Open Question: The Sims 2 HELP!!!!!!!!?
So, a while ago I got a new computer, and the computer shop-people had reinstalled everything back on my my new computer., But, now my sims isn't working, I have tried reinstalling it, and everything but it won't work, Now whenever I click one of the icons on my desk top, nothing appears! :( (The sims logo flashes and that's all) Does anyone have any advice? My parents are SOOOOOO overprotective! My dad does not let me wear tank tops or shorts that are above my knees. And they don't let me watch movies with kissing scenes in it. They don't let me play with my ipod touch anymore! I am not allowed to wear two piece bathing suits. One time I was wearing a tank top and my dad called me a whore in front of the whole family! They even were arguing about me seeing the twilight saga eclipse but i wanted to see it SO badly that she finally let me see it. And they use the religion as an excuse for everything! They even shut down my phone service every time I get in trouble or make a mistake! They even are friends with my friends on Facebook and tell me that my friends are stupid and dress like sl*ts. They don't allow me to put posters on my wall. They don't even let me go to the mall with my friends unless my mom is there. They are planning to take the lock off on my bedroom door because they don't trust me locking doors. They even watch me when i am on the computer at my desk so i have to use the laptop and go in my room so i am not being watched. And they don't allow me to go to sleep overs! Okay, my sister is a complete 6 year old brat. She breaks everything that I own. She was jumping and standing on the faces of my drawers, two that hold my video games and one on my dressing table that holds my socks, and tore the face completely off.. also, there is a bar holding up the top of my computer desk that she managed to make cave in, and there is a gaping hole on the right side of my desk that was caused by her pushing down on the desk, and standing on it to "reach something." Also, one time, she got bubble gum on the bottom side of my iPhone, the side with the charger. No damage was done, and I managed to clean it off, but it was still upsetting. (This is also off topic, but she uses my iPhone and I don't get to. How can this stop too?) Anyway, this isn't the half of it though. What really pushed me over the line was, recently she broke a rocking chair that my grandmother gave me. She tore the right arm completely off, and lost the back cushion. The thing is, my grandma won't be around much longer due to cancer, and the chair and a blanket she gave me is all I have. Literally. And it would just be nice to keep the things in good condition... because I was hoping to keep them for a long, long time. I just need to know how to stop her from breaking everything, I have to do it myself because my parents do nothing, they just say she doesn't know better, and I need to know how to cope with the anger of her breaking my things. @Erin, my door has a reverse lock due to me locking her out. I have always had a fear of spiders and it has never really been any trouble for me in the past, I used to just be grossed out and if I saw one i'd scream and call it a day but recently my "phobia" is getting worse. For example, a few minutes ago (15-20 mins. ago) I was getting ready to go to bed and I chose to just sleep on the couch and then I saw a spider crawling up the side of the couch I was laying on, I totally freaked out and relocated to sit on top of the computer desk, I am still freaked out about it and I am on the verge of tears, that is how afraid I am...I am scared that I am going to have a panic attack. I probably won't be sleeping at all tonight, not even if I go into a different room. I don't know what the hell is going on with me but I don't think this is normal at all. I know that phobias are common but I don't think this is a normal way to react to my fears. right now I am in my kitchen and before I even sat down on a kitchen chair I looked underneath it and all around it to see if there was a spider. I was noticing a low connection from my laptop to our wirless router (Belkin G PLus MIMO router v.5000) and then one day the connection dropped completely. So I restarted the modem and the router and both seemed to be working. but the lights on the front of the router which are power, which computers are connected to it, one that looks like a phone and one that is a globe, Only the phone one, the connection one and the power one were on. I unplugged the line from the router and put it straight into the desktop and the internet itself is working fine. But when I plug it back into the router and the cord from the router to the computer, It has no connection on the desk top and the other laptops in the house hold. ok so i like to take my dwarf/lionhead bunny out of his cage in the afternoon every day so he can get a little exercise but it has been alot of work to get him back into his cage it comes to a point where i have throw a blanket on him!!! i mean i dont want to scare him or anything but i have tried every think i can think of. every one says to sit by his cage on the floor and wait untill he comes up to me but its not as easy as it sounds when i reach out real slowly and gentle he runs away! i cant but his cage on the floor and wait for him to crawl into it because the door to open it is at the top of the cage where they cant reach to jump back in. and i dont want to isolate him from exercise or anything . its always been throwing a blanket on him, catching him with my bare hands which is painful and scary because he kicks and scratches but i really want to get him to just not be scared i want to just pick him up and put him in his cage gently i also have to block his way to under the bed under my computer desk and under this dresser because he likes to climb under there and i cant reach him. I am a recent college graduate. I have a B.S. in Applied Arts and Science, concentrating in Information Technology, Software Technology, and Science. Well, throughout my college career I changed majors 3 times, I started in Software Engineering, switched to Information Technology, and then ended up with my mixed degree that no one has heard of. Long story short, I hate my major and I don't like working in those kinds of environments. I completed an internship in Information technology that left me going home everyday feeling depressed and stupid. I'm currently working in a call center environment and I hate it. I liked the job when I started, and the people are okay, but the working conditions are ridiculous. Basically I work in a small room with 20 people and don't even have my own desk. All I have is a computer and a chair at a table with a few inches between me and the next person. In addition, most people on the phone insult me and are just plain miserable. To top it all off, I have a cold this week and took a couple of days off because I can barely talk, and my supervisor told me they might just replace me since I've been sick. Sweet, huh? So, in conclusion, I feel like my life is in a never-ending rut. I hate my degree, my major, and my job. I'm broke and I really need a job that can pay my bills and my student loans. I don't really know what my interests are, so it leaves me ending up at jobs that make me cry myself to sleep. I would just like some advice, from people who have been in the same situation, or advice on how to land a job that I'll enjoy...or even advise on what types of jobs are enjoyable (I know that work isn't meant to be fun, but it should at least not cause depression). Here's the deal: My co-worker, who is also the IT person for our office, is working on my laptop. A couple of months ago there were issues with the hard drive and he replaced it. He charged me for the cost of the part and $50 to install it, so it was a total of about $125. That was definitely fair and saved me $75 as the repair shop quoted me $200 (I called just to see what it would cost). After using the computer for a couple of months it stopped connecting to the internet. I had it setup to connect through a wireless connection and sometimes it would randomly stop working. I just mentioned it to the IT guy to see if he had any suggestions. We have worked together for seven years and he has always been more than happy to give advice. He told me to bring it in so he could take a look at it. I brought it in two days later. That was almost one month ago. I noticed the laptop sat on his desk for a few days, then I saw him loading it into his car one day on my way home. On July 7th, after a week and a half of having my laptop, I sent him an e-mail telling him I was not trying to rush him, but wanted to know if there were any major concerns. He replied and said, "It will ready Monday." I had another question for him about something totally unrelated on that Monday, and he said, "Oh, I need one more day on the laptop." I told him that was perfectly fine. Here it is July 21st and I still have no laptop nor do I have any idea what's going on with it. I *think* I just saw it sitting on top of his desk, but he hasn't said a word to me about it and I can't imagine why it would just be sitting there. I don't want to constantly bug him about it, especially since he's doing it for free and on his own time, but I find it odd that he hasn't said anything else about it. I feel the only reason he even said he needed that one additional day was because I was in his presence and he figured I'd ask, which I didn't, he voluntarily gve me the update. Would it be wrong to ask him abot it again? I really don't know if he's waiting on a part (which he hasn't asked me about buying if he has) or if something major is the problem. I see him everyday and, in fact, ran into him at the coffee machine this morning. He didn't say anything. He is a really nice guy and has repaired my home computer in the past. It was about two years ago but he wiped out a bunch of viruses and put some updates on my computer. I bought him a nice bottle of tequila as that's what he said he'd like when I asked him what he wanted for doing the work. I plan to buy him something for doing this work if I ever get my laptop back! I don't expect him to do anything for free and don't feel it's right to bug someone when they're doing something on their own time, but what am I supposed to do? Continue to wonder? I have a belkin wireless router and modem, a dell laptop working on windows 7, a desktop working on windows xp. The laptop is wifi enabled and the desk top can be made wifi enabled. I also have one lcd and one led tv working in two different rooms. As the tvs are in different rooms, there is a clutter of cables and wires connecting the tvs with the cable line. What I want to do is to use some device which will accept the cable signal and transmit them wirelessly to both the tvs using ghe wireless router. Is it possible to do something for this? I have gone through the product info and specifications of Linksys WMB54G Wireless-G Music Bridge, Linksys Media Center Extender (DMA2100), Linksys Media Center Extender with DVD Player (DMA2200), but apparently it seems that the first one is capable of receiving cable/tv signal and send to laptop or and desk top and the last two are capable of sending data from computer to tv. I have an emachines desk top computer. I recently just bought a new stick of memory for it. It's one gb. The old card is five twelve mb. I have two slots. The card in the first slot will work. But the card in the second slot won't work. I tried switching them around to make sure it wasn't the card, and i got the same results. Both cards will work, only if it's in the first slot. this is the final part o my school writing project on apocalyptic literature, tell me what you think: It has been 10 months since my last annotation. This will definitely be my last one, because the guilt and the sorrow won’t let me keep writing much longer… I’ve reached my goal… after hunting him down for weeks I found the one responsible for this, a scientist. As soon as he saw me, he started running to his hideout. I shot him in both legs once I was inside the library in which he was hiding. And I tortured him, shooting him, limb by limb and asking him what happened. He was leading a project to create the ultimate weapon, and he did. So small it was undetectable, but so powerful that it was uncontrollable. I asked him why he did it and he said “it wasn’t my will to do it”. I said, “Fucking tell me already” and he said… he said it was a mistake… someone gave the wrong instructions… and instead of disposing of the project, they launched it. I didn’t believe him, and, without saying a word and looking into his eyes… I emptied my gun on his chest. Seven shots of a Desert Eagle, into his heart and lungs. I felt great, relieved and most of all, rage-full. It took me some seconds to calm down, but once I did I just sat on a chair and stared at his lifeless corpse. And then I smiled, and laughed, happy of achieving my own personal vendetta… then thanks to my medical condition, I faded out for about 3 hours. When I woke up I was ready to leave but then, I saw a door, a hidden door in the back of the biggest shelf on the wall. I carefully looked for the lock of the door, and managed to open it. The room of the scientist was small and gray. A bed on the side, no windows, a small desk with a computer on top of it and a light bulb hanging from the roof. I found food and water under the bed, and ate my first decent meal in days. It was 4 am. After I finished my breakfast and drink about 2 bottles of water, I decided to look in the computer. See if I could find out what really happened, and not what the scientist had told me… I was wrong… he told me the truth. As I read through his daily notes about the project and how it went wrong I thought I was going mad. Line by line, word by word my beliefs and my survival meant less and less. The notes described the years the scientist worked on something called, “Project E.V.A”. A secret experiment to create a massive-destruction weapon made of a mineral called “Kolven”, unknown to humanity and only found in microscopic deposits about twelve miles underground that would supposedly help establish a new world order. Apparently the project was up and running until the scientist discovered that the energy generated by that mineral, used as a bomb, would be uncontrollable and he decided to cancel the project… but the others didn’t listen and instead of getting rid of something they had worked so hard to create, they kept it locked in for years… One day terrorists attacked the laboratories looking for the bomb planning to use it as a more effective way of causing mayhem to the country, and they found it. But they didn’t know what they had in their hands. They used it in my city, but the bomb was way too powerful, and they died just like everyone else did… I couldn’t believe it… all this years, all this time looking for answers. I had succeeded in my quest, but I failed at the same time… I killed people, trying to find out what had happened during years. So I'm a total girlie girl. My room is half of the attic and it is big, of course the walls are slanted, but they have dry wall and paint and all of that stuff on them. So my walls are light purple and on the ide facing the driveway there is a window and it has hot pink curtains with light green polka dots. There is a shag thing like the over top of the curtain, it is the same material as my duvet cover on my bed. Next to my window on the right side is my closet, the doors haven't been purchased yet so they don't have any doors, but they are coming soon! My closet is fairly big i think it is 6 1/2 feet. I'm pretty sure. Next to that is a small set of 3 droors. And then on top of that is just like accessories and like perfume and all that jazz. Then I have like a relaxation area with like a book shelf and on that wall there are all my friends names writin in like bubble letters. And then I'm getting 2 bean bags one is going to be pink and the other is going to be lime green. Then I have my bed. Within the last few weeks some strange things have happened in my room. My boyfriend and I live together and we have both dogs in our room. One night, at 430am our great dane was pacing back and forth, barking like crazy. We put her outside and she wouldnt stop barking at the house. She has never acted like that. We didnt think much of it until it happened the next night at 430am. We had left the window open again and this time both dogs were pacing back and forth, barking like crazy, but towards the window this time. We then began to think that maybe someone was creeping around the house because we could have sworn we both heard voices, but we couldnt hear where they were coming from. We have plants outside our window and the dirt is always muddy so we would have seen footprints, but never any. It happened again about 4 nights later at 430am. Same exact thing. Then 3 days ago, I was resting in bed, window was closed, dogs were inside and they were both sleeping. We always have the bathroom door shut. I nodded off and when I woke up at 430pm this time, the bathroom door was wide open and my dog jolted awake and started barking like crazy at the bathroom door. Backing up as if something was coming out. But when I looked in, nothing was there. Then the last was last night again at 430am. Something told me to wake up and when I did my dog was pacing back and forth, barking like crazy. My boyfriend has his computer monitor on the desk on top of his speakers and he has a piano keyboard hanging above his computer. When we went to sleep, everything was in its place. When we woke up to my dog barking, his computer monitor was laying face down on the desk and his keyboard was sitting on the desk next to the monitor. Shortly after, I was trying to fall asleep, it was cool in the room we had the ceiling fan going and suddenly felt hot air at my feet...like someone breathing on them. The weirder these experiences get, the more I tend to blame it on a haunting. Nobody else in the house has problems. What do you think? Right now we dont have the money for psychics or things like that. My boyfriends brothers keep telling us we should set up a video camera 'paranormal activity' style. Hi, Would folks like to give me their thoughts on the best sites to buy a computer on-line? (UK only). Also any recommendations on the make of computer? It's many years since I last purchased a computer so I'm not really up on the latest trends. I need one that can handle the latest versions of Word and Exel, has very good internet connection (as I work from home for clients at times) and reliable. We can no longer communicate with our printer. Three of our computers are running Windows 7 and one, (the older one), is running Windows Vista. When we get two computers together on one desk, all kind of weird stuff happens, the problems are corrected when the computers are separated. We are using AT&T Uverse WiFi system for our internet access. All our new units including the new printer are Dell products. But our older computer is a LENOVO by IBM. All computers in the house are lap tops. We would appreciate any help. Thank you. I asked this before, got some answers but none worked. I want to get a mouse, as a pet, and am wondering what other mouse owners would recommend as a good cage that is easy to clean or cleans well, has good ventilation, that the mouse would not be able to escape from, and is just generally a good mouse cage that I would also be able to use for other small rodents (like a hamster or gerbil) after the mouse has passed. I would prefer a cage that I can put a couple tubes on, because I want to put the cage on my bookcase, which is next to my computer desk, and I'd like to have a tube going from the cage to my desk with a cover on it, that I can open up while I'm sitting there so the mouse can come out and visit on their own. I have a desk top computer and am interested in a laptop but I have heard people call them notebooks. Is there a difference and if so what. Also what is a good laptop to get? I don't want one that is junk or gives problems all the time. It does not have to be real fancy just sort of simple and sufficient. I recently got my first portable hard drive, a WD Elements. My friends said that they didnt even have to install there hard drives, they just plugged it in and it would work like a normal USB so that is what I expected. Except for mine, I realised I had to install it. So I partitioned it and everything for my Macbook by using support.wdc.com, but what happens if i wnat to drag files onto my hard drive from another computer? OK The dream started by me running away from home.. I don't really know where I got to but I kinda ran to this chinese district.. kinda like china-town in London and in some parts of America.. So i was kinda hungry (I was wearin 3/4 length shorts at the time and a blue vest top but i had boobs :S It was in 3rd person view. So i went into this tesco. It lookes like my local tesco but it was like in chinese symbols and stuff And when I went in it was extremely crowded. Not like I could hardly move but like ALOT of people were there if you know what i mean. And the people were wearin like very dull colours and everyone sort of blended in. So i picked up my faveourite black hoodie (with kinda graffitii writing on) and i ziped it up. Now i'm wearin black skinnies too. :S I 'lost my boobs' at this point. THEN this music started. Not like pop or anything just this 4-beat thing on a drum. And people were talkin on the beats that made sence. And then I tried to but it just came out as sex noises. Then this random chubby guy (15-ish, my age) said dont mke sex noises. And don't spill your drink. OK, then there was a blackout and silouettes of the army were there.. I guess they took me away because next I was in a jail/prison-cell surrounded by indian or dark-skinned asian women. But i'm a boy so i ws wondering why I was in there. Then a baby started crying. So this woman wearing a blue sari asked me if I could come back in the easter holiday. I said yea. So she and a woman in a red sari went to the kitchen to look after the baby. I was wonderin round the prison cell and opened this door to find my IT/computer room at school. Then this older really HOT guy walked in (he was about 30-40 i think) and he just came back jogging because he was all muscley and sweaty and fit. and he wasdrying himself off with a towel. But he went behind a desk and walked back out with his work trousers on. He was walkin back to this table giving me the eye like he wanted me and he got change into the rest of his suit. Then I walked over to him (we were in a flat and on his sofa at this point) we started off kissing and tounging when the computer class for GCSE walked in. I was thinking of getting an hdtv to put on top of the drawer. I've got an older pc that I'm fixing up, or at least am trying to. If it works, I'm going to put it into my room. The pc will be sitting on the ground (not carpeted) and almost everything will be wireless, except for the power cords. I want to eliminate as many peripheral cables as I can, I hate cords, they drive me nuts. My plan is to purchase a single usb hub with multiple usb ports for the wireless attachments that will sit on my desk and attach directly into the pc. The ports will be used to create a wireless connection point for the printer, mouse, monitor and keyboard. That way I only have one cord to deal with and the top of my desk doesn't look like a puzzle of wires. I already got a wireless mouse, and will be hopefully buying a wireless keyboard soon. But I still have a couple of issues. 1) I already have a modem and a wireless router attached to the main desktop pc in another room. I need to know how to get the desktop in my room to receive a signal from that router so that I can get on the internet. How do I do that? I just bought a new Dell Inspiron laptop from Dell.com last Sunday and I also up graded it so that it would be really fast and I got it for a really great price because it was on sale. I have not received it yet but will be soon. Now I run my old Dell Inspiron off a Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHZ Router which is hooked up to comcast high speed internet and it seems to always loose internet connection and what I have to do to fix it is unplug the power plug from the back of the router and then wait 2 minutes then replug it back in then my internet connection comes back and works great again. I have to do this about 3 times a week which I think is a real pain because it will happen while I am right in the middle of something and I loose my internet page. Now I have a Dell desk top that I run the router off of and if I am to just run my comcast high speed internet just to the desk top computer with no router hooked up to it I never loose my internet connection and only loose it while hooked up to the router. Now I talked to one of my dad's friends that knows a little about computers he said the router stinks and I should go out and get a new one that is much better and that should fix my problem with the internet connection beling lost all the time. Now I am going to have windowns 7 on my new Dell Inspiron laptop and the Dell desk top that I have runs on windows Vista so if someone knows of a great Router that I can buy that is better then the Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHZ router that I have that can help me out and fix this problem please tell me know. I just bought a removable hard drive for the first time and noticed system requirements are on Windows 7 32 bit but my system runs a 64 bit. i might got a virus but want to know if anyone has had a computer that is acting up like mine. First when i click links on yahoo news for an example, it thinks i am downloading the file instead of opening it like normal.
