that major and the bad so pro vs con) Please answer all these questions it can mean my future (literally) Ill give best answer accordingly Thanks! For those who do not understand (had a retarded question before) yes i do want to go into engineering but what did i truly ask? I asked how was it, what were the pros and cons of it (computer engineering like i wrote above), i did not put what schools i would like to go to as answered by some who do not understand, please read the question. AKA there is more then one type of engineering and more then one type of computer engineering that is why im asking for what major. Those who just want to talk trash then don't answer (if the question below is gone due to me reporting it then disregard this haha) Please help thanks! moreVoting Question: What kind of job allows you to interact with people, have fun, act goofy, and utilize creativity?
I just thought I'd ask a general question to anyone and everyone out there: I'm looking for a job that will utilize my people skills (I really do enjoy and thrive in environments where I'm interacting with people) and allow me to be creative, have fun, be goofy, etc... I know that sounds like a strange job description! Oh and to make it even more difficult, throw in this little ingredient: I'd like it to be a job where I do something meaningful. Previous jobs include: On-Air Radio Personality, Voice-Actor, Communications Director for a Political Campaign. I also hold a B.S. in Mass Media. Hobbies: Big sports fan, enjoy acting, paintball, the outdoors, snow skiing, etc. I really enjoy writing and reading, doing some video editing, recording character voices, doing some graphic design, and playing strategy board games! Competition, team work, and well defined goals are all things I enjoy but not necessarily necessary for a job. OK - Whew that's a lot... Thoughts anyone? :) moreResolved Question: Video-game-career position for a person that likes to work on strategy & balance in characters/abilities?
I need help! I want to be in the video-game business, but I dont know where i fit in all of the fancy technical descriptions that job vacancies list or if i even fit at all. I wiil tell you about myself and maybe you know the position I should seek: Here is me: I have no degrees, & hardly any experience with any particular programming tool or language. And i do not wish to ever become proefficient in any either or do anything more than dabble or to tweak something by adjusting some values of a previous made creation/script. I am good with computers in general and have a firm understanding of them. However, i am not a person that likes to get too technical with knowing all of the intricate things behind software or programming languages. I am more of a creative person than a tech-head. My abilities in math is lower than average but i enjoy it to some degree but have no interest in going above agebra 2 level. I have some skills in art and am more of a right-brain than left-brain thinker. a realist. I am a gamer for life with experience playings thousands of games since Atari 2600, Coleco & Vetrex days. I mostly love competitive games like fighting games, card games like Culdcept, Rpg's, and Real-Time-Sategy. Work: I love to problem-solve and draw on my imagination games.. i create full games in my mind and am constantly coming up with ways of improving on existing games. What i would love to do in this business is put together games with a focus on strategy concepts ... cause and effect and work on the balance of characters and their spells/abilities as well as the balance of the worlds/environments and how they relate to those characters. Decide on concepts and designs of these things to remove things and add things that match with the overal design; deciding what fits or what makes no sense. And deciding on adjustments of values of things like how much damage a spell should do, mana cost and how long the player should wait to do it again. Or deciding on the tweaking of a units animation speed to coincide with the crea moreResolved Question: Career in Video Game Designing?
