Ohkay, we had to write a poem about ourselves. It had to have a bunch of good qualities then a bad one. I really am not conceited, lol. I know it doesn't really flow, but most of the poems we read don't. Well, this is it; "Ego Tripping" I made Maine a better place at 9:41am on June 18th, 1994. I am so good at swimming that I make the fish jealous. I can get anything I want with my sweet talk. All the girls envy my nails. I am fat and ugly. Resolved Question: Advice for a First-Time Cat Owner?

For those who were online earlier - I found a little kitten on my porch while it was raining. After feeding and laying down blankets for it, it kept coming back over the day to sleep there, and doesn't seem scared of me anymore (it purred happily when I picked it up and petted it), and so I figure I've got myself an outdoor cat, but I've never had a cat before! - How can I figure out if it's abandoned or if it has an owner or mother? It hasn't left my property since I started taking care of it, and I'd be more than happy to start providing for it. I just want to make sure I'm not stealing some poor kid's! - How long to wait to spay/neuter it if so? Or give it shots? - How can I tell the breed? From what I see online, and noticed of it, it looks like a little Maine Coon mix. Fluffy mane, big fluffy feet, and longer hair than of most of the short hair cats running around my neighbourhood. - Will it be okay outside? Several of our neighbours have outdoor cats, and there is an older one that likes to frequent around our house; they're typically well behaved and domesticated, but will they have a problem with a kitten being around our house? - Do I have to constantly monitor/check up on it over the night? Will it be lonely or understimulated when we close up the house at night time? Should I keep it inside until it's older? - I can feed it cooked meats and raw fish, or do I /have/ to get cat food? I live in a subtropical island climate, so the weather is not a big deal; as I said - there are lots of outdoor cats in my neighborhood, and they're pretty well-received. Nobody ever complains as long as the cat is well-behaved. The worst that will happen is the rain, but it is welcome to the porch - or, if it's a hurricane - a rare trip inside. Any advice at all would be appreciated! more

I recently purchased a 28ft Parker fishing boat w/ a very good buddy of mine. We used it to cruise up the rivers in Maine sometime but the boat is a fishing machine Partner says she want to bring his girl. Ok no prob.. She leaves doesnt give any money for gas. Now this is a trip that needed 100gallons of fuel plus bait. Which I usuelly split with my friend and everyone elsel on board. So she comes again and doesnt put andy money in for fuel. The two other people that joined us did. So now I am getting the feeling that she can join along anytime without paying for anything. Sure she can come on for an afternoon ride. We are from Michigan, and were pretty much just planning on driving east till we hit the ocean, and then going north:) No plans in particular. I was hoping someone could give us some ideas/advice about where to go, what to see, etc... Somethings we know we'd like to do, visit Boston, DC, as many coastal towns as possible, and Northern Maine. Also, we may be interested in going to Montreal. We are not in to the "club scene" so much, but like diverse cities, with great places to eat and drink. We also like to fish, and love the outdoors. Any great mountainous regions to camp?? here is my situation. bought a jumbo at the fish market. in maine on an extended buis trip. the lobster is too big for the pot provided by the hotel. no car access to go to wallmart to buy a bigger pot. can i just put the lobster in a cake pan/baking dish with water and bake it? lobster fits, but jusat barely. need to cook it tonight to make what i want for dinner tomorrow night. of course beaner you can come over and partake. sugar, sandra and heaven i can cook a lobster that is dead? we were just talking ab out killing it then cooking but we have all been told many times that you cant. i like the tomale so the gren stuff stays. lol the hotel does not have a restaurant. so borrowing a bigger pot isnt an option. we have efficiency suites so... we are on an extended buisness trip. have rental cars but others are using them for work related things. bought him a few hrs ago and hes been in the fridge. fish market is closed and the rental cars are being used no transportation more

Last week I went on a fishing trip with a good friend who through a terrible accident lost two of his fingers. We were fishing in the western atlantic off Maine for bluefin tuna, which can be dangerous, after all, we're talking about using a rod and reel to catch a fish that can weigh well over 1,000 pounds. He is usually cautious, but was holding the rod in such a way that two of his fingers on his left hand were casually resting on the fishing rod line; when the tuna took the bait, the force and strength of his pull on the fishing line was so powerful that the line sliced clean through his fourth and fifth fingers. We tried to save them but couldn't get back to shore fast enough to reattach them. Last week I went on a fishing trip with a good friend who through a terrible accident lost two of his fingers. We were fishing in the western atlantic off Maine for bluefin tuna, which can be dangerous, after all, we're talking about using a rod and reel to catch a fish that can weigh well over 1,000 pounds. He is usually cautious, but was holding the rod in such a way that two of his fingers on his left hand were casually resting on the fishing rod line; when the tuna took the bait, the force and strength of his pull on the fishing line was so powerful that the line sliced clean through his fourth and fifth fingers. We tried to save them but couldn't get back to shore fast enough to reattach them.
