I am planning to do a post graduate diploma in media/communication from a very good college. Good in the sense that they offer quality education, industry exposure and placements. Only problem is that there degree is autonomous. However, they also offer the students an option to pursue and get a distance education degree (UGC recognized) from a UGC recognized university. Since the college is a partner study center of that university in distance education program, and that the syllabus is 99% same, it is not difficult to pursue that distance program and get the degree along with the autonomous degree. My question is - 1. If in future I want, will I be eligible to pursue higher studies like PhD in India/abroad? 2. If there are career opportunities abroad (short/long term), will I face problem because of distance education degree or autonomous degree I would have? Even if I have impressive work experience and profile? Experience people, please help me in taking an important decision in life. I am so much in need of guidance, and hoping to get some.
