Education In Spain Questions and Answers
Resolved Question: What is in the 10 point platform of the new black panthers?
1. We want freedom. We want the power to practice self-determination, and to determine the destiny of our community and THE BLACK NATION.
We believe in the spiritual high moral code of our Ancestors. We believe in the truths of the Bible, Quran, and other sacred texts and writings. We believe in MAAT and the principles of NGUZO SABA. We believe that Black People will not be free until we are able to determine our Divine Destiny.
2. We want full employment for our people and we demand the dignity to do for ourselves what we have begged the white man to do for us.
We believe that since the white man has kept us deaf, dumb and blind, and used every dirty trick in the book to stand in the way of our freedom and independence, that we should be gainfully employed until such time we can employ and provide for ourselves.
We believe further in: POWER IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE! WEALTH IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE! ARMS IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE!
3. We want tax exemption and an end to robbery of THE BLACK NATION by the CAPITALIST. We want an end to the capitalistic domination of Africa in all of its forms: imperialism, criminal settler colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, sexism, zionism, Apartheid and artificial borders.
We believe that this wicked racist government has robbed us, and now we are demanding the overdue debt of reparations. A form of reparations was promised 100 years ago (forty acres and a mule) as restitution for the continued genocide of our people and to in meaningful measure and repair the damage for the AFRICAN HOLOCAUST (Maangamizo/Maafa).
We believe our people should be exempt from ALL TAXATION as long as we are deprived of equal justice under the laws of the land and the overdue reparations debt remains unpaid. We will accept payment in fertile and mine rally rich land, precious metals, industry, commerce and currency. As genocide crimes continue, people's tribunals must be set up to prosecute and to execute.
The Jews were given reparations. The Japanese were given reparations. The Black, the Red and the Brown Nations must be given reparations. The American white man owes us reparations. England owes us reparations. France owes us reparations, Spain and all of Europe. Africa owes us reparations and repatriation. The Arabs owe us reparations. The Jews owe us reparations. All have taken part in the AFRICAN HOLOCAUST and the slaughter of 600 million of our people over the past 6,000 years in general and 400 year in particular. We know that this is a reasonable and just demand that we make at this time in history.
4. We want decent housing, fit for shelter of human beings, free health-care (preventive and maintenance). We want an end to the trafficking of drugs and to the biological and chemical warfare targeted at our people.
We believe since the white landlords will not give decent housing and quality health care to our Black Community, the he housing, the land, the social, political and economic institutions should be made into independent UUAMAA New African Communal/Cooperatives so that our community, with government reparations and aid (until we can do for ourselves) can build and make drug free, decent housing with health facilities for our people.
5. We want education for our people that exposes the true nature of this devilish and decadent American society. We want education that teaches us our true history/herstory and our role in the present day society.
We believe in an educational system that will give our people a knowledge of self. If we do not have knowledge of self and of our position in society and the world, then we have little chance to properly relate to anything else.
6. We want all Black Men and Black Women to be exempt from military service.
We believe that Black People should not be forced to fight in the military service to defend a racist government that holds us captive and does not protect us. We will not fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black People, are being victimized by the white racist government of America. We will protect ourselves from the force and violence of the racist police and the racist military, by any means necessary.
7. We want an immediate end to POLICE HARRASSMENT, BRUTALITY and MURDER of Black People. We want an end to Black-on-Black violence, snitching, cooperation and collaboration with the oppressor.
We believe we can end police brutality in our community by organizing Black self-defense groups (Black People's Militias/Black Liberation Armies) that are dedicated to defending our Black Community from racist, fascist, police/military oppression and brutality. The Second Amendment of white America's Constitution gives a right to bear arms. We therefore believe that all Black People should unite and form an African United Front and arm ourselves for self-defense.
8. We want freedom for all Black Men and Black Women held in international, military, federal, state, county, city j

I have lived in spain for 8 years, speak fluent spanish, feel spanish etc etc

Please tell me what they are like and the differences!!
Thankyou! i am really confused!

I have my bachelor's degree in both psychology and Spanish from St. Lawrence University. I have spent the majority of the past two years in Spain, and am going back this coming year to work. I would like to pursue my master's in Psychology there, but am unsure as to wether all or only some (or none) of my credits would transfer allowing me to do this. I know once I get there I have to go to the Ministry of Education for the homologation process, but does anyone know anything?
moreVoting Question: How to find overseas jobs?
Right now, I'm currently in Germany working as a civilian for the commissary. I'm young in my early 20's wanting to move and explore more Europe or even the middle east, as crazy as that sounds. But I was wondering how to go about finding jobs that would require low educational experience in countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Egypt, Kuwait etc. Anyone got any ideas or should I just keep my hopes on hold until i further my education?
moreVoting Question: What the hell is wrong with me?? Please help.?
It's been getting worse and worse recently. I used to be happy all the time, really ambitious and excited about my future. Now I'm just a lazy lump who can't be bothered with anything anymore. For my January exams, I worked SO hard and managed to get two A's and a B. I just had end of year exams, and I just couldn't be bothered to revise as I kept saying to myself "I'm going to fail anyway". And I know for certain I've failed and I'm going to end up having to re-take the year, or just drop out of college. I've always wanted to go to university to study art, but now I can't think of anything worse than spending another three years in education.
That's not all. I have the worst mood swings. One minute, I'll be the nicest person ever and great fun to be around, laughing and joking. Then for NO apparent reason, i'll be f*cked off, moody, angry or sad. Anything and everything annoys me, the slighest thing will irritate me. If I say something and the other person doesn't hear me, I'll get really angry that I had to repeat myself. I went to the beach with some friends the other day, and I was so happy for a few hours, we were swimming and mucking around. Then I couldn't be bothered with it anymore, and when they went back to the sea I just sat there by myself for an hour. The other day I was in a bar with some friends, we were dancing and singing away and I hadn't been so happy in ages, and then this guy who was a complete ars*hole to my best mate came over, and I snapped and called him every name under the sun, i'd never even met him before, and Id never been so rude to somebody.
Every month when I get paid (I work part-time for a bit of pocket money) I spend all the money in one go. In June, I spent over £100 on flights to Spain to see a friend, and two days ago I spent £200 on a holiday abroad with a few friends. It seems holidays are the only thing keeping me happy at the moment.
As for relationships, I haven't had a boyfriend in over a year. I've only had one boyfriend, we were together for nearly two years, and it all ended it tears and I've lost all faith in men and relationships. There was a guy I really liked, and we got to know each other really well and I just didn't want to get hurt again so I avoided all contact with him. I only seem to see the bad things that may happen, and none of the good things.
So, anyone have a clue what is wrong with me?
And I forgot to mention I have troubles sleeping, I'll just lay there for hours before I can sleep. Last night I didn't fall asleep until 3.30am as I had loads on my mind. I then had to get up at 8am. But I'm not even tired at the moment, so the same will happen tonight.
moreVoting Question: I would like to enquire about BIRCHAM INT'L UNIVERSITY (BIU), if anyone knows that it’s not a fake institue?
Actually i m planning to get my further studies through distance learning from BIU I have come to know about by GOOGLE and its offering many online courses that i was looking for since long time..
But As per encyclopaedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bircham_International_University
CRITICISM & CONTROVERSY
Bircham is listed as a questionable non-accredited school by Quack watch.[24] A 2003 article in South Florida's CityLink magazine reported that Oregon education officials had said that Bircham was "totally bogus" and quoted former FBI agent Allen Ezell, who investigated diploma mills as part of the agency's Operation Dipscam, as describing some of Bircham's promotional claims as "pure hokum".[25] The Oregon Office of Degree Authorization alerts the public that Oxford International University has "no connection to legitimate Oxford University in Great Britain".[26]
In July 2007 a Mexican newspaper reported that the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) of Mexico had issued a warning against Bircham International and ten other foreign institutions identified as having committed academic fraud.[27]
In April 2008 the Nairobi Business Daily reported that Bircham International University was operating in Kenya without authorization, "wooing unsuspecting students to its distance learning classes". An official of Kenya's Commission for Higher Education was quoted as warning that BIU degree certificates would not be recognised.[7] In March 2010 the same newspaper published a correction, stating that the April 2008 story had been provided by a person "who at the time of publication had a partnership dispute with Bircham over rights to represent the university in Kenya". The correction stated that BIU "is a Spanish institution of distance learning and is in good standing with Spanish authorities that offers alternatives to formal adult higher education specifically aimed at adult working professionals" and that its programmes "can be legalized and validated by the Embassy of Kenya in the USA or Spain despite the institution not being registered by the Commission for Higher Education in Kenya".[7]
So anyone knows plz help me on the same.
or let me know online universties offering courses in IT enginnering. I am residing in QATAR.

moreResolved Question: What needs to be done to live in Europe for like 5 years as a US citizen?
Europe is really capturing my mind... specifically Germany, but I wouldn't mind Italy, Spain, or Sweden either. Traveling the world never really appealed to me before but its quickly changing. I'm majoring in mechanical engineering right now and would like to go to grad school for nuclear engineering but after that I would love to just take a several year hiatus and explore all of Europe. Having schooling as both a mechanical and a nuclear engineer should make job opportunities far less of a stress as soon as I pick up the language. So Ideally, I get my education here and then use it in Europe for several years and then come back to the states (unless I like Europe too much). Does that mean I would need to become a dual citizen? Or would a work visa work as long as I continually renewed it? Is there anything else I would need to do or be aware of?

moreResolved Question: What is the best place to study voice (opera) outside the US?
Juilliard, Curtis, and Jacobs are some of the names you often hear when you talk about great music schools in the US. But obviously, US is not the only place in the world to study opera & classical music.
I heard that Italy and Germany have some great music schools as well. And some might say that the European conservatories are generally better than the ones in the States. Well, what about in other countries i.e. UK, Sweden, Spain, France, Russia, or even in Asia or Africa? How does the music education (opera specifically) in those countries compared to the US?
And what are good music schools outside the US to study opera?
Thanks in advance.
Well, what about Sweden? I often hear/read about the Swedish/Italian school of singing which is basically built on the principles of the Italian school combined with the vocally advantageous "mixed" vowels of the Swedish language. Many of the websites that talk about this school of singing claim that many great opera singers of international caliber studied voice in Sweden, such as Kirsten Flagstad, Jussi Bjorling & Birgit Nilsson.
So I was wondering, perhaps Sweden also has some fine music schools too, esp to study voice/opera?
moreResolved Question: Is this beginning intriguing/ does it sound too feminine?
Hi, I'm attempting to write a fantasy novel from the point of few of a pessimistic teen aged boy. Please let me know if it sounds too feminine and if it captivates you. I know its a bit long but I'll return the favor. Thanks.
"Year 1784.
At age nine, his talents were discovered. A prodigy in more ways then one, Samuel Birch learned to read at an early age, he could write with the depth and accuracy of full grown man, and, most impressively, he could paint with more saviness and talent than anyone else in the free country of America.
Awed by the prospect of receiving great wealth and great fame, the parents of the boy sent him off to the best schools that were offered. Young Samuel crossed seas and endured long journeys, going as far as France and Spain, to receive his education. His charms were noticed and appreciated by novelty and religious leaders alike. Back in his hometown, mothers were smacking their incompetent children across the head saying, "Why can't you be more like Samuel Birch?" People were worshiping the name, because he was more then just an intelligent boy, he was the promise of America.
But quicker then fruit, things went sour. At age thirteen, with a favorable internship down the line, Samuel disappeared from his English boarding school. He left behind his books and clothes, and a canvas propped against the back wall. On it was written, very sloppily, a single stanza.: "There is no knowledge to be found in schools. I desire no attention from scholars. I only exist in words and pictures, search for me not."
I read the museum's pamphlet several times, even adjusting my glasses to see it more clearly. There was page after page on Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and other artists that I didn't give a crap about, but there was little to be said on the child prodigy. I flipped through it as eagerly as a middle schooler with a Playboy, but even then I had found very little.
So then I looked up, only to remind myself that I was surrounded by moronic teenagers. This was because I was attending a fascinating and cultural field trip with my A.P History class. Don't ever be fooled by the classes title. A.P. students are stupid too. I walked passed my peers, paying them no mind because I knew what they were doing- flirting with each other or texting on their cell phones. There was only one person worth talking to in the museum, and that was my best friend, Calla.
I shuffled over to her. She was examining a painting that hung on the wall. Her back to the room, I secretly glanced over her curves from behind, then fixed my eyes on her mess of blonde curls. "Hey," I said.
"Oh, hi, Cy," she said, peering over at me. "Have you seen this? It's amazing." She was referring to the painting, some artist's perception of the ocean, realistic enough to be a photograph. There were a thousand shades of blue used to create a wave crashing against the shore. The sun, the color of honey, reflected on the water. "How can a person do that? It looks just like the real thing," she went on.
"Yeah, without the trash, birds, and fat tourists in bikinis," I replied.
She smiled a little, but her eyes never left the wall. Calla had always been interested in art. It's a good thing too, because her love for drawing is what inspired my love for her. I had been living with my uncle in the city when a bright-eyed twelve year old girl began coming over every day for art lessons. My uncle, he's got awe-inspiring talent. (I can tell by the half-finished and half destroyed paintings that line his office walls and floor.) Instead of completing his masterpieces, he chose to offer lessons. I remember too clearly running down the staircase whenever she knocked. I'd pick a book from the bookshelf and peek at her over the pages. I thought it was a nimble plan, until one day she asked me what I was reading and I had to explain what was so captivating about the W Volume of the Webster's Dictionary.
At that moment, however, I had come to her with a purpose.
"Calla, have you read this?" I whispered, pointing a finger at a section of the pamphlet.
She turned toward me then. Her brown eyes shifted over to the words as she read at an inhuman paste. "What about it?" She whispered back.
I scanned the room, careful to avoid anybody overhearing. "This Birch guy- I've heard my Uncle mention him before. He's like me."
Those thin eyebrows of hers rose higher up her forehead. Her lips parted, and she remained on the verge of speak for several moments before saying, "So he was a-a..."
"Or is a Magister."

moreResolved Question: Culturally Speaking: Why is it a crime on the internet to say anything positive about the US?
You call Americans fat, stupid and all that, well that is okay. You point out facts like the US has the strongest military in the world, that the US deserves to be titled the most innovative country in the world (videogames, internet, computer, telephones and a lot of other stuff were first invented int he US), that the US has the best universities in the world (we know Oxford and Cambridge are good but the US has Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Cal Tech, Stanford, Brown, Northwestern, Georgetown, Columbia University, and should I even go on), and other good things everyone (including SOME Americans want to throw a fit).
Now I agree that America is not perfect but I can say life here is what you make of it, no time to waste comparing the US to a third world country but I will compare to some European countries like Spain and Italy where people throw bananas at the Black soccer players, do you even know what would happen if someone throw a banana at an African American NFL star here in the US?
Maybe my fellow Americans need to get some sense and travel abroad (especially brothas and sistas that hate this country) to see just how well folks in other countries will treat them.
People complain about the education system in the US and how our high schools are failing, well the private schools, high schools in the suburbs and the magnet schools are doing more than okay and people call us fat, well not all of us are fat you morons, sorry we have good food to eat, by the way most of the fat people are in the deep south anyways.
Now why is it such a crime to say something good about the US when the good things are true?

moreResolved Question: Aren't these 14 characteristics conservative?
Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt recently wrote an article about fascism ("Fascism Anyone?," Free Inquiry, Spring 2003, page 20). Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile), Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism. The excerpt is in accordance with the magazine's policy.
The 14 characteristics are:
1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.
4. Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.
5. Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.
6. Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.
7. Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.
8. Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.
9. Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
10. Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.
13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.
14. Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.
moreResolved Question: Why many Filipinos don't like being Asian?
Why is it that many Filipinos love America and Spain yet doesn't feel so good at Asia?
Ironic because Spain have sucked our islands dry, yet they are being worshiped and idolized. in fact we Filipinos are very much happy with our given Spanish surnames which is a big mark of colonization. why do we keep the Spanish names of our towns and villages and forgot the native names of those. ex. why was Cebu not Changed to Sugbu.
As for America, yes America was a great help, but in return it depleted our natural resources and currently our human capital? we should also not forget that America installed in us an education system that appear helpful at the surface but underneath is a monster that keep Filipinos extremely into colonial mentality.
Why do we worship these colonizers?
on Asia; China, India, and the Arabs have been trading with us before Magellan came here. They were aware of our riches, but they did not conquer us. they influence their religion to us, but unlike catholicism, it was not by force. all they did was be in commerce and harmony with us. they did not do us harm yet we totally despise them. why?
why do we Filipinos see Asia as inferior compared to the West? don't we know that Asia dominated the world for millenniums without colonization. in contrast, the west, with the help of colonization, dominated the world for only the recent centuries? Asia which was richer by clean means of commerce for milleniums are being perceive as inferior compared to the West which, through stealing and colonization, became wealthy for just a span of centuries?
why? why are we Filipinos so blind towards Asia???????

moreResolved Question: Will I get into the University of Chicago?
I am going to be a Senior in high school. I am currently in th top 10% of my class. My GPA is only 4.2, and i got a 31 on my ACT (although I plan to take it again; I can probably score 33-34).
My numbers aren't the greatest, but that's because I've taken a LOT of honors/AP classes. Not to mention my extracurricular activities.
I am a Peer Leader (we help freshman get adjusted to life in high school). I am Senior Physical Education Leader (we help out freshmen PE teachers throughout the year). I am the President of the Muslim Student Association and the National Honor Society. I am on our school's Principal's Student Advisory Board. I am on the School District Board of Education; I serve as a Student Liaison, although I am not permitted to vote. I am on the Superintendent's Student Advisory Board (we help make decisions pertaining to student life throughout the districts high schools). I am part of my high school's Science, Math and Technology Academy; Outside of our regular classes, we spend part of our day with the rest of our "academy" in science, math and engineering-based classes. This academy has a Student Academy Council which I am the Vice President of.
I started my own Peer Tutor program, for Beginners in Spanish. I have also participated in Mathletes (Math Competitions), JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society) and am a member of the Spanish Honor Society. I am going to Spain this summer as part of a School-Sponsored Trip (I will be going into my fourth year of Spanish).
I've also been on the Varsity Track team for 3 years as well as football. I played basketball for my first two years. I've received a lot of awards as well.
I am very active and busy. I am really hardworking and am up to the challenging curriculum of the University of Chicago. Math is my favorite subject, and I am hoping to get a degree in pure math and/or Physics.
I'm really sorry about the long question :)
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance!!!

i was getting a D for Social Studies. For the next project, my teacher made a project for us in which we have to teach the class in a creative way. well, most did powerpoints and one did a hilarious video but our group decided to play educational music. Two of my friends played the guitar. The first part was raggae inspired and the second one was hip hop. that's where i came in. since all of my friends are procrastinators, we decided to improvise in front of the whole class without practicing. It usually takes me 30 min. to an hour to make my lyrics but with all of the researching, the unorthodox rhyming i had to do and trying to condense all of the info into rap lyrics, it was rough but I wanted that A. moreResolved Question: Harry Potter fans: Do you know where Severus got his name from (info inside)?
Severus, Lucius Septimius (146-211), Roman emperor (193-211), who accentuated the military and despotic character of the imperial office. He was born in Lepcis Magna (near the modern city of Al Khums, Libya). After receiving a law education in Rome, Severus held a number of military and political titles. He became quaestor militaris, a revenue collector for the military, in the province of Baetica in Spain in 172, and by 190 he was governor of Pannonia, a Roman province in central Europe. When the Roman emperor Lucius Aelius Commodus was murdered in 192, the Roman consul Publius Helvius Pertinax became emperor. He, in turn, was slain a year later, and Severus, determined to avenge his death, returned to Rome with his army.
Severus became emperor by purchasing the throne from the Praetorian Guard. He punished the murderers of Pertinax and disbanded the praetorian troops, reorganizing the guard on entirely new principles. In 194 he defeated the Roman governor of Syria, who was a rival for the throne, and captured the ancient city of Byzantium. In 197 Severus defeated the Roman general Decimus Clodius Albinus, who had been proclaimed emperor by his legions. After successfully defeating the Parthians of Persia who had invaded Mesopotamia in Asia, Severus sailed to Britain to quell a revolt there in 208. He traveled with his army to the north of the island, where he led an expedition against the Caledonians and reestablished Hadrian's Wall as the northern boundary of Roman Britain. He died at York and was succeeded by his son, Caracalla.
Severus's reign marks a period of both jurisdictional and military reform. He allowed veteran officers to hold civil service jobs, improved the soldiers' conditions, created a new imperial treasury, and reduced the power of the senate and the aristocracy.

moreResolved Question: Is it helping, or hurting Black people when institutions such as Yahoo! censor words like "negro"?
Here in Yahoo! answers, geographical references such as those to Negros Island; Negros Occidental, Philippines, or Negros, Pontevedra, Spain, are all censored.
If you don't what I am talking about, then fill in the blank in this logical sequence:
Your toe grows, your foot grows, your ankle grows, your shin grows, your _________.
The word we are supposedly talking about is spelled very similar to, and sounds a lot like, the Blacks-only hair product, called "Re-Gro" for women who have lost hair.
Even The United Negro College Fund is censored. But, it still flies to say "colored people" so get your fill.
It seems like pandering to certain people would be very bad for those people. It could make them become hated by everyone else. We all know of the "teacher's pet" who everyone, naturally, despised.
It seems also, like expecting less of Black people, insofar as social standards are concerned is harmful to them.
Lastly, it seems like constantly differentiating Blacks, or saying something "is different" for Black people, is bad for Blacks as well.
Just go to Google and search for the following items. Google will make full-sentence suggestions based on your keywords.
why are white people
why are chinese people
You will find that Google suggests many items, such as "why are white people smarter than black people." This will work with any race of people, except one. Now try searching for the following.
why are black people
No suggestions. Google has blocked the a-z list of items that, until recently, were suggested, such as "why do black people act like animals." No joke.
At this moment, Google has failed to censor "why DO black people" so have fun with that. There are some real truisms in there. Add an "a" to the search to see all of the "a" suggestions. You can do this with most every letter in the alphabet.
I am pretty sure this is a really bad thing for Black people. In the country where I live, Blacks had no rights at all for most of the time since the foundation of the country. They were thought of as livestock, and as 3/5 human, and so forth for hundreds of years. Recently, in the 1950s, we began a massive social experiment, called "Integration," in which Blacks were considered equal to everyone else. So, this experiment has been in full swing since about 1968. The Blacks have had more than equality, they have had special treatment.
Such special treatment was somewhat understandable in the process of assimilating these folks into society. But now, we are all equal, no longer differentiated in our theaters, schools, and water fountains. It seems to me that megacorps like Yahoo and Google have the power to differentiate Black people right back into what was the norm for hundreds of years. That would be an awful shame.
All of the demands for special treatment in the education field seem bad for Blacks as well. If we really want to show that we care about our Blacks, we need to expect them to pass the same tests as everyone else. There is no Hispanic test, or Asian test, or White test. We need to expect them to act with the same level of respect and dignity as everyone else as well.
If special demands for Blacks keep getting made, then Blacks could end up in "special" schools for Blacks. That would be SO AWFUL, OMG I am crying my eyes out. My heart is bleeding out for my beloved nigras.
Quick followup poll: How long do you think it will be before they censor the word "nigra?"
Some of these answers are really good. They are thought-provoking.

In Spain, Italy, Germany and France, there are many many Christian holidays which are celebrated as bank holidays and in some of these countries there are huge festivals and family or social gatherings around such events. I grew up in a household where Christmas and Easter were about the only Christian holidays that were celebrated. As a result, I often feel out of the loop when things are happening around the Pentecost, the Ascension, Good Friday, White Sunday, The Epiphany, Various Saint's Days etc. Should I make it a point to make sure my kids know this stuff or is it not such a big deal?

Fiscal crises threaten Europe's generous benefits
By MICHAEL WEISSENSTEIN (AP) – 4 hours ago
LONDON — Six weeks of vacation a year. Retirement at 60. Thousands of euros for having a baby. A good university education for less than the cost of a laptop.
The system known as the European welfare state was built after World War II as the keystone of a shared prosperity meant to prevent future conflict. Generous lifelong benefits have since become a defining feature of modern Europe.
Now the welfare state — cherished by many Europeans as an alternative to what they see as dog-eat-dog American capitalism — is coming under its most serious threat in decades: Europe's sovereign debt crisis.
Deep budget cuts are under way across Europe. Although the first round is focused mostly on government payrolls — the least politically explosive target — welfare benefits are looking increasingly vulnerable.
"The current welfare state is unaffordable," said Uri Dadush, director of the Carnegie Endowment's International Economics Program. "The crisis has made the day of reckoning closer by several years in virtually all the industrial countries."
Germany will decide next month just how to cut at least 3 billion euros ($3.75 billion) from the budget. The government is suggesting for the first time that it could make fresh cuts to unemployment benefits that include giving Germans under 50 about 60 percent of their last salary before taxes for up to a year. That benefit itself emerged after cuts to an even more generous package about five years ago.
"We have to adjust our social security systems in a way that they motivate people to accept regular work and do not give counterproductive incentives," German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told news weekly Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung on Saturday.
The uncertainty over the future of the welfare state is undermining the continent's self-image at a time when other key elements of post-war European identity are fraying.
Large-scale immigration from outside Europe is challenging the continent's assumptions about its dedication to tolerance and liberty as countries move to control individual clothing — the Islamic veil — in the name of freedom and equality.
Deeply wary of military conflict, many nations now find themselves nonetheless mired in Afghanistan on behalf of what was supposed to be a North Atlantic alliance, shying away from wholesale pullout while doing their utmost to keep troops from actual combat.
Demographers and economists began warning decades ago that social welfare was doomed by the aging of Europe's baby boomers. Some governments had been trimming and reforming, but now almost all are scrambling to close deficits in order to prevent a wider collapse of confidence in the euro.
"We need to change, to adapt ... for the sake of the protection of our social model," European Union Commissioner Joaquin Almunia of Spain told reporters in Stockholm Thursday.
The move is risky: experts warn the cuts could undermine the growth needed to pull budgets back on a sustainable path.
On Monday, Britain unveils 6 billion pounds ($8.6 billion) in cuts — mostly to government payrolls and expenses. The government has promised to raise the age at which citizens receive a state pension — up from 60 to 65 for women, and from 65 to 66 for men. It also plans to toughen the welfare regime, requiring the unemployed to try to find jobs in order to collect benefits.
Britain says it will limit child tax credits and scrap a 250-pound ($360) payment to the families of every newborn. Ministers are reviewing the long-term affordability of the country's generous public sector pensions.
Funding for Britain's nationalized health care service will be protected under the new government, however, and should rise each year to 2015.
France's conservative government is focusing on raising the retirement age. Many workers can now retire at 60 with 50 percent of their average salary. Extra funds are available for retired civil servants, those with three or more children, military veterans and others.
A parliamentary debate is planned for September. Unions in France are organizing a national day of protest marches and strikes on Thursday to demand protection of wages and the retirement age.
In Spain, billions in cuts to state salaries go into effect next month, and the Socialist government has frozen increases in pensions meant to compensate for inflation for at least two years.
"They've hit us really hard," said Federico Carbonero, 92, a retired soldier. He said he was unlikely to live long enough to see the worst of the pension freeze, but had no doubts he would have to start relying on savings to maintain his lifestyle.
Spain is cutting assistance payments for disabled people by 300 million euros ($375 million) and did away with a three-year-old bon

moreResolved Question: Some of the latest on women's rights. What are your thoughts?
The United States kept silent this week as Iran was nominated for membership to the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), thus enabling Iran to get the seat.
In the four-year period beginning in 2011, Iran will help set U.N. policy on “gender equality and the advancement of women.” When its term begins, Iran will be joined by 10 other countries: Belgium, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Estonia, Georgia, Jamaica, Liberia, the Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, and Zimbabwe.
Iran’s unchallenged election, at a meeting in New York, came just over a week after Iranian media quoted a senior Islamic cleric in Tehran as saying that immodest dress and behavior by women was to blame for an increase in earthquakes.
“Many women who do not dress modestly . . . lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes,” said the respected cleric, Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi.
Activists Oppose
As word of Iran’s intention to join the women’s commission came out, a group of Iranian activists circulated a petition to the U.N. asking that member states oppose its election.
“Iran’s discriminatory laws demonstrate that the Islamic Republic does not believe in gender equality,” reads the letter, signed by 214 activists and endorsed by over a dozen human rights bodies.
The letter draws a stark picture of the status of women in Iran: “women lack the ability to choose their husbands, have no independent right to education after marriage, no right to divorce, no right to child custody, have no protection from violent treatment in public spaces, are restricted by quotas for women’s admission at universities, and are arrested, beaten, and imprisoned for peacefully seeking change of such laws.”
The Commission on the Status of Women is supposed to conduct review of nations that violate women’s rights, issue reports detailing their failings, and monitor their success in improving women’s equality.
Yet critics of Iran’s human rights record say the country has taken “every conceivable step” to deter women’s equality.
“In the past year, it has arrested and jailed mothers of peaceful civil rights protesters,” wrote three prominent democracy and human rights activists in an op-ed published online Tuesday by Foreign Policy Magazine.
U.S. Silence: A Change in Policy
In the past, Iran’s treatment of women has drawn criticism from the U.S. State Department.
“Provisions in the Islamic civil and penal codes, particularly sections dealing with family and property law, discriminate against women,” according to a U.S. State Department report on international human rights. Under Iranian law, the testimony of a woman in court is worth half as much as that of a man, it said. “Women sometimes received disproportionate punishment for crimes such as adultery, including death sentences.”
The report also noted that for a rape victim to secure a conviction against her assailant, she requires the testimony of four men (or three men and two women), and that anyone found to have brought false allegations of rape faces 80 lashes.
“The penal code provides that if a woman appears in public without an appropriate hijab, she can be sentenced to lashings and fined.”
“Sold Down the River”
Three board members of the National Iranian American Council, Dokhi Fassihian, Hadi Ghaemi, and S.B. Anderlini, wrote Wednesday that the Iranian government “has taken every conceivable step to deter women’s progress and institute a regressive regime against gender equality.”
Iran getting a seat on the CSW, they said, was “indicative of the ways in which women’s rights are continually sold down the river in exchange for political favors and horse trading on other issues at the U.N.”
Suntanned Women to be Arrested
This past week, according to a report by the U.K.’s Telegraph, Iran has warned suntanned women and girls who looked like “walking mannequins” will be arrested as part of a new drive to enforce the Islamic dress code.
Brig Hossien Sajedinia, Tehran’s police chief, said a national crackdown on opposition sympathizers would be extended to women who have been deemed to be violating the spirit of Islamic laws. He said: “The public expects us to act firmly and swiftly if we see any social misbehavior by women, and men, who defy our Islamic values. In some areas of north Tehran we can see many suntanned women and young girls who look like walking mannequins.”
“We are not going to tolerate this situation and will first warn those found in this manner and then arrest and imprison them.”
Iran: “A Country of Particular Concern”
The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) recently named Iran and 12 other nations as “countries of particular concern” for severe violations of religious liberty.
According to a report by the USCIRF, “The government of Iran continues to engage in systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom, including prolonged dete
moreVoting Question: If citizens of Europe makes less money than Americans (per person when divided by GDP)?
but have a higher standard of living than Americans because the money the government takes is used to make education & healthcare extremely cheap, if not in some cases free (like Norway). Is that a good argument for or against socialism.
America, while being home to some of the richest people on earth, is also home to many of the poorest for a developed nation. In most European/socialized countries, wealth is pretty much even across the boad. Few Europeans make exorbitant amounts of money (except a few Moguls), but virtually no one is dirt poor either.
America is the exact opposite, it is capitalist to a fault, and there are demonstrably huge gaps between the haves & the have nots compared to many other developed nations, despite being an economic super-power and, prior to the downturn, possessing a higher GDP than any other country in the world
