I would like to know, and I think most computer users who are not techies do. Is how to prevent a sudden pop up of something that looks like my computer or windows explorers and it say your computer has problems. When you want to close that it keep wanting the person to click ok. Maybe after three or four clicks it will let you go. It could be either a spyware or a virus thing. I already have problems on my desktop with Vista AntiMelWare 2010, I don't want my laptop to getting any problems or even start. But don't dare to try and fix my desktop, from what I found online on how from others who tryed and each stage's outcome for so far and here at yahoo answer. I was not going on any porn site, doing searches on sites like yahoo, google and click on a link for what I looking for. They are not even porn searches. How can this happen happen, are they just hiding in the back some where and show up when ever, like termites might in a house until there is a little problem. How can this happen what to do to prevent it, when users jut looking at sites like say commanderbond.net, searching for pictures of a car, Disney World, Disneyland, Vegas, movie stars, movie photos, history stuff and so on on yahoo and google, movieweb.com, local TV station sites and big retails's site. So how to prevent this and other kinds like tab style pop up ads? I know about the popup blocker, all I can do is set it to it highest. But are there any other way for those that try to look like windows explorer and say your computer has problems, well beside getting a virus and spyware program installed. The next time I go to Best Buy Target Costco or Office Depot, I'll look into which is a good one. But how when the one you click on is not what you want, it did not say it not that. moreResolved Question: My Final Revised Gaming computer Bulid?

I am looking to build a gaming desktop and I need some pointers. I really just want a good desktop that can play the sims 2 and 3 with alot of space and one that I can hook up to my tv. I don't know if I don't have to build one or just buy one from a retail store. So to recap I am looking to build or just buy a desktop that plays the sims 2 and 3 and alot of space for music and photos with wireless connection bluetooth preferably windows 7 and price range around 300-500 don't know if that is a good amount but somewhere in that are as long as it doesn't go over 700 dollars. moreVoting Question: how is this gaming pc build? I am buying a computer and my parents want me to get one from a company not build it myself so I was thinking I could just upgrade the parts I need for gaming like video card and processor. I want this video card: XFX HD-577A-ZNEC Radeon HD 5770 XTreme Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Retail and this porcessor:AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor Model HDX945WFGMBOX. The computer I picked out was this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Desktop+with+AMD+Athlon%26%23153%3B+II+Quad-Core+Processor/9685029.p?id=1218146395806&skuId=9685029&st=P6310Y&cp=1&lp=1 I couldn't find what the motherboard was so my question is will I be able to upgrade to these, or other gaming quality processor/video cards? And as a side note I'm guessing this would void the warranty, upgrading the parts I mean. Prebuilt systems with the processor I want are too expensive, I wasn't planning on getting the video card/processor until after the computer was payed off. Also the cheaper the pc is the sooner I will be able to get it, even without the upgrades! moreVoting Question: Is this a good gaming PC?

Need discount!?
I am most likely gonna do with a DELL but when I spoke to their sales person they said that their prices were already so cheap that they wont discount. I assume they work on commission and so they dont want to offer any specials. This is what I am looking for. 1. a basic desktop 2. about $2000 gaming lap computer 3. three netbooks with cams 4. a laptop that would be good for photo editing nad also Facebook games. 5. a digital camera with at least a 8x zoom. prefer Nikon 6. a video camera that can hook to laptop for editing and uploads. We are talking thousands of dollars. I already tried Best Buy and they said they dont give discounts. I think they are lying. I have known people to get discounts from Circuit City but the closest one closed and now the next closest is an hour and a half away. Suggestions? I was told not to buy retail but to buy from the dealer to get the best deal/ What do you think? ok wow. why do i deserve a discount? because other people have gotten them. Mostly I hear about Circuit City. And you dont know until you ask. And because Dave Ramsey told me to these are for five different people. i won the lottery but i still want to get the best deal i can moreResolved Question: Are these computer parts good for building?
I am thinking about building a computer and I also plan to get the parts at newegg.com. Before I start purchasing these things I am wondering if these parts are good since I have not yet built a computer before. Please tell me if these parts are good or not and if you think I should I should change something PLEASE tell me. I only use the computer to do video editing, photo editing, homework, internet surfing, and some gaming such as COD (call of duty). The reason why I want to build a computer is because I want to have a computer where replacing or upgrading parts is more easier than getting most pre-built computers. My computer recently crashed which I've had for seven years now. As a result I need a new computer which I will use mostly for gaming and video editing. My goal is to find a great gaming PC Desktop or Laptop which will last some years and play upcoming/current games nicely within my budget of $1,200. This is where I hope you savvy Computer folks can help me out regarding a few questions. 1. I plan to play World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, StarCraft 2, Diablo 3 and more. I'm hoping to experience these games as they are meant to be experienced. Without lag (particularly when raiding), graphics turned up, whilst running other applications simultaneously, with the game running at a high FPS rate. 2. Desktop or Laptop. Its been awhile since I had to shop for a new computer. Are Laptops good enough to handle gaming? Mobility is wonderful, but I would rather have more bang for my buck in a Desktop if not. 3. XP, Vista, Windows 7? For gaming purposes should I go for one over the other? 4. Should I get it built by a local company, buy retail (are there any decent retail Gaming PC's?), or are there any good deals on New Egg? These are the questions I am researching myself. However if there are some of you out there with the knowledge I would really appreciate your help finding a kick-awesome gaming system that will provide me with years of enjoyment. Thanks so much for your time! moreMore Desktop Computers Retail Results
